I'm stopping this is fucking madness. The "new error" is probably a library mismatch due to something on nixos. Guess the last couple hours were for nothin. Gotta just do it like a normal person from a ubuntu install and be boring. Might use a different platform too I was specifically going back to pleroma because of the existing options in nixos services.

I'm too stubborn to stop now. I figured it out finally. The issue is whoever packaged this for nix didn't (or couldn't) factor in needing to run instance gen *before* it makes the folders on your system. I ended up having to make my own pleroma user and do the steps in a very specific order. But my god I finally got it. Almost. Now I can't create a new user cause of a new error lol.

installing pleroma on nixos is proving to be insane, even though it has services configured. The package doesn't include a "COOKIE" file which breaks `pleroma_ctl instance gen`. If I make my own cookie file and export it as a variable, it proceeds to fail reading a file that doesn't exist for some reason. I wanted to be super cool and configure it all with nix but I might just say fuck it and do something lame like ubuntu. It's not even hard to do normally I just have to make my life hard.

So I'm really confused about this aspect of Nostr. On Snort, I have Cyborg blocked. So far so good. If I make a post from Primal, however, Cyborg can (and will) reply to my post.
Is the blocklist client specific? If I really want to block accounts do I need to actually stick to one client? Mutes are not sufficient I want to help reduce the spam I send out on accident by simply making a post. Is this even possible?

It's mainly for servers but you can also use it on desktops. It's actually the only distro I use anymore, from my pi's to servers to desktop and laptop. All of em are on nixos now.

I would use primal but it is still mad inconsistent for me for functionality. Some days I can like and share posts on there, other days I can't. I really want to use Gossip, and have started packaging it for nix, but I keep forgetting to finish that project. Really I just have to learn how to pass the right build flags to the rust compiler for that to work (I think idfk).
