For any dev who considers using RunPod as a cheaper alternative for GPU inference, don’t. Those mfs will wedge your “serverless” instance on GPU failure and will eat your money without doing a bit of work. Just go with Modal or anything more organized and less sloppy. I just finished replacing imgproxy (which gave me more headaches than needed) with a more streamlined libvips-backed implementation that is color accurate and a much higher quality thumbnailer. All of the Nostr.build thumbnails and responsive images that were cached in storage are discarded so the new ones can be regenerated lazily as they are accessed. 🫡

I’ve spent and continue spending a large portion of my time on that problem. We have at least 3 automated mechanisms to identify offensive content, and the last layer is human-driven. It is not easy or cheap, but alternative is magnitudes more expensive. Hope that answers your question
