Nostr does not need to host child porn.
We can censor it at the time of posting, very easily, so it isnt ever uploaded to a relay.
Not only is it obviously terrible, but it is an attack vector for our competition. They will have our apps removed from app stores and banned by governments.
I wanted to make a TikTok clone. How the fuck do you keep 50 year olds from zapping 14 year olds for nudes? If I solved that, how could I keep them from going to another client to complete their transaction? I cannot abdicate responsibility to the parents, they failed the child on their part, why should WE TOO?
Nostr desperately needs censorship. I don't like seeing porn and definitely not CSAM when I open these apps. Do we know what no censorship actually means? It is more horrific than you can imagine.
But I know, let's vibecode a fucking chatbot to get zaps instead of building safeguards to protect our users and our future.

But when I come on here and immediately see an AI generated photo, followed by a meme in an 8 year old format, followed by a Nostr dev bragging about his vibe coded project he won't maintain... I just close the fucking app, every time.
I open it, wanting to have fun, and immediately am reminded that half the people here are schizophrenic or they got banned from other places for using too many slurs.
It could heal. But we need to change for that to happen.

I see less AI slop on literally every other app I use: YouTube, X, and TikTok.
Why should I come here just to zap AI photos? There are actual people on the other apps. Ive made actual friends on TikTok, and it is one hundred percent because of the algorithm. Ive gone through multiple pseudonyms, and so have a lot of my internet friends, and the algorithm connects us without fail.
Nostr doesn't do anything for you. It is a dumb protocol. Thats mostly a bad thing. Ive never had a problem with the TikTok algorithm. It shows you what you want to see and it takes 10 minutes to train it on your preferences. It isn't a magical black box, it's simple math.
But I gain nothing good from Nostr. Just 5 AI generated shit posts and some devs bragging about their vibe coded vibe coders. I can learn on YouTube, get the news on X, or interact with my peers on TikTok. How is Nostr better?

We have 3 equally shit twitter clones, for the last 3 years.
No investment into video based clients like YouTube and Twitch clones. Nostr could have been adopted instead of Rumble, but all the devs have their heads in their asses. They don't like money, fame, nor free speech. They all have AI psychosis.
The only way Nostr survives is if people voice their problems with it, and most importantly, the network listens and adapts instead of rejecting every "normie" take, to its own detriment.
We missed our opportunity. We needed a long form video app (that didn't suck), before the election in 2024. We need automated content tagging and optional content filters. But all the Nostr devs are lost in La La Land with AI.

Everyone here is balls deep in the AI slop shit. They aren't like most people, who absolutely despise AI. They can't possibly know they are out of touch because there isn't an algorithm to be had around here.
So they get no true feedback on how retarded they are.
You can go from carnivore diet advocate to flat earth antisemite, and you will still get 6 likes and 1-3 comments on every other post regardless. It feels lifeless.
Its not terrible, I just see the same 3 things said over and over again, and every third person is nuts, so I don't think it will succeed. Ive been here since mid 2024.

Another issue is the fact that TikTok owes 100% of its success to underage girls and the fact that old men like them. TikTok is popular because of Charli D'Amelio dancing at 16 in 2020 or whenever.

I would have built an algorithm and included tiny local vision/language models to generate tags. I can architect an algorithm analogous to the TikTok algorithm better than Meta and Google by myself.
But why should I build anything like that for a dying protocol run by hallucinators?
It would see relatively large adoption for a Nostr app. It could go viral on TikTok if I timed it right... But... Just.. why? All the Nostr devs have given up, they're just vibe coding bullshit they won't use in 5 years.

It is a great project. I like how genuine people are and how they actually interact meaningfully and peacefully compared to X.
But there is just 0 content. It's all AI slop of bitcoin this or Nostr that. No news. No videos. No people. The protocol could survive, but I doubt it now. Dead in 5 years.

Only fixable if a couple of us bootstrap and build our own clients without AI. Most Nostr clients are trash, and the devs are focused on other side projects so they can learn to use AI agents.
I think human programmers will always be better than AI programmers. I want Nostr to succeed, but it won't unless we abandon AI generated code. Long term.
AI will look great over 5-10 years.
Over 15-20, though...

I'm done telling people about Nostr. 75% of what I see here is AI generated photos, shit boomer ass reposts and schizo memes, and Nostr devs bragging about this or that shit prototype they vibe coded in a day. I no longer feel comfortable inviting people to join Nostr. Misplaced priorities all around.
I am done with people who use AI in production. How can you even justify that? How can THAT look good enough to you? This place just feels out of fucking touch. I don't want to build on this protocol anymore. I don't trust it, not with all this vibe coding.

Do not underestimate Russia. Those fuckers are strong. According to my gut, they're building factories that produce drones better than what Ukraine has. It isn't like Ukraine can hide their developments, Russia has easy access to space. They also openly modify the weather and no doubt can control the weather remotely like the US.
This is Drone War 1. Unless Russian leadership is genuinely retarded, Ukraine cannot win. Russia can build more factories and therefore, more drones.

I know I shouldn't, with how much time I burn on nothingness. Maybe I do need to relax and waste some time, but I just always feel like I'm doing half what I need to at best. Even when I was working overtime while doing college and sleeping only 4-5 hours a night — an obviously unsustainable standard — even then, I still felt insufficient.
It pains me because I know what I'm capable of in bursts, and I want to force myself into that level of output all the time, but it's just not how things work. In my pursuit of perfection, I burn out, every time.

This is interesting but fundamentally you are still modifying the air temperature with a radiator, just more locally.
If you wanted to replace central heating, you would end up using space heater type of things that have fans to get the air circulating.
There are pros and cons to decentralizing AC. I think it could work really well if there was a central computer that managed the individual ACs and prevented you from wasting too much energy by lowering or raising your heat. We need actual smart homes.

I think people dislike radiators because they can be a fire hazard and they provide more points of failure than a centralized radiator that heats the air. Floor heating is hard to argue with, but that also provides more points of failure. The fuel savings might be offset by maintenance costs.
But I've always liked the idea of each room having its own AC/heat. I like my room to be below 21⁰C (below 70F). Sometimes I want it to be really warm, but I don't want to increase the temperature of the whole house. It takes a long time for my room to warm up with its one vent that blows lukewarm.

I had a J35Z3 in my accord, really wanted to boost it. Its not as easy as their 4cyls.
Maybe no V8 but they are sitting on something insane for sure. Maybe it's just a built 3.0t from the type s (like 550+hp).
Then again Honda hates making money so we will see 😭 Like they should mass produce the Type R instead of gatekeeping to artificially inflate demand.

Car industry predictions for the next decade:
1. Mazda brings back Mazdaspeed (or rebrand as MSR, which would be a big miss). They will take the CX-70 RWD based platform with the longitudinal 3.3t I6, and make a longitudinal , AWD Mazdaspeed 6 to compete with BMW, Acura, Cadillac, and now Dodge (hurricane). Probably auto only.
2. Toyota puts their boosted V8 in the Lexus F cars (and 500s).
3. Honda reveals a boosted V8 and an improved turbo 6, and an e-turbo V3 for bikes, and a larger odd number V engine for cars, maybe in place of a new turbo 6, like a V5. Maybe they won't invest in the odd Vs, but they are working on something BIG in secret, I smell it. Like new S2000 big, S2030 or something.
4. Dodge shifts the Charger to be electric only and creates a new Challenger that is gas only.
5. GM invests a huge amount of money in the LF3 twin turbo V6 so it can match the output of the Hurricane motor from Dodge. They release a Chevy version of the Cadillac CT4. They might release a new turbo 4 to compete with the EA888 and K series.
6. Ford releases a new Ford GT with over 1000 HP, RWD only, like the corvette ZR1.
7. Ford brings back a hot hatch, the market shits itself.
8. Dodge releases a new Viper to compete with the GR GT, Corvette ZR1, and whatever Ford comes out with.
9. Nissan eliminates the Z line, and brings back the GT-S. R36 flops hard unless they launch it with a GT-S
Bet 50 sats on it, at least 5 predictions will come true.

It would definitely be tall, like the size of a to go mug realistically. Who knows, maybe split keyboards are good enough, I haven't used one long term.
I was thinking about getting a vertical mouse because mine is kind of hurting my wrist, and then I extended that idea to keyboards because I like weird keyboards. Like I have a CharaChorder CC2 I never use.
I don't really mind regular keyboards, I have my desk like an inch or two too high and I'm too lazy to adjust it.. But having a keyboard like I describe would prevent me from having to lower my desk... Damn I'm lazy 🤣

Someone steal this idea so I don't half ass it in 10 years:
1. Take a split keyboard, like the truly split ones.
2. Put each side on the SIDES of a vertical tower. So you type by holding the sides, holding it almost like a bowling ball in your hands, so your wrists don't rest on the desk.
3. Make the keyboard part adjustable so you can adjust the angle your hands come in at. That way you can use it on the edge of your desk as a short person, reaching up, or you can extend your arms out and reach down into the keyboard.
It would have to be compact so you don't block the monitor, but it would enforce touch typing and improve typing speed and accuracy, and it would solve ergonomic issues for most and reduce the risk of developing carpal tunnel.
If someone else doesnt do it, I might when I am stable in my CS career. I would design an open source design to be 3D printed / manufactured and assembled, a la Lalboard. It would probably use a common split keyboard design as a base.
