Speakers! Gonna talk about talk titles. There's an important rule that tech conference proposers seem to be forgetting these days:
Shorter is better.
Particularly, there's a real addiction to these two part-titles that go something like:
Clever Phrase: Descriptive Phrase
Sometimes it's an mdash, sometimes the descriptive phrase comes first, but it doesn't matter. I'm going to call these CP:DP titles from now on.

It's largely because of the reality that even when American cyclists do obey the road rules, they are not respected by drivers, some of whom will happily run over a cyclist who has the right of way. So many think "if the rules aren't going to protect me, why should I follow them?"
Mind you, American drivers don't follow the rules most of the time, either.

Suggestion: include a link to your posts in a way that doesn't generate a preview, like an incomplete URL. That still lets readers follow-up, without continuing the problem.
