The US #GeniusAct could become the financial foundation for the next 80 years. The best way to get dollar in the hands of as many people as possible, no US bank accounts necessary. The private corporations issuing stablecoins will invest money received in US Treasury and keep the interest. Huge profit margins for really little investment. Huge demand for US Treasuries, lower government financing cost, exporting inflation better than the Petrodollar could ever do. Obviously debasement going in overdrive.

Going down The Fourth Turning rabbit hole, again. Discovered the book on #Nostr. I am constantly thinking about this tension and impending change.
In the last year Neil Howe explains his fear for the future, every Fourth Turning ends with a war. Civil or World War, so internal or external crisis. Important: you never see it coming, ever.
The US is politically divided, Europe as well, Russia attacking Ukraine and the west participates. Institutions are weakened: UN, EU etc. Inflation is always part of the fourth turning and it comes as the solution.
Howe says that we are 60% into the turning and by 2032-2033 it will be resolved, the world will be more conservative.
I think, it is quite probable, the new world order will have #BTC at the core, as a reserve currency.

There is little question that in world politics we live in the era of #PostTruth. Manipulation can be found everywhere and on social media State actors are having a field day to push for #extremism and #totalitarianism.
It catches on because people have a mentality that has been influenced by #postmodernism, where truth is relative, everything has to be shocking, skeptical, ironical etc.
Thus the international order is falling apart something new will replace it. The real food for thought: what will replace it?
Can we afford the truth be relative and not objective? I think not.
Read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. Analyze for #objectivism #philosophy. I see no other option.

Some western higher education convinced couples not to have children as this adds to the problems of the world. That is the failure of #postmodernism with its skeptical, cynical and fatalistic approach. Our mentality is being polluted. In summary: give up, what’s the point.

The Big Print by Lawrence Lepard #bookstr
A straightforward explanation on how our broken monetary system is caused by fiat money with the inflation that is generated by Central Banks policy.
Pay close attention to Triffin’s Dilemma - the country that supplies the reserve currency must run a trade deficit at all time and that creates a tension between domestic and foreign monetary policy.
Lepard argues that economic well-being isn’t about endless growth (certainly not through inflation), it’s about efficiency and productivity. So as the capitalist economy invests savings in new ideas generating new technologies and doing it in a competitive and free environment we consumers have better and more efficient options. Without a fiat currency that is devalued day by day through inflation we would see prices go down in the economy due to efficiency and better resource allocation.
Deflation is the natural condition of a well functioning economic system.
The money printing is done but the Central Banks. It is argued that the US Federal Reserve has expanded its metrics to include stock market prices. Through quantitative easing and asset swaps the Fed is pushing money in the financial system inflating the stock markets and giving only a few an advantage while the majority is at the mercy of inflation.
The book is easy to read and straightforward on how the financial system works and Triffin’s Dilemma explains much of the domestic tensions in the United States and how they are spilling into trade war with longterm partners. The solution would have been to keep gold as the neutral reserve currency at Bretton Woods. Since Nixon took the US Dollar off the gold standard bureaucratic governments worldwide have printed their currencies into oblivion ruining the savings of billions of honest people.
But we have Bitcoin now.

The Populist Delusion by Neema Parvini #bookstr
The nature of power in politics and government. The people, majority, does not rule, it is ruled by a minority of organized elites. In democracies the minority is elected.
Populism, rampant today in all societies, claims that the power is returned to the people. The people cannot hold onto power as they are inherently unorganized go into political passivity and thus need elite leadership. Populism appeals to the mass man through emotion and reactivity, but really it’s just theatre organized through elections and public participation by the elite man through strategy.
The real battle is between elite and elite, so if you want change you have to become the elite. Mass sentiment dies out.
Food for thought. I believe populism leaves society worse off. Even if elites use populism to win easy votes are just manipulative and pray on the emotions of people who will be inevitably left even more disappointed. The effect will be even more division and hate in society.
A good median education through society I believe will make populism a tool that no elite can use for gain and thus useless.

Read an article in FT. What stood out for me was a description of nostalgia, a phenomenon that is plaguing all societies I have a connection with.

What I don’t get? Trump is defending the old system of Breton Woods so that US dollar remains the reserve currency of the world. The US has the best army, the best economy, the best capital markets and best scientists. Why not just adopt BTC as the reserve currency and get 10-20% of the global supply held by the Federal Government, let your corporations hold another 10-20% and you are set for the next 80 years.

There is a new print in that is called The Fourth Turning is Here by one of the two authors Neil Howe (William Strauss passed away). The first book was published in 1997 and there is this paragraph in it saying that after 2005 we should see a great financial crisis, a pandemic, and Russia invading Latvia. Well they got the latter country wrong but will not hold that against them.

It analyses thousands of years of history and it identifies that there is a 80 year cycle, starting from the premise that generations create history and history creates generations. So our next turning is in 2030s. Last was in 1940s, remember WW2 and the Breton Woods system, it just turned 80 years old. So BTC monetary system might be the next thing if we have a successful Fourth Turning. Lyn Alden was also quite into this pattern and it complements really well Broken Money.
