as of right now there is no policy that prohibits contributions that are (partially) created using AI.
It's important to note that AI doesn't magically contribute stuff on its own, there's always a person operating it who is ultimately responsible for justifying and explaining it in review.

I'm not sure how to feel about it. On one hand one could still consider the PinePhone a success since it massively helped bootstrap a Mobile Linux software ecosystem, but having a bunch of unused devices (i.e. e-waste) out there isn't great and in the spirit of the movement
