Wow! Interesting to hear Lee in this context. He starts his solo almost exactly the same as on the Blakey recording. I would have liked to hear what Oscar would have done with a full solo.

For sure! I used to play in some projects with Foley, including a number of his own. At one point, he told me that Miles had given him a recording of a private jam session where it's Miles, Herbie, Wayne, Dave Holland, Hendrix, and Stevie Wonder on drums! He wouldn't play it for me, and there's really no other way to verify if it was real, but I've always wondered ever since.

I was curious when I saw Right Off on there if you were going to play the whole cut as the opener of the show. Jack Johnson is already one of his most underrated records. Pretty bold move! Loving the show so far.
