One thing I noticed that is different between Israelis and Americans. Israelis never give credit to their enemies. Or display any old fashioned respect for your opponent while fighting them. I remember traveling to Salt lake City for work. Stayed for a few weeks. Drove around the suburbs. I kept thinking to myself, wow, you guys have a great state. This is a very nice population. High trust. You could all move to SLC. Make it one of the great cities in America. When I asked people about this they said they preferred the suburbs to living in a city.

Israel is Israel. I don't criticize it much. It's an ethnostate that is becoming more and more conservative religious and militant over the years. That's fine. That's the whole purpose of it. The question is how does America limit Israeli influence over American politics? It's a difficult question. Israel relies on groups like AIPAC. And AIPAC is funded by Jewish American donors. Jewish Americans are the richest group in America. They are very successful. So even if 90 percent of American Jews dislike Israel. The 10 percent that do will fund AIPAC and attempts to influence politicians to be friendly toward Israel. That 10 percent will be billionaires and powerful people. And jewish Americans have an affinity to Israel. Most Americans don't have an affinity to other nations. They just see themselves as American. It's a formula. It's why I think israeli influence will never truly end in America.

A much more robust definition of intelligence, to me, is not someone who predicts the future, but someone not harmed too much by the future. The future is full of shocks and where forecasts fail, so intelligence is better measured by avoiding ruin and staying functional (buffers, adaptability, optionality) than by being right.

The other issue with judging intelligence is we get roles confused. Every functioning society requires maintainers and scouts. Like a beehive. If you're society has too many scouts lookign for new trails and food sources, and not enough maintainers, it gets destroyed. Same thing if it doesn't have enough maintainers. intelligence is a group unit, not an individual one
