I'm sorry that your team has suffered so much. The other person who you are upset about me supporting was trying to explain a nuance about terminology. They got exasperated by your team's lack of comprehension. Your team accused them of gatekeeping. That is the context of my initial comment, which was met with vitriol.
Again, I'm sorry that you've been the victim of targeted abuse, but you're creating enemies out of people who would otherwise be allies.
If you want people to treat you kindly, approach them with kindness. Don't assume that every person who approaches you is an attacker.
