I know you guys don't like the centralized internet, but I'm at a loss here and would appreciate a read, if nothing else.

Ok before it gets too late 👀 And while I am feeling at least a little confident cause I made a really cool song... I need to ask for help yet again.
My storage is now two months behind. Any longer and I'm probably going to forfeit all of my stuff. That's not an exaggeration.
My entire life — minus my guitars and some clothes I had to leave with a friend unceremoniously — is in that unit. All of my books, all of my furniture and appliances, all of my sentiments from travels, my art supplies, my childhood treasures, my boots... literally ALL of it is in there.
I have no means to return to Johannesburg to get it out, and even if I did, there is nowhere else to put it.
I have tried so disgustingly desperately to make a plan but none have come my way.
And I mean that. I have (as usual) jobhunted furiously, every waking day. I have asked friends for help, but none can. I have offered my writing services, but there's no need for it. I have begged. I have given up and picked myself off the floor. I have tried to sell Origins [my music album], but the few dollars I made from it went to more immediate necessities, and I don't know what else to do.
I can't take loans because my credit score has been wrecked since the Great Job Loss of '24. And I don't want to start an OF 🤣
Also my feet are too mangled to sell pictures of them. So, like, I'm out of options.
I said this recently because I mean it. I am tired of asking for help. I decided this universe has a deadline of Sep 15 to fix everything and give my life back or else I am going to throttle and beat it with very thick sticks until it does. I don't know how to do that, but I'll find a way, I guess.
I don't deserve this shit. And I am sick of it.
But that's not the point.
The point is, this universe has taken everything from me already, and now it's trying to take the only motivation I have left.
I know you are sick of me asking for it, but I really do need help.
My whole entire life, guys.
34 years worth of it.
Please, if you can, do. I have nothing to offer except gratitude, and I'm sorry for that.
(The storage costs R895 pm. But as I said, it's 2 months now. So, just short of R2k).
If nothing else it'll bide time until the universe realizes I am not fucking playing with it and it better clean up its mess or else I'm coming for it.

Do you have a favourite word? One of mine is "polliwog" - a different (and better) word for "tadpole".
It's just so gosh darn cute. It's like caramel on my tastebuds, and it had it to be sung.
I wrote this one for a friend, who I may or may not have caught feelings for, who felt trapped in their toxic relationship but was too scared of the unknown to leave it 💁🏽‍♀️
Also, I just really love frogs 🐸 I would like to forfeit all my mortal possessions to them, bake them biscuits, kiss their sweet faces, and put them in my pocket so I can carry them around wherever I go.

I have heard of @nprofile…nud3 but knowing very little about the protocols and such, I am intimidated by it 🤣 If I upload my stuff there, do I need a pre-existing website for it to pull from? Or, at least with the album art and RSS feed stuff I am a bit lost. @nprofile…lm7f is a new one for me! I will check it out pronto. Thanks for answering 🙏

I've debating sharing my album because it was professionally produced and therefore a bit far removed from my usual trash quality, rustic sound. But I'm eager to share my stuff here and this one, Boomerang, I feel is the perfect middle ground.
It's also a bit apt. I've been thinking of birthdays today (a friend turned 35). It's nice that we celebrate each other simply for existing. Like, "Yay! I'm glad you're here! Let's eat cake about it".
"People peopling" is what I like to call it — the every day nonsense we get up to for no other reason than we can.
Anyway, I wrote this song when, on my birthday, I realized someone wasn't good for me and pledged to cut them off for good.
So there you have it. Give it a listen if you please :D And if you know of better ways to share #music on #nostr please do explain like I'm 5 🙈

You are sorely overestimating my music and it's reach 🤣 When I said I don't make any money for it to steal, I meant that literally, as you can see in the attached picture.
I don't promote Spotify or my stuff on it further than sharing the link when I mention where my music is available. When I share directly, it's usually through YouTube Music, and to a lesser degree Bandcamp.
I definitely agree Spotify is ass, and practically singlehandedly destroyed commercial music. But, much as I dislike how this phrase has come to be a defense for wilful carelessness and wrongdoing, I think it's a case of "there's no ethical consumption under capitalism".
Starving people will eat out of the trash, unfortunately.
But seriously, I don't promote Spotify. I'm just on it. And it makes such little difference, leaving it won't spite them at all. I hated Spotify because its interface irritated the crap out of me long before artists started turning against it. My music is still up there, but I wouldn't touch Spotify with a 10-foot pole.
I'm fine with my music staying up there (for now) because it doesn't make any money for them to steal from me 🤣
My bigger concern is that they're contributing to the surge in AI generated garbage. But then again, on the public web, what software doesn't?

Hello there. I'm Rainbow Skychild, an independent musician and writer with a burning hatred for GenAI "art".
I'm also a newly hatched nostrich thanks to @nprofile…d7zz, my brother, who encouraged me to join the #plebchain.
He also filmed this video of me singing a snippet of one of my songs while on a recent expedition to the beach. My music isn't usually this calm (it's much the opposite, actually), but I was somber and defeated when I wrote it. Have a listen if you please, and let me know what you think of it :)
I'm keen to find other independent creatives here on #nostr. Just a heads up though: I am ever the extrovert, always on the prowl for new friends and sets of ears I can bother with my rants, rambles, rannygazoo and, most importantly, jibber-jabber.
