wouldn’t think it would be but it’s something I have never really looked into. Personally I would just try to see if there was a way to close caption it using the dubtitle script. Then reserve the ass/srt files for actual subs as per normal.
But last time I tried my hand at subbing anything I was using an Amiga 1000, genlock, w/ I think JACOsub. So my knowledge is quite a bit dated >_>

oh wishing better is never wrong. I just, sadly, think it highly unlikely at this point. My sister-in-law brought this up when I was visiting over Christmas oddly enough. It’s why it was fresh in my mind since she had no idea.
She watches everything with subtitles due to hearing issues & had asked about it. Which is how the conversation started & me, being the wordy nerd I am, made a face at my brother’s “Oh you done asked for it now girl. She’s gonna talk your ear off so best just stop the video this’ll be a bit…” comment and explained it all. >_>

the way things are going you probably should be happy that they’re not yet AI generated. I absolutely DETEST what Crunchyroll is trying to do with their service.
With them being the dominant player (Thanks Sony!! 🖕🖕🖕) it’s only a matter of time before they do. Which leaves HiDive as the only other real alternative. RetroCrush only plays oldies, & doesn’t really care, and neither Amazon nor Netflix give a eff either.
Fansubs you say? Well no real saves there either since I think they mostly have evaporated. And those releases you do see rip the subs from, you guessed it, Crunchyroll/Netflix/Amazon.
So yeah, TL;DR be happy with what’s there because chances are it’s gonna get way worse. :(

Installed Mona for Mastodon at recommendation of a friend. Okay. Looks nice but ran into two hard no issues right out of the gate.
First, the free version caps you at an insane 160 character post limit. I’m not joking & even hides other default features too as you can see. Okay, I get it, software dev costs money & I’m more than happy to pony up. Which leads me to the other issue.
To get all of the features that you would want to use how much do you think that’s worth? Well they think it’s worth $30 for it which, at least they give it to you across multiple devices. Oh and it is a lifetime cost as well so there is that as well I suppose.
Was looking at Ivory after some good reviews only to find that requires a subscription $25/year. I looked for other options & really they didn’t get better & in some cases got way worse.
Which is crushing because I guess I really lucked out on Ice Cubes being free & having all the features I liked. But with the notifications now being broken I’m being faced with some pretty stinky choices. Either deal with the horrid official Mastodon client or pay money & hope they support the app better. -_-

it used to be good but the “line must go up” folks got into it & turned it to a steaming pile of dung. What’s worse is TCL partnered with them and turned their once stellar TV’s into an ad crammed mess.
I bought an Apple TV & Chromecast for oir TV’s & tossed all our Roku’s into the garbage. I refuse to even connect my TV’s to wifi anymore because of all the crap they’re doing.

all you have to do is show some pics of you in suit. Let me tell you if someone doesn’t go “abuh…Yes Miss ‘Roo” they will be thinking it, dwelling on it, & be making their first sample order before long.

I possibly could but right now, especially after finding out Skiggles blocked me on Bsky, I’m probably not gonna bother. The entire thing has just really sucked all desire for me to really want to visit FA.
And really that’s the one big thing out of all of this is it’s hard to visit a website where you know the people who run it really do not welcome you. I respect, and kind of envy, those who are going to sanitize their accounts to keep them.
Me? If I get banned that will tell me everything I need to know.

with everything going on with FA I really kinda wish I had been more proactive in snagging art I enjoyed. Not necessarily to fap to (maybe partially >////>) but because we’ve lost some artists due to various causes.
Now that chance is pretty much gone since I’ve not the time & my RSI in my hands & arms would cream me. Everything about this sucks -_-

I certainly can understand your feelings on this & have been in a situation myself. But believe me you will regret it more by saying nothing even if it turns out to be unreturned.
Loving someone is the most amazing thing ever, and getting it returned is is even moreso. But you have to be willing to open yourself to being hurt when you do. Not only because it might not be returned but also of losing it.

certainly sounds like! Yeah, Tufts is an absolute sweetheart & just so happy to have her in my life; both as a kit and as a dear friend. Got to spend a week visiting with her the week before BFC which took the sting out of not being able to go.

two lovely stories in one day! I’m pretty fond of hypno myself but admittedly have quite a bit of skepticism about it. That and as I mentioned previously trust issues so never really have done anything about it.
Really have to say I am happy you had not only someone you trusted to do such with but also someone good at it. Tufts just so happens to be my kit so seeing her pop up in your story was an added delight :) It really sounds like you had a delightful time and really that’s what going to a con is about; meeting people, making friends, new experiences, and making good memories.
BFC really sounds like what a hard working mom’roo needed ^_^

it certainly has been interesting to see the evolution of this. Albeit in a fustrating & horrifying manner but I’m old enough to remember when AOL offered usenet/email access on their platform for the first time. >_>
My concern really is not so much the curation or “everywhere is my space” but the legal aspects of this. We’re slowly seeing where “risky content” is being pushed off of many platforms due to this. And when you combine that with this puriteen stuff, well, they may ultimately win out in the end. I hope not but with places like YouTube, Patreon, Paypal, & even credit/bank companies already going that route my hope is dwindling.
I don’t mind really providing people the tools or places to curate what they see. But at the same time I think we’re at a crossroads where I’m no longer confident will be a free sharing of ideas without having to resort to digital back alleys.

I had to google what an incel was having forgotten. Yeah… I honestly don’t understand how they could even make that connection. Only thing I can figure is they were just being mean for the sake of because you’re a fur which I honestly find distasteful.
