Recently got back into Bikram yoga. Finished my 3rd class this morning. The progress is profound. Flexibility, endurance, focus-ability levels have all increased... And probably a good amount of detox with all that sweat. I highly recommend hot yoga to anyone who lives in an area where it is offered.

Just finished reading the essay, @nprofile…2xwm . On the whole, it doesnt exactly light a fire under my ass to join the movement. While the intentions are generally in alignment with my values, the language is underwhelming. Theres a lack of voracity that I believe is needed to tackle these issues. You've got the right idea in making a call to action, yet the call isnt LOUD enough. Had to screen record this excerpt from a legendary mark passio seminar in Asheville, NC over a decade ago... Herein, he captures the hilarious blasphemy of "the savior" ive heard peddled out in many new age festivals/panels/talks...
As for the totality of the seminar, he really hits the nail on the head in regards to the entrapments of the new age movement, and offers tangible practical solutions to remedy the current state of human slavery & suffering. The seminar is about 6 hours long, and does a great job of giving the new age credit where due, but calling on the sacred masculine, aka action, to activate.
Passio can be really hard on the ears in some of his podcasts & interviews, but this seminar is one of the best pieces of media ive ever taken in (and ample humor for good measure).

Outstanding post. I worked at an animal sanctuary for a year and saw this coddling firsthand.
I see it with domesticated dogs as well, locked in a house for 95% of the day. Barking ad nauseum at passers by through the street window. This primal instinct and drive to explore is being taken from them.
I think theres beauty in wanting to give our animal pals the best quality of life, but I believe the anthropomorphism is getting out of hand.
And to your point, the same domestication is happening to the human family. I'm not interested in losing the wild, the primal, the sense of aliveness that comes from living in and through nature.

I'm not overly sensitive to EMFs, however with apple airpods I noticed I would have earaches after prolonged use (30 min +). Got rid of those with the quickness. No such issues have ever occurred to me with wired headphones. Ive even used a pair of Bluetooth Bose ear buds, as well as a set of V-MODA Bluetooth headphones for extended periods, but havent felt any earaches with them. Even still, I always go wired if possible... Healthier in the long-run, and better sound quality

Weve been growing with our Tower Garden for a few years now. A problem we ran into early on was the proliferation of aphids. The aphid issue was remedied upon adding chives, spearmint & peppermint to our grow. Not sure which of those 3 repellee them the most, but something to be aware of for sure...

Outstanding post on the predicament threatening indie venues. After frequenting the college town of Ithaca, NY the past couple years I can confirm their small clubs are on life support, if not already having gone under.
And this is a COLLEGE TOWN, where one would imagine young Cornell and Ithaca uni students would be going out in droves... But they dont - I suspect the creature comforts afforded by technology have become largely inescapable for young people. And if young people do come out, they aren't buying drinks. Now I personally support the renunciation of alcohol - I'm simply noting the antiquated business structure of venues relying on bar sales is no longer viable.
Furthermore, the few people in town who are frequenting small music venues tend to be white collar or uppity NYC transplants. Not exactly conducive to forging culture & community...
At the same time, I must give credit where credit is due. The Ithaca punk scene is very strong, consistent, and connected. The raw authenticity of the punk community speaks volumes to young people. Its just bout the only form of music keeping venues alive in town...
Interested to hear solutions from others in regards to drawing people to IRL events in 2026 & beyond...
