Do you have a favourite word? One of mine is "polliwog" - a different (and better) word for "tadpole".
It's just so gosh darn cute. It's like caramel on my tastebuds, and it had it to be sung.
I wrote this one for a friend, who I may or may not have caught feelings for, who felt trapped in their toxic relationship but was too scared of the unknown to leave it 💁🏽‍♀️
Also, I just really love frogs 🐸 I would like to forfeit all my mortal possessions to them, bake them biscuits, kiss their sweet faces, and put them in my pocket so I can carry them around wherever I go.

Not just that. I have 10, almost 11 years of experience writing professionally. I know more about it than some freshly graduated infant. Degrees should only be *required* for inexperienced/entry level applicants who can't otherwise prove their competence. It shouldn't rule out hands-on experience, polished portfolios or any other credentials.

I have heard of @nprofile…nud3 but knowing very little about the protocols and such, I am intimidated by it 🤣 If I upload my stuff there, do I need a pre-existing website for it to pull from? Or, at least with the album art and RSS feed stuff I am a bit lost. @nprofile…lm7f is a new one for me! I will check it out pronto. Thanks for answering 🙏

I've debating sharing my album because it was professionally produced and therefore a bit far removed from my usual trash quality, rustic sound. But I'm eager to share my stuff here and this one, Boomerang, I feel is the perfect middle ground.
It's also a bit apt. I've been thinking of birthdays today (a friend turned 35). It's nice that we celebrate each other simply for existing. Like, "Yay! I'm glad you're here! Let's eat cake about it".
"People peopling" is what I like to call it — the every day nonsense we get up to for no other reason than we can.
Anyway, I wrote this song when, on my birthday, I realized someone wasn't good for me and pledged to cut them off for good.
So there you have it. Give it a listen if you please :D And if you know of better ways to share #music on #nostr please do explain like I'm 5 🙈

You are sorely overestimating my music and it's reach 🤣 When I said I don't make any money for it to steal, I meant that literally, as you can see in the attached picture.
I don't promote Spotify or my stuff on it further than sharing the link when I mention where my music is available. When I share directly, it's usually through YouTube Music, and to a lesser degree Bandcamp.
I definitely agree Spotify is ass, and practically singlehandedly destroyed commercial music. But, much as I dislike how this phrase has come to be a defense for wilful carelessness and wrongdoing, I think it's a case of "there's no ethical consumption under capitalism".
Starving people will eat out of the trash, unfortunately.
But seriously, I don't promote Spotify. I'm just on it. And it makes such little difference, leaving it won't spite them at all. I hated Spotify because its interface irritated the crap out of me long before artists started turning against it. My music is still up there, but I wouldn't touch Spotify with a 10-foot pole.
I'm fine with my music staying up there (for now) because it doesn't make any money for them to steal from me 🤣
My bigger concern is that they're contributing to the surge in AI generated garbage. But then again, on the public web, what software doesn't?

Hello there. I'm Rainbow Skychild, an independent musician and writer with a burning hatred for GenAI "art".
I'm also a newly hatched nostrich thanks to @nprofile…d7zz, my brother, who encouraged me to join the #plebchain.
He also filmed this video of me singing a snippet of one of my songs while on a recent expedition to the beach. My music isn't usually this calm (it's much the opposite, actually), but I was somber and defeated when I wrote it. Have a listen if you please, and let me know what you think of it :)
I'm keen to find other independent creatives here on #nostr. Just a heads up though: I am ever the extrovert, always on the prowl for new friends and sets of ears I can bother with my rants, rambles, rannygazoo and, most importantly, jibber-jabber.
