"Hate" may be a strong word, but rebuilding trust to anything close to its level over the past few decades will take a very, very long time.
Consider this: even if the current administration were gone tomorrow, the world has now learned that US policies can change overnight, and at best only every four years. That reality directly conflicts with anything that relies on long-term commitments and stable expectations.

The XMPP Network Graph at https://xmppnetwork.goodbytes.im shows how chat servers connect across the open #XMPP #federation. I'm occasionally checking the number of dots (servers) and lines (connections between servers). For the first time that I've noticed, that connection count is over 10,000!
The graphing engine is having a hard time rendering all of that. 😅

I'm not a big fan of Musk, but I can see how a text like that gets you banned anywhere. Unlike what you wrote in that comment, the text _is_ objectively disrespectful.

I believe that https://providers.xmpp.net/ has an API that your app can consume, to find applicable domains to use for sign-up. Have you considered using that?

On my way to Brussels! I'll be attending the annual #XMPP Summit and #FOSDEM, and I'm looking forward to the next few days immensely!

as the FAQ hints, this graph is nowhere near an accurate representation of the network. The graph is listing server-to-server connections. Connections to components are typically included, which would cause that. Then again, I know of thousands of servers that aren't listed at all. 🤷

Last year, I launched the XMPP Network Graph: a website that visualizes part of the public XMPP network.
It continues to be a fun little project to work on. Over the last few weeks, a great deal of improvements have been applied (with many thanks to all people that suggested or even implemented them).

Bunq, a Dutch bank, contacted one of their customers through an in-app helpdesk functionality, after that customer reverted removal of a section describing a controversy on the Wikipedia page of the bank.
The original controversy (which was well published in Dutch media) was reason enough for me to avoid banking with #bunq. Apparently, things can get worse. If you have an account with them, you may want to consider alternatives.
