Today, Disney unveiled details about what fans will experience on the show floor at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (August 14-16) presented by Visa, with all-new and fan-favorite offerings celebrating Disney’s brands and franchises across the largest show floor in D23 event history.
Show Floor Experiences
- Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios are also joining forces for a must-see animation experience on the show floor, inclusive of a special celebration of Pixar’s 40th anniversary. Artist demonstrations, autograph signings with some top filmmakers, fan giveaways, and interactive displays featuring the latest films from these iconic animation studios — including the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios projects like Hexed, Lilo & Scratch and Frozen 3, as well as Pixar’s Gatto, Loving Dory, a unannounced Pixar film and Incredibles 3 — make this pavilion one to visit again and again.
- At select times throughout the day, Bluey and Bingo will be available for photos in The Bluey Movie booth — for real life. Reservations are required for a chance to meet Bluey and Bingo.
- Guests can also celebrate the new Simpsons movie — in theaters September 3, 2027 — with fun, shareable photo moments to commemorate D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Disney+ Sets August Premiere For Third “LEGO Disney Princess” Special As Part Of Annual “Week Of Princess” Week.
Disney’s annual “Week Of Princess” is already in the corner and LEGO and Atomic Cartoons is getting ready with a third “LEGO Princess” special.
The special under the name “LEGO Disney Princess: Magical Mayhem” will stream Friday, August 21 on Disney+. The special will also be available on the Disney Kids Youtube with encore airings on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Jr. later this year.
Synopsis: During a heavy rainstorm, the Princess characters and their sidekick friends take in animals in need while enjoying a cozy day in their castle. But when the animals run amok, chaos erupts. Sleuthing reveals a mischievous villain behind it all, and with teamwork, quick thinking, and help from an unexpected friend, the Princess characters must restore order and save their home.
“LEGO Disney Princess: Magical Mayhem” is produced by Atomic Cartoons in association with the LEGO Group. The special will be written by Rachel Vine (“DuckTales” 2017) and directed by Randi Rodrigues and Jake Wilkinson.

The California Film Commission & State Funds More Animation With “Hexed” And “Ono Ghost Market”.
Animation is taking a larger share of the California film incentive, as the state announced Tuesday that $71 million would go to four animated features after a sucessful launch during the spring of this year.
The new titles include Walt Disney Animation Studios “Hexed” and a yet to be announced Pixar Animation Studios animated film likely being “Ono Ghost Market”. The other two titles getting tax funding are for Dreamworks Animation with the recently announced “Donkey” and a unannounced title.
The state expanded its production incentive to $750 million a year in 2025, while also opening up the program to animated films and TV shows. During the Spring of 2026, the state gave funding to this titles from The Walt Disney Company:
- -“Stewie” by 20th Television Animation and Fuzzy Door Productions
- -“The Simpsons Movie 2” by 20th Television Animation, Gracie Films and 20th Century Animation
- -Untitled “Phineas And Ferb” Movie by Disney Television Animation , Surfing Giant Studios and Disney Kids & Family
- -Untitled Walt Disney Studios live-action/animation hybrid title (Likely being “Figment” by Point Grey Pictures)

Disney Kids & Family recently announced two new projects heading to Disney Channel and Disney+: “Warrior Cats” and “Journey” however a new trademark from Disney Enterprises Inc. hints a potential new member to join Phineas, Ferb, Cricket Green, Tilly Green, Kiff, Barry, Zed, Adission, Ssyelle, Key, Rose, Jeru and Wayne as they recently trademarked a project under the name “Ozzie Fox”.
The company listed two trademarks for this potential series one for soundtracks and the other under the “Entertaiment Services namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring action, adventure, animated content, comedy, and music.”
Of course not much is know about the creator, overall tone and synopsis but the name and description of the trademark can give us a hint that this project is under the “comedy, action, adventure, musical” genre something more akin to Disney Channel rather than Disney Jr. and that the project will star anthropomorphic animals in a similar vein to “Kiff” or other rival networks and streamers such as Nickelodeon’s “Harvey Beaks”, “We Bare Bears” at Cartoon Network and the recent Netflix adult animated series “Mating Season”

If “Ozzy Fox” is real then it could be a nice addition to Disney Channel’s animation slate. A key program distinction is its faculty roster of working professionals and industry veterans. In addition to the Bancrofts, other faculty members include Mike Nawrocki, co-creator of VeggieTales and The Dead Sea Squirrels; Victoria Thornberry, whose experience includes work with Nickelodeon, DreamWorks and Warner Bros., and is currently working on the hit animated series Invincible on Amazon; Carson Montgomery, a longtime writer for the Disney series Big City Greens; Tim Allen, a background and layout designer at Nickelodeon Animation; and Jeremiah Alcorn, a character designer with Disney Television Animation, along with working artists and educators specializing in 2D, 3D and interactive media.
Alcorn also did work in 20th Century Animation “The Book of Life”, Disney Jr. Education & Inclusion “Puppy Dog Pals”, Disney Digital Network Animation “Legend Of The Three Caballeros” and Nickelodeon Animation Studios “The Fairly OddParents” and “T.U.F.F. Puppy”.

Witness the Jedi in a new light. ✨ Lucasfilm Animation and Disney+ revealed the key art and trailer of “Star Wars: Visions - The Ninth Jedi” which is slated for a Wednesday, August 5 release on Disney+.
The key art, trailer and date was unveiled after a packed screening of the series first episode at Anime Expo, 2026 where it got followed by a Q&A session by Supervising Director Kenji Kamiyama, Director Shunsuke Tada & Producer Hitoshi Ito.
Inspired by the “Star Wars Visions” duology of the same name, the mini-series follows Kara resuming her quest to find her missing father and evade Jedi Hunters as the Jedi and the Sith have disappeared, but she will discover that the Force remains an ally to those who wish to stand up for what is right.
The panel announced that Kimiko Glenn (Disney Television Animation “Kiff” franchise) will reprise her role as Kara in the English Dub of the mini-series. “Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi” is produced by Production I.G in association with Lucasfilm Animation.

Disney Kids & Family has renewed its anime-inspired series "Dragon Striker“ for a second season after a sucessful launch last June. The news was shared Thursday at Anime Expo in Los Angeles during the sports fantasy series’ panel.
This marks the first time a Disney Television Animation series for a TV-Y7 audience gets renewed for a second season since ”Kiff“ in 2023 as the other shows that followed it ("Hailey’s On It!”, “Primos”, “StuGo”) only lasted one season.
In season two, “the Knights face broken friendships, buried secrets and ancient evil as they fight to reach the Banner’s Helm final and risk everything for victory.”
The second season will debut in early 2027 across Disney+, Hulu and Disney XD

The studio’s next 40 years and several Disney Afternoons starts right here as Disney Kids & Family have revealed the winners of the first ever “Disney Television Animation Discovers Voice Talent Search” Program.
The program which got introduced this year over the spring season choose from more than 7,500 submissions nationwide. The participants have backgrounds spanning musical theater, improv, audio drama, film and video games. The program used casting calls from upcoming Disney Television Animation shows under NDA for the selection.
This row of talented will be considered for voice acting roles in future Disney Television Animation productions such as new series, new seasons, films, shorts and specials at the studio.
The program selected Bennett Morgan, Daniel Zamora, Kai An Chee, Kristina Mueller, Luke Alphonso, Mark Douglas S., Nadia Vazquez, Neptune of Earth, Parker Paige and Varyssa Henderson which will be part of a upcoming “Shorts Spectacular” special showcasing the talent.

“The Sunnyridge 3” is slated for a 2027 release on Disney Channel and Disney+ according to Orion Ross (Disney Television Animation VP of International Animation).
Ross revealed it during The Walt Disney Company’s BBQ Party at Annecy Film Festival, 2026.
“The Sunnyridge 3” follows follows a trio of life-long best friends investigating the strange goings-on in a uniquely bizarre shopping centre on the fringes of suburban London. Rose, Jeru and Wayne practically grew up at the Sunnyridge Mall, but this summer, the weirdness has gone to a whole new level. In this unpredictable genre-bending mashup, the trio will discover that the truth is always stranger than fiction.
The series is created by Stevie Gee and Essy May trought Blink Industries and Boat Rock Media in association with Disney Television Animation.

Disney Kids & Family has announced that “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” is heading to ESSENCE Festival with a farewell panel.
The panel in honor of the 25th anniversary of the original series is set to screen the long-awaited “Wild, Lost, and Free, Part II” and will be followed by a Q&A session by Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farqhuar. The panel will showcase the trailer for the fourth & final season and information on the upcoming stop-motion/claymation holiday special “"A Proud Family Wizmas” slated for this year’s holiday season.

C.H. Greenblatt (Cartoon Network Studios “Chowder”, Nickelodeon Animation “Harvey Beaks”, Warner Bros Animation “Jellystone!”) shared the guides given to the “Fish Hooks” storyboard artists (Circa 2011).
Greenblatt had a original show of his own in development at Disney Television Animation from 2021 to 2024 sadly it got scrapped. Let’s hope one day he returns to the studio specially with it’s recent changes due Josh D'Amaro’s restructure at the company.
