Trying to set up an anonymous Twitter account. Want to buy premium so it doesn't get insta-shadowbanned, so I need an anonymous credit card. Sifted through a bunch of dead crypto card services from 2020 that now demand a picture of you and your government ID. Dug up a Chinese site used by Hong Kongers that might work. Will have to sift through Telegram, if not. Then I'll have to encode any remotely edgy posts as images and figure out a way to adversarially noise them so the images don't parse as edgy to any automated filters. Ten years ago you just put in an email address and you could talk to people on the internet.
I think China might actually be a freer country at this point. There's an explicit list of things you can't say, and you know if you're banned, and you can just give people money if you want them to render you a service. No guns, but also no rapefugees that necessitate them.

I've definitely used XMR more often than BTC. I'd love to see some kind of broader Monero marketplace for the sorts of things our people are after.
One thing I'd particularly like is some kind of system where our older, better-off faction of guys can put bounties on sorts of IRL activism/action as a risk-free way of doing something in the real world while helping out our younger lads. For example, a standing bounty of $500 a month in XMR to run postering campaigns that make the news, or stage funny pranks that embarrass the powers that be. Imagine the fun of a few monthly competitions for the best use of a deepfake, or the funniest costume left sitting on a Floyd statue for the media to find.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to usage. XMR is great technology, but it needs to be used for more fun things.
As it is, I can buy a bunch of burner phone numbers with it, but I want to e.g. sponsor a contest for funny IRL activism, or something similar. Things that help us work around censorship and glowie infiltration. I'd like to see something were people pool like $1,000 in Monero, and let people upload videos of themselves putting bananas on Floyd statues, tricking lib organizations into hosting Sam Hyde - style speakers, putting the Will Stancil Show up on a billboard in a populated area, and so on. The sort of thing where /ourguys/ with money and tech jobs can set aside some money every month and use it to make visible impacts on the real world. At present, most of the use is just tech nerds like us sending each other donations for blogging.

I'm not so sure about the Ellul idea posited here. There are few enough truly agentic people in the world that the conditions for optimization pressure to dominant aren't met in a lot of places. For example, I don't think the Daily Stormer's niche would've been filled if you hadn't made it, and DS played a huge part in shaping a generation of men who will act upon history.
Optimization pressure is ruthless in large settings, in that anyone in Korea who aspires to success and adheres to convention will learn to spend 16 hours a day in cram school. But the pool of people with will and agency is small, and their whims and sacrifices play a greater part in determining victors than the theoretical competitiveness of the systems they mean to implement. Our potential terminal states all draw us in when we are close, but the actions of great men have sent us volleying between them many times over the past several years, and it's yet to be determined which of them we will end up on.

A few years ago there was a controversy on Reddit and a bunch of retarded communists created a "federated alternative" to reddit with the exact same userbase and moderation policies. Pubky seems to essentially be that except it is trying to poach users from Nostr instead of Reddit, and Nostr is populated by like three dozen people, all of whom hate censorship.

Proceeding on from this, Nostr is a system with high barrier to entry (relative to Twitter) and no network effect helping it out. Plenty of reasonably famous people who'd have thousands of Twitter followers if they were there have dozens of followers here, and single-digit like counts.
Libertarianism (or, more broadly, the libertarian impulse to try to outthink tyranny with a series of rules that make it impossible) is the reason Nostr has any users at all, or exists in the first place. There is no demographic of "normal" users who would pick Nostr as their social media site of choice absent other factors.

I think the larger problem is selection bias. Running for office as an outsider, like any other anti-regime activity, means becoming a target, and people with a lot to lose are wary of that. You end up with people for whom the small benefits of attention and temporary celebrity exceed the (usually) larger costs of being debanked and unemployable.
Secondarily, there's a media blackout on anyone they don't like, ever since Trump. Tinfoil Bob's podcast for Hispanic Nazidiaperfurs is the closest they can get to a media appearance, and its audience are the only people they can receive feedback from. A lot of ecelebs followed the same trajectory after censorship cut off the flow of curious normies and narrowed their audiences down to a tiny handful of freaks. They don't need to be a majority, but having a steady flow of new blood among their fans is invaluable for any individual or community that wants to stay grounded. There's a reason that peak /pol/ coincided so closely with GG.

I feel like that's one of the two possible futures of social media. Either you end up just having users send you their dox and shadowbanning anyone who doesn't, or you charge for account creation. Twitter is kind of playing with both approaches.
In either case, you could let existing users 'vouch' for new accounts to anyone who follows them, expanding access without meaningfully increasing the spam threat surface.

A lot of people miss that, while Trump's 'outsider' status made him particularly credulous on the subject of Israel, he was/is sincere in not wanting more Middle Eastern entanglements, particularly at the cost of American lives. To the extent that he was able to staff the Pentagon, he staffed it with guys who were inclined to evacuate our bases rather than sit still and take sufficient casualties to mandate an escalation, as Israel had intended. Thus, the ground invasion that would've been necessary to take out Iran for Israel is simply not going to happen.
Israel thought they were very clever in tricking Trump into going along with the strikes, but all Trump committed to was going along with the strikes. So now they've burned their one chance to get rid of Iran, and they're going to (eventually) have to walk away with absolutely nothing. They're very upset about this. If you'd like some schadenfreude, here's ur-neocon Robert Kagan whining about this.

Some say that every generation becomes uncool as it ages, but I think millennials have aged uniquely badly.
- Silent generation aged pretty gracefully; symbols of a better era. Last generation to be respected in old age.
- Boomers might be hated, but fishing, boats, guns, and trucks will always be cool.
- Gen X might be pretentious, but 80's action movies and guitar-playing are still universally recognized as neat.
Meanwhile, millennials close in on 50 with nothing to show for their lives but a bunch of deranged whining about Trump and nostalgia for media slop. They had no real hardships to sharpen themselves on, either. Even the handful who went to war did so in the era of the redditization of the military.
I think millennials are the low point, though. Zoomzooms will get some sympathy because they've been dealt an absolutely awful set of cards, and also because they produced better culture. If the violent disintegration of America starts earlier than expected, they'll also get an aesthetic war of their very own.

I think that's the surest evidence that these shootings wouldn't happen without fed coaching. The ideal target for a lone wolf shooter is strategically significant (so it'll matter), publicly despised (so it won't backfire, and might inspire a preference cascade), and difficult to defend (so he won't fail).

I think it all comes down to the fact that the 2014-2016 years were a religious experience for a lot of people. It had everything new religions usually have. The old creeds don't inspire anyone, and the youth, in anonymous forums, came up with something new. The devil's bargain that a lot of people made is that they get to pretend that it's still 2014 in exchange for not being effective. The burned out ecelebs telling you politics is like so tryhard man and you should just listen to their podcast instead. The various 'NJP' / 'TWP' freaks waddling around giving redditors snark fodder. Fuentes and his endless self-contradiction couched in old memes. They all want to pretend they're still in a secret club like the good old days, culturally ascendant, and that their takeover will come later when people finally get on board.
Things are better in a lot of ways, the Overton Window is shattered, nothing is forbidden anymore, but ZOG's elite refused the peaceful transition it was offered and the next few decades are going to involve hard work and danger. The 'great awakening', whatever it might have been, has already happened, and you're meant to do whatever comes after that when the old regime refuses to leave power gracefully.

Not sure I understand this. Most other AI researchers I've spoken to don't expect an arbitrary hard cap on model intelligence, and those that do don't think we're close to it yet.
As a concrete example, ARC-AGI 3 is great - the best models can't reach 10 percent, but even a negro could get something in the 90's, or at least the 70's.

Open source's value to Linux is that every autist on Earth can scour its source code for problems then share out the fixes, and most do. The same advantage doesn't exist for model weights, which can't be patched by Sergei the160 IQ Siberian autist operating from a 1995 Compaq machine. There is an advantage to being the universally-used research platform, but it's not direct nor as large in magnitude.

I suspect it will be determined by two competing doctrines.
+ We see the ZOG doctrine employed by Israel and the Ukraine, which involves gathering up third world fodder and trying to use Western command and control to succeed where Robert MacNamera failed. The intent is that AI will allow for fine-grained micromanagement of forces that obsoletes the need for intelligent, agentic soldiers.
+ We also see the anti-ZOG doctrine employed by Russia and Iran, in which units of bold, agentic men work in concert with FPV drones, supported by an inexhaustible supply of long-ranged missiles that denies the enemy the opportunity to effectively regroup and provides escalation dominance. This approach relies on a nation's best men being loyal and patriotic enough to lead units in very dangerous environments and also to push the limits of missile and missile manufacturing technology.
So far, the latter doctrine has done much better. Proponents of the former doctrine believe that LLMs will suddenly reach a tipping point where they go from an incompetent military liability to an asset. Personally, I do not foresee a future where chatbots trained on reddit data ever demonstrate an emergent understanding of how warfare works in practice.

LLMs have their problems, but an inability to find things like buffer overflows if you've got enough compute isn't one of them. Very easy to have them verify the attacks, too. You can do this with currently available models if you've got enough money to run enough instances for enough time.

I think they see AI as the wunderwaffen that will solve the fact that the young White guys they'd need to develop working weapons and fight wars are unwilling to do so for what they offer.

An understated whitepill is that good things take time. Months ago, people, myself included, were complaining about the lack of retaliation against press gangs. Europe is a high-trust place full of high-trust people, and killing someone wearing your government's colors is a big psychological hurdle. The will to do things like kill a draft officer does not emerge overnight, but that does not mean that people are "goycattle" who will tolerate anything forever.
We see the same trend from the Russians and the Iranians. They tolerated the intolerable from Ukraine and Israel until they didn't. As ZOG's ability to project hard power declines, things like this will accelerate, including on the homefront.

A lot of people, in the year or so leading up to this, said that some sort of double-secret deal was made where Trump would launch a ground invasion of Iran because the guys fighting the war actually like Trump and would supposedly go along with it. I think that's out, at this point - there's nothing in the region that's close to being able to provide the logistical capacity to do that, and the young White guys who'd be needed for a war are almost unanimously opposed.
At this point, I think the only real explanation is that Graham (and whoever else is feeding Trump false information) knows regime change in Iran is out but intends to keep this war going to damage Trump's legacy as much as possible. The neocons are fighting a rearguard action in the party, with no grassroots and no supporters under the age of 50. They want to hand as much as possible to the Democrats, and do as much damage as possible to what they can't hand over, to prepare for the day when the /pol/ generation inherits the party infrastructure and starts using it to mitigate the harm that the regime can do to Amerikaners in its last days.
