Bitkey made us feel comfortable enough to onboard people we knew were never going to research Bitcoin beyond what they learned from us.
Before it existed, people would ask us to help set them up and we'd refuse. We'd say to stick with Strike until they would do the research themselves to hold it themselves.

We created a new protocol, the Ketab protocol, and then our own ereader to display it.
It's allows each chapter, and sections of a chapter, to be their own short form post on Nostr and people can engage and zap it.
My book is the first we're testing inside the NextBlock app.
In the future, others will be able to publish their works. And use NextBlock of course to promote it.
I'm sorry to say it's not ready for your manuscript but please follow along with us. We're working towards this capability.

It's not new. But those are with tokens or delayed payments. And usually scams.
We're matching people with promoted videos to get paid at the rate *they* set. In Bitcoin instantly.
And we're offering that during a social media experience.

People who want to find cool blocks in the city to add to their corner (21 account feed) or neighborhood (no cap). Or they can visit someone's neighborhood and watch the blocks that person likes. Billboard is discovery in NextBlock. There is no algorithm.
And you get paid and then can zap it out to content you like. So you participate in the circular economy of the city. You fund what becomes premium content overtime.
And you see the price for your attention. So we look for a match every Bitcoin block. Rest of the time, no one stealing your valuable attention.

I would love to push back on this narrative that nostriches hate ads.
I've been working on NextBlock for almost two years. Speaking at conferences, talks, meet ups. So many people I've met are trying to get their ideas out there. They want to promote themselves without feeding big tech. They are excited for us to launch because it would be an ethical way to promote yourself on the Internet. The act of using it will be a signal itself.

We're building something really exciting at @nextblock using Nostr. I believe it'll bring the mainstream to Nostr and Bitcoin. Building new things takes time but I think lots of cool ideas will take off soon. We're still so early.
Understanding what Nostr actually is can help build that long term conviction to keep paying attention to it.
But as the main place to get your social media fix, no I don't think Nostr is there yet. And that's ok.
But it's coming 🙌🏽
