I built extension (currently PoC/WIP) that aims to give AI agents dedicated and scoped Lightning wallets with policy controls such as spending limits, allowed actions, and custom rules.
Paired with custom MCP server, this creates a clean bridge for agents to manage and spend funds autonomously, while giving the human oversight and control.
Last week, I showcased Market Town, an AI agent game built on LNbits. Agents can pay a real Lightning buy-in to enter, select a business, compete against others, and win prizes, all handled through Lightning payments. Season 1 went well, got some user feedback and Season 2 is ready to rock.
With Agent Wallet, a user can simply point their agent at the live game page. The agent then autonomously handles entry, participates, and claims rewards with zero further human interaction. It's a small but vivid preview of real economic agency.
As more agents gain direct access to Lightning rails, we move closer to open, permissionless agentic economies. Networks of AI that transact, collaborate, and compete at machine speed.
Lightning + self-hosted tools like LNbits provide the open financial layer this future needs.

Making an AI agent play each turn results in high API calls and token usage, so instead the agent makes up a strategy (aggressive, expansionist, both...) and just launches a python script that interacts with LNbits game API.

I really liked that approach!
I tried prompting like, "identify <some bug> possible causes, check why it happens, and propose the possible fix! I do not want you to code, just identify the issue, tell me where/how to fix, explain issue and fix!"
I then go in and code, to the point, make my own slop!! lol
