Kattni has been doing some amazing work over the last few months improving our web presence, including a major cleanup of our website, and converting large parts of our documentation from RestructuredText to Markdown format. She also brings a wealth of experience in community management. We're excited to see the improvements she can bring to the BeeWare community experience.

We're proud to announce the birth of a bouncing baby... package!
xbuild (Cross Build) is a PEP517 frontend focussed on managing cross-build environments - environments where you can't run the compiler on the platform you're targeting (such as iOS, Android and Emscripten).
It includes xvenv - a tool for converting a virtual environment into a cross-platform virtual environment.
It's currently pre-alpha, but xvenv can already convince pip to install packages.

A successful #EuroPython sprint - 25 challenge coins awarded, 30 issues resolved (with a couple more in the review queue still to come), and 3 major investigations completed - including one that has the potential to resolve a long standing Briefcase issue. A huge Thank You to the EuroPython 2025 organizers, and to everyone who came along to the BeeWare sprints.

Toga 0.5.2 has been released! This release includes a number of new features, including DateInput and TimeInput widgets for iOS and macOS, an ActivityIndicator for Windows, Selection and Slider widgets for Web. It also includes a new debugging mode to help with layouts, as well as a number of bugfixes and other improvements.
