I used to love studying, playing, and thinking about poker. It was the perfect combination of math & psychology for me in my 20’s. After years of keeping a beginner mindset and learning everyday, eventually people started to say I was the best player in the casino. Whereas the people who got into the game for the money or fame (the end result) were consistently breaking even, losing, and more importantly unhappy and stressed.
After taking a step back, I’ve realized it’s a common theme I see across all industries: The result you want is more likely to come when you release the attachment to it and instead just genuinely enjoy each step it takes to get there with a smile on your face.
And once you make it to your result, you may realize the fun part isn’t the destination at all. It was simply the journey you took to get there. Because you were just having fun doing what you loved.
I believe if you spend your time doing what you truly love, you’re rich in more ways than money will ever buy.
In my opinion, this is how you will you know you’ve “made it.” You realize there isn’t a destination to get to. You are fully present doing what you love. You have an internal state of peace.
To me, this is true success.

As a poker player, I would express myself primarily through my betting, and almost never through my voice.
After quitting three years ago, I would get nervous when speaking in front of a group of 4+ and had trouble clearly articulating myself with confidence. I knew it was something I wanted to improve.
Three years later, somebody today told me I’m a natural after taking my upbeat vinyasa class. I smiled and said thanks knowing deep down it’s not true.
It’s obvious to me that you can make your weaknesses your strengths if you are willing to work little by little everyday.

I’ve noticed a small trend of xrp guys popping up every month or two around here (like one every couple months). Not preachers. but just guys who have a quiet interest. Guys who think xrp is currently being used in international trade as it offers fast transactions, bitcoin is just digital gold hence why it’s so expensive, etc. Just the classic talking points of someone like this. They are guys who seem normal on the surface, but you may notice they are typically less grounded and every so slightly more stressed.
If it somehow gets brought up, which is very rare, I’ll stay quiet or maybe ask a question or two like how long they’ve been holding xrp to see where they’re at. Simple stuff. Yesterday it got brought up with another guy who just moved here and I made the mistake of going a little deeper with the guy who had a bit of an ego and I soon discovered what a mistake that was. If this is any of your guys line of work, to discuss these matters with people, I commend you because I found it to be exhausting within minutes.
For me, I’ve always found shilling bitcoin to be very unfulfilling and largely a negative freeroll, since if they buy and it goes down, they will be upset, versus if they buy and it goes up, it’s like it was to be expected. Also throughout my life, I’ve noticed that the money you acquire will just amplify the internal state in which you live. When I was a poker player, I felt feelings of emptiness, numbness, and depression. I didn’t know exactly why at the time but it was because of the extractive nature of the work, the constant suppressing of my emotions, and the environment I was in being in a casino where everyone is against each other. So anytime I had a good month, the money I made equated to me receiving more energy, which temporarily was a positive boost, but ultimately just amplified the feelings of depression and emptiness within me.
This is largely why on nostr I discuss discovering a contributive purpose, spending your time getting healthy, developing a connection to your breath, and cultivating peace and gratitude within yourself because these are the things that absolutely changed my life the most as it took me from a depressed poker player to being more joyous and loving as a human.
Last nights conversation with the xrp guy was another reminder of this. I’ve reached a point where I don’t feel called to convince anyone of anything. If someone comes to me for advice then great, I know I can help them out in their journey, but wasting time discussing topics with people who fundamentally aren’t using logic will drain you. My intention is to preserve my energy, pour everything into my purpose and retreats, and help the people who are actively searching for it. Ultimately, I believe everyone is going at the perfect speed for their own journey in life as thinking otherwise will only lead to mental suffering within yourself. Not true whatsoever. People don’t need to be fixated in one place anymore due to the internet and the rise of the digital nomad.
It’s also rare adults will spend 100-200 hours these days to become friends which is what the retreat setting offers. Even if you go back home to different cities, people keep in contact online. There is always a possibility to moving to the same city one day, starting in person communities, starting businesses together, and many other things that weren’t possible before the retreat.
I’ve seen it happen where people meet at a retreat then move close to one another to build a community.

I hung out with somebody for the first time 1-on-1 recently. We agreed twice to meet at 3pm. There are some events where showing up late makes sense, but this wasn’t one of them.
He rolls up at 3:35pm. I ask what happened to our agreement. He said people have been flaking and showing up late on him recently so he felt called to do it too.
It sort of blew my mind that a man would supposedly change his values based on the way other people are acting. I got bad vibes immediately.
My opinion: Instead of looking at how other people act, be the example of the change you wish to see. Don’t perpetuate the same behavior cycle you don’t like. Be impeccable with your word. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

I kind of disagree with the second part. Nostr is completely open.
It’s more that all their favorite creators and friends are on the other apps which all work really well right now.
Most of the people I know that have tried primal eventually leave because there is little attention here. And the people that do post here talk about a niche issue in the world which is only interesting to a select few.

Been thinking about this for the last day. Network effects are real and most people don’t care about the fundamentals of nostr as all of the legacy social media currently works fine.
At least there is a strong userbase who does care, and the apps are getting better by the day. Who knows what will happen in the future, but at least nostr will always be here.

Your YouTube is the most interesting bitcoin content to me these days.
Everything else seems repetitive. Could be because bitcoin itself is stable, whereas fiat is volatile so the bitcoin shows primarily have to discuss fiat macro stuff to keep viewers watching.

Various ways to get there, but one of the fastest is to place your hand over your heart. Close your eyes. Connect to your heartbeat. Feel a deep sense of gratitude for everything you’ve gone through in your life to get you to where you are now. Forgive yourself for everything. Feel a sense of wholeness for just being you. Do this for 3-5 minutes. In your daily life, remember to breathe slow, deep, and full breaths. Live life in the present moment, not in the past or future.

If you seek external things like trophies, money, or romantic relationships to bring you joy, you are placing an impossible demand on them that will never satisfy you.
Choose relationships & activities from a place of already being joyous in your life, not for you to all of the sudden become joyous because of it.

Just paid the deposit for my first retreat in the @nprofile…t0pm coming in January 2027 and I'm so stoked. It's going to be such an epic week long experience of community, music, movement, nature, organic food, & good vibes.

Find a problem you really love to solve and become world class at solving it.
You’ll become internally fulfilled, externally abundant, and the world will become a better place.

My theory on people who leave hateful comments on the internet is very simply they are not receiving the love they desire in their life.
So they choose to project their pain outwards at strangers online instead of dealing with it themselves.
It’s a sad thing in reality. I typically respond with “sending love your way” and I’ve found it to be effective, because it’s what they need and it’s coming from a genuine place.
Be kind. You never know what someone is going through deep down.
