I don’t know what it is about them, but ginger cats are consistently some of the best natured and affectionate cats we’ve ever had. The one in the front is 6 years old and pretty much imprinted on me as a kitten. Truly believes I am his Mom. He started life with us sleeping on a folded face cloth next to my mousepad while I worked. Or on my shoulder tucked into my neck, purring away. The other was a rescue only a week old, eleven years ago, found with his siblings next to his mother who had clearly been shot. He’s nearly human, has an actual vocabulary, and understands even the most subtle changes in the tone of our voices and our eye shape/facial expressions. It’s uncanny.
All of this, and I’m still way more partial to dogs. But these little social engineers are evolved beyond simple animals somehow. They have the best life. I understand why the Egyptians elevated them so.

Make it Make Sense
"Make it make sense", I said to myself, weeks into the Iran conflict. “Be careful what you ask for” is all I can say now lol.
The world model described below has answered many questions for me, and confirmed the models I’ve arrived at by observing the precisely timed and repeated “crises” we’ve faced since 2001, but at the same time has left me even more black pilled about the role of government in our lives in the west.
Recent geopolitical analyses by Simon Dixon are the closest I’ve found to making the high frequency narrative flip on the part of the American regime and news media regarding the Iran war make any sense, in my opinion. And it’s all about following capital flows, not news headlines.
As Simon points out in many of his podcasts and interviews, this is not a war of nation vs nation. It is purely a war of rebalancing of world polarity and asset-stripping capability sharing between the three powers: the Financial Industrial Complex, China (as the dominant power) in cooperation with the Military Industrial Complex, and the Technological Industrial Complex, all of whom's goal is to asset strip the West and humanity in general, usher in an inescapable physical and financial surveillance state, and continue to create theatrical conflicts with real deaths and destruction to keep the military industrial complex fed.
Looking at this as a war of nation vs nation for the first handful of weeks is the reason why my brain couldn't make sense of the constantly conflicting headlines. All of our governments are now puppets to corporations, the largest asset managers and sovereign wealth funds. It's why a vote for a leader in any western, supposedly democratic country hasn't mattered for over 50 years. It's the reason why despite who is in office, the same agendas we are resisting continue marching on. It's why none of the actions of the countries involved in this conflict have made sense for more than 24 hours at a time. The countries are all in bed together at the behest of the real power, the corporations and lobbies.
It behooves all of us to give some serious thought to how to live outside of the current financial system so we can still live and conduct trade when the INDIVIDUAL sanctions start coming down on those who won't accept things like digital ID and biomedical ID's and social credit score based transaction ability.
Build local community and communications capabilities. Acquire assets that can be transacted without third parties. And to as great a degree as possible, diversify your income streams to span things that can earn you value "in the system", as well as things that can't be taken away. It is easier said than done, particularly for those of us who are/were already somewhat trapped before coming to this stark realization. But it is the only possible escape for you and your offspring.

A block party invite outside on the grounds is a noncommittal way that people can opt in or out of depending on their level of interest and comfort with getting to know their fellow residents. You don’t even have to post your name just the date and the location and what to bring.
But if you have a choice, my recommendation is always to get out of a city. If SHTF, these are all the same people that you’ll be competing with for resources if the city gets locked down or is under siege like Sarajevo was for 2+ years. Read Selco Begovic’s book for some real world experience tales.
But if you must stay in the city, be armed and get a “go bag” together. Costs very little and gives a guy a chance if things get ugly.

Land is one of the few assets that approaches the hardness of bitcoin. It’s just unfortunate that most of the land we have access to isn’t truly ours by virtue of property taxation. At least if SHTF, you’ll always have a place to retreat to even if you set up very basic lodging.

One of the many rabbit holes I want to dive down soon. But portability i.e. suitability for connection to a hunting backpack is something I’ve been thinking about. As well as app connectivity, options to connect to a bigger antenna in camp, and a node that I can leave in the area we hunt, powered by rechargeable/solar. I have so much to learn. Right now my priority is getting another Start9 mini PC server/BTC node built up. The last mini PC that I bought to do so was only $800, now the same unit with a bigger 4TB nVME drive is about $1600.

Start with Maslow‘s hierarchy and work out work from there. But do it without reliance on legacy systems to as great a degree as possible. It seems to be the approach I’m taking. But I’m definitely going to run out of time and capital before I run out of ideas. Best I can hope for is to set up a Homestead that the family can rely on returning to for a couple of generations, rather than just treating it like a real estate investment like my parents did. We had 50 beautiful partially forested acres with 30 acres of it in crops. A stream running through it, and endless game. the same guy that purchased it from my parents in 1986 still lives there. I left the farm life at 15 and have been trying to get back to it ever since.

We came back from 7 days away to find everything in the garden had 2x’d. Days of intermittent, and at times heavy rain followed by blistering sunny periods not only totally took care of the watering while we were gone, but really started cranking up the plants. Including the weeds. But it’s cool, I’ll be sautéeing some beet tops to have with my eggs this morning, and enjoying my day before I jump back into the fray at work tomorrow.

We drove to a place an hour away to grab takeout and take the dog for a walk on a popular walking path. In the distance across the lake, there was a single canola field, the only piece of ground the sun could reach through the largely overcast sky. Made for an interesting contrast. An illuminated yellow band against an otherwise shadowy scene.

Our recent getaway with two of our best normie couple/friends was filled with laughs and we made some great memories. But I made a few comments during talks on the beach and around the fire about the importance of hard assets, transactional freedom, communications privacy, free speech and the whole fiat currency/melting ice cube thing, and was met a few times with the usual look as if I had two heads lol. “Like, why do you even think about this stuff?” I swear the same % of people that couldn’t see through the Covid lies are sleepwalking straight through the gates into the control grid without questioning a thing.

Efrat, amazing interview!!!! Despite it being two years ago, it still touched on so many points that are relevant today. I am so stoked that Eva is a Bitcoiner. I had no idea! But I am not surprised. As a Canadian trucker convoy attendee, I was intensely interested in the outcome of the Dutch farmer protest. But despite getting decent penetration in social media, I found it very difficult to get current information on this struggle in the Netherlands.

On a similar note it was funny the first time I found myself at home alone in our new log house when I was in my teens, I freaked the F out because every so often the house sounded like it was breathing.
