Ah much more clear to the Vulcan part of my brain. I don’t know if I have the mental capacity to delve into it. Although I would like to understand all of that more, I would have to figure out what of the things I’m currently doing to drop so my brain had room to absorb it. Doesn’t seem you can choose in most clients. Nostur actually has a button you can toggle. YakiHonne has a separate list for messages but you can’t specify. Ditto shows which relays do what and can choose read/write but not auth. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yes, my point exactly. Other than tech industry people, most people I know don’t use or even know what a VPN is. We can probably assume that many who find there way to Nostr have some tech savvy, but to increase adoption either VPN is somehow included transparently in clients or somehow the rest of the world gets with it and starts using VPN’s regardless.

I started on an old iMac running Linux, then moved it to a VPS, using Signal to chat. Implemented Nostr-tools so it could have a profile and post stuff (that I approve), dm, etc. Kinda cool but haven’t figured out what to really do with it.
