I’d loosen off-sides rules. As long as any part of the players body overlaps with the defenders body it’s not offside. Or maybe remove offsides altogether.
I’d also say no “back-court” pays. Once you cross midfield, the midfield line becomes like the sideline, but the opponent gets a free kick from the center spot.
I’d also rigorously VAR every flop. Yes, like they did for the yellow card in n the USA vs Paraguay game, just more yellows. Like for the Paraguay goalie in the game against Turkey. Yellow or Red card that shit. Basically if you fall down, roll around grabbing your shin or head so wine gets a yellow card: you of the other guy.

@npub1xts…kk5s I use Damus on iOS for DMs & run in to a frustrating bug.
I filed the bug:

I proposed a fix:
https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/3669
But somehow it must have come across as a feature request & was closed because:
“it is not clear the real world need for this.”
1. This bug happens by accidental user rotation of the phone.
2. iPad will regularly be used in a mix of landscape & portrait orientations.
If my fix is not acceptable, could we at least keep the bug open & fix it at some point?

When you rotate to landscape (by accident) while inside of a DM conversation (which is long enough to scroll) the chat bubbles stay still?
For me I scroll way upward, then when I rotate back to portrait it scrolls somewhere else.

Whenever I accidentally rotate my screen while in a DM, the app scrolls somewhere random.
So I filed an Issue: https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/3669
And I wrote up a fix: https://github.com/damus-io/damus/pull/3670
The Damus maintainers closed both because they “didn’t understand the scenario for landscape mode in DM view”
So maybe my issue and PR made it sound like I was asking for this to be a feature. I’m just trying to stop a really bad user experience.
Can anybody put me in touch with the Damus team to make my case that this is a bug, not a feature request?

I got a phone call that my Coinbase account was being hacked. (I closed that thing a few years ago, but that’s cool, let’s play.)
So I press 1 to get the scammer to call me.
He called and said he was from Google and that somebody was trying to change my Google phone number. I played along why not, right?
So we confirmed this and we confirmed that and he sent a code to my YouTube app. But the code never came because I don’t let YouTube send me notifications.
He tried again. It still didn’t come through. And sure we spent some time verifying that I was definitely on the correct YouTube.
So he pushed some button on his side and I got a text message. He asked me to read the code to ensure what the hell what do I care? I told him he was 553826 or something like that.
He does whatever he does on his end. Of course it doesn’t work. Give me a fucking break.
So you asked me to repeat it but there’s no way I could repeat the random number that I gave him a second ago so I told my I deleted the text message.
Then he freaks out, starts cursing, threatening me. Super spicy. 🌶️
It was hilarious.
I really think that we all should press one and waste as much of their time as we can.
Think about it from a distributed standpoint, we are doing a distributed denial of service on these fuckers.
Whatever time of theirs you can burn might be what it takes to prevent them from scamming someone else who doesn’t know better.

- Alarms & timers are too easy to accidentally dismiss. (A clear-cut regression)
- Screen goes dim after I unlock it sometimes. (Back light turns off?) I don’t know the steps, but it reproduces several times every day. I have to re-lock & unlock to see the screen.
