Anyone else running #nginx on #AlmaLinux 9 having issues after the latest updates?
I've got three Alma servers with nginx all giving me the same errors - looks like the response over SSL is resetting/failing somehow as the request is being received and processed but there's an error when nginx returns the stream.
Which is why, incidentally, music.key13.uk is down, as well as both evil genius robots, and a bunch of other stuff...

The Four Seasons of Bonk Wave: Autumn Waves will be the biggest Bonk Knob Records release ever.
Containing 55 tracks from 45 artists, split over three discs, the releases start with disc 1 *this friday* 10th April, continuing on the 17th and the 24th.

For those keeping track, I'm now up to 1.3 million hits on my robot website in the last five days.
Those came from over 800,000 unique IP addresses. That's a staggering number.
If it keeps up at this rate it will hit over a million unique devices sometime tomorrow.
This is a giant #botnet, right? Like, one of the biggest out there?
I'm currently doing some mapping to ASNs, to see if there's patterns.

In the last three days, my tiny honeytrap robot has had *760,000* hits , nearly all unique URL paths, from *510,000* unique IP addresses and a wide range of user-agents.
This doesn't appear to be malicious as far as I can tell - I think it's just crawling the site (which is effectively an infinite labyrinth) - although why anyone would use a #botnet for that is confusing to me.
The site is handling it, for now, but the hit rate is increasing each day.
Half a million devices.. yikes.

Feels like a real rollercoaster in the Fedi music world at the moment. So many new, exciting things on the horizon, but the two mainstays underpinning everything so far have both gone within a month of each other.
Let's hope the communities built up by those institutions will create a lasting legacy.
It's up to us now, to make sure that it doesn't all fall apart.

This was made possible by some great innovations.
First, @npub17gq…8hhz 's federated music service https://bandwagon.fm allowed us to upload the albums.
Then, an integration between #Bandwagon and #TheIndieBeat FM radio station meant the tracks could be shared directly to the station.
Finally, @npub1r7c…2mc5 created a new channel specifically for us, managed by me, and now curated by the #BonkWave contributors.
This type of collaboration feels like a big step into the future!

Faircamp isn't quite a Bandcamp replacement, although the ring does help a bit with discovery. But there's a few other sites setting up as non profit cooperatives that are more like Bandcamp.. see for example @npub1ynz…en3h or jam.coop.

I've just bought a new cat flap. Which isn't very noteworthy, except that:
A. it's internet connected (more on this later when I get it working) and
B. half the writing on the box is in German, so I now know that "cat flap" in German is "Katzenklappe" which is a delightful word!
