Price is per policy holder. A good holder puts systems in place that can let them lower the cost. Others pay the full cost. This is just risk analysis... And now that we have data on how much Bitcoin is being stolen over 16 years, the risk is known and can start assembling a good business model.

We need property insurance for self-custody of Bitcoin. That's the only way we can have peace of mind in the human world. I am actually shocked that we survived this long without it. I would pay up to 0.2% per year on my assets to insure them against theft.

That kinda my experience too.. but this bug on Coldcard was way too basic to survive LLMs for this long. I think LLMs could only find it after focusing them on something it.. and then once it got out, they are extremely good in finding new information on the web to use for their code search.. Now all of them find the issue very quickly.

Sounds hard to believe. Even on Amethyst and other opensource tech I use, I ask this question almost every month to see if it finds anything new...
For the record, I have asked that on Bitcoin core multiple times already. I never got anything interesting back. So, someday when we find a bug on Bitcoin Core, I can point to this reply to let people know that no, consumer AI doesn't have the power to find these things easily.

Yes, but coldcard offers 12 and 24 roll options for users and generates the rest with the regular number generator. I wouldnt blame them if they thought each dice roll makes a seed word, so they only needed 24 rolls.

It's not about using or not using dice rolls, it's about how many rolls you used. Anything on 4.0.1 or newer firmware needs more than 50 dice rolls to stay safe.

Reminder: Amethyst offers a Pokey service inside the app. Go to settings, look for Notifications, and enable the Background service. The app will stay connected to your inbox relays + joined group relays at all times. Your notifications will be much better.

Everybody is using outbox/inbox right now. Your relay lists tell the others where your posts are (outbox) and where reactions, replies, zaps should be sent to (inbox). I believe Nostur is an outbox-first client.

Also, this is happening because you have aggr as your Inbox relays. So everybody replying, liking, zapping you will have to AUTH in that relay to send the message/event.

Relay requires auth every time you use it. So, it s asking your permission to send the auth. We need to improve the screen. But this will happen every time you see node if you don't Always Allow.

We do cache it in memory so the app will fail in the first time, auto-retry with the auth, and from that moment forward it will auth in the first time.

The browser runs in a separate process from the app, fully isolating your keys, disk data, and memory from any JavaScript shenanigans.
Keep in mind that the default browser is Tor-first. So if the nostr client blocks Tor (which many do, unfortunatelly), you wont be able to access it until you disable Tor for that site by sliding down the tab up top.

A Nostr Browser is now Amethyst's 4th tab for all users. You can directly log in on any Nostr web client inside of Amethyst.
Then you can add it to your bottom nav bar in the settings and have a quick access to your preferred Nostr web apps.
No need to setup mobile browser extensions anymore.
