I have always been under the impression, from having grown up around this kind of thing, that they hate their lives so much and have so thoroughly bought into the idea that they don't deserve better, that they want anyone who thinks they are 'above' that resignation to be punished.
Anyone who speaks against unfair systems and demands dignity and better treatment is 'weaker' than they are for not just taking it and accepting being miserable. So they side with the people saying the others should be quiet.
And they never put it together that that's where their misery comes from, too.

Am I the only one who can't understand Bluey? Not the accent, I watch a lot of non-US TV. It just all sounds muffled to me.
Maybe I just rely on lip reading for accents and I never knew that about myself. But I feel like I've watched a ton of non-US animation so IDK.

It has been an adjustment to not assume everything said to or near me is intended to start a debate. I never got into the arguments, but I definitely assumed the worst by the end of my time on Twitter.

I feel like a lot of people have a relationship to the idea of 'blame' that I just don't understand.
Like, acknowledging that C happened because you did A or because you didn't know B, is exactly the same to them as telling them they did C on purpose and with malicious intent... which is bad and you're mean for saying it.
So they just double down on I DIDN'T KNOW and the incuriousness that keeps them 'blameless'

I often feel they look a bit staged, and /planning/ to show disappointment in a girl is even wilder to me.
But, yeah, even taking them at face value, I cannot understand the purpose of having a reveal, recording it, and posting it if one gender is going to upset you like that. 🫤

I've noticed companies aren't asking if I want to opt out of Mother's Day this year, and that's honestly one of the more baffling things the Right threw a fit about.
The absolute pointlessness of it.
Is it woke to have a dead mom? Or do they just think a gender they don't like hates the word "Mother"?

I don't really want to be on the biggest social media platform, I didn't find Twitter very fun towards the end.
I do want to 'talk about what you love, not what you hate.'
I just want to do it with people who understand that "I don't see any bigotry here" isn't a flex so much as an admission that they don't follow or believe marginalized people here.
