It think it has nothing to do with you and your relationship to each other.
My experience is that most people are what I call "sinks": they hear something but seldom tell anyone else. Some however are sources: they always do feel a need to share what they hear with people for whom the news can be of interest.
I am a source myself, and I feel irritated if others do not share, and have to remind myself that is just how they are.

Just got this from friend in the Netherlands. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1485075736106205. You would think we are completely urbanized. Coming back from our smallest island they had to get to the ferry via a dike when there was more tide and wind than expected. They are the backpackers on the right and experienced cold country travelers and had no problems, but someone nearby was swept into the sea (and rescued). After that the dike was closed but almost too late. Weather shouldn't be underestimated

After attempts with liquid nitrogen which were not sufficient, my most recent trial was salicylic acid ointment (40%). You have to persevere for quite a number of weeks and be careful when you apply it (only a little everyday) but it did it's work. Not quick and easy but no wounds or blisters.
