We know that training these models on large amounts of data produces cognitive capabilities, that's why larger models are better at doing things. But we don't exactly know what parts of the model is actually responsible for it. If we can figure it out, then we can make smaller models much more capable even though they'd be much less knowledgeable If that's the direction it takes, then eventually I expect to have some standard smallish models that can be fed huge datasets according to your needs, and companies will use these to create knowledge specific models that can run on your regular devices. Or models that can learn stuff on demand on your own system #note1n4x…s6ux npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami I will often open a client and wonder what standard/NIP it uses, and there would be no information about it. Many times I had to clone the repo and ask Claude Code to find the kinds used there and search for any open PRs etc in GitHub to find the actual NIP npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Nostr clients should add a link to the NIPs that they implement, maybe also a link to the apps that are interoperable with it. Also, their biggest marketing point is the stablecoin and token support, and privacy is not a priority yet, even though Ruben Somsen's original statechain design six years ago already came with blind signatures for ecash level privacy npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Blitz wallet, Wallet of Satoshi, Breez SDK and things built with it. Day to day DMs are better suited for Marmot (NIP-EE) Someone had already created a prototype or design for it. He was working on a nostr client of his own or just designing it not sure. Don't remember his name and can't find him in my follows now either npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami can't it just be the kinds in nip-17 with an extra subject tag or something? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Even YouTube has a 5k items limit on your watch later list, I think a limit like that on follow list entries on nostr would be good. YouTube can easily manage hundreds of thousands of entries and still chose to impose this limit and people are okay with it npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami I'm interested in new shitcoin designs. So far these three have caught my eyes Prime: https://github.com/LNP-BP/layer1 9th proof: https://github.com/adambor/The9thProofOfFolding zkcoins: https://gist.github.com/RobinLinus/d036511015caea5a28514259a1bab119 If humanity moves to another planet it'll be a new chain anyway, even if using the Bitcoin implementation, so it's better to have some new designs ready :D npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami You have opened my eyes Justin. I can now see the truth as clearly as the investors in your company can see their ROI. I'll go back to building now, hopefully can get a job at an ETH company to save up some money to commit a genocide later and bring down the world population to a lightning friendly number npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Only a few hundred million people will be able to use lightning directly self custodially because of how many channel opening txns can fit in a Bitcoin block Others will be inevitably pushed to use trusted/centralized systems So many Bitcoiners don't want to acknowledge this fact as if lying to themselves will somehow fix this npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Why do you lie so much and what do you get out of it? Almost none of the things you said here are true and you know it. Ark (Ark Labs? Second?) lied countless times on Twitter, where? "Privacy implies anonymity set, therefore at scale centralization".. wut? Lightning is a success because we needed to scale number of payments first, users weren't there yet, now with more people coming into Bitcoin, we need to find ways to scale the number of users as well. I'll keep repeating this thing for the nth time for anyone reading this, lightning can't scale how many people can use Bitcoin because of the blockspace constraints What the fuck is "physics of the chain"? There is no such thing as a federation? So one is two and two is three? A handjob is a threesome and a threesome is a gangbang in your books? What the fuck are you even talking about? I'm not on nostr because of your work either dude. You work is not that important. I have seen the evolution of nostr first hand since the beginning, it was mostly an evolution of the Secure Scuttlebutt idea "If you think you can improve upon it without trust and centralization"... I don't. I know it's not possible. What's why people are trying to build these systems with different trust models. What do you propose people do? Reduce the world population to a few hundred millions so everyone can use lightning? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Meh other than Lightspark, people building on Cashu, Ark etc have never lied about the design of their systems, everyone has always been very clear about the tradeoffs Something never taking off doesn't mean getting laughed off, come on now, be serious Also I never said Spark's only use case is pretending to be lightning, I don't even know what you are referring to You are just bitter these things are getting more attention than the things you built You know the real limitations of lightning. You know what a statechain built properly can achieve. Pretending otherwise won't do anything Lightspark is a shady company, Spark is kinda meh. But the idea itself can be implemented in a way that provides better trust minimization, scalability, privacy, and non cooperative exit than anything other than lightning. And you know very well the limitations of lightning, there simply isn't enough blockspace for everyone What if it was some other iteration of statechain that was also blinded? Lightspark says they have plans for it, but let's assume it's a entirely new protocol You get complete privacy from the operators, instant payments, configurable threshold of members in a federation, operators can't steal funds without colluding with previous owner, any previous sender can't steal coins even if they hack the federation if they are honest and deleted their previous key share, uses can always unilaterally exit by broadcasting a couple of txns, atomic swaps between lightning and statechain balance, Would you be happy with this system? This is just one iteration away from what Spark is today. Or would you call that system names and pretend lightning only somehow solves the problem for everyone? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami So you'd have been okay with Cashu, Ark and Spark if the Cashu devs, Ark Labs and Lightspark didn't run any instance of these systems and only built the software? Another dishonesty from you I recently discovered from you is in just the first few seconds of the interview you said if someone had come up with these systems 6-7 years ago they would have been laughed off stage. Ruben Somsen came up with the idea of statechains 6 years ago and no one did, in fact, no one laughed at his ideas, his presentations (available on YouTube), the Mercury Layer implementation etc. They just never took off till Spark came along npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Zapstore is one of the most important nostr projects ever built #nevent1q…pvu2 npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami So you are suggesting that - A single leaf that's been transferred 20 times still only needs 2 txs to exit (1 branch + 1 leaf) - BUT if you have balances in 10 different branches, you need 10 branch txs + your leaf txs That would make sense. Also Roy from Breez said there is a way to reset that depth by cooperating with the SE, just not unilaterally. So it's better than I thought hopefully npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Can anyone more knowledgeable about statechains and Spark comment on this? I was trying to understand how Spark works and I think I came across the fact that, to unilaterally exit the system, you can't just broadcast one onchain txn or a fixed number of txns either. You have to make n + 1 number of txns if you don't want to co-operate with the Spark entity, where n is the number of times the leaf (offchain UTXO) has changed hands. That means, since the initial onboarding txn by someone, if you are the 20th recipient of a Spark UTXO, to unilaterally exit you'll have to make 21 txns onchain. If that's correct and there is no way for the exit txn chain depth to be reset, then Spark is completely useless as an "L2", and you are better off just using Liquid or Cashu. I hope I'm wrong though. https://github.com/buildonspark/spark/issues/87 npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami People change their profile picture on nostr and I completely forget who they are or why I'm even following them Your picture is much more recognizable than your username npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Once I am free a bit, I will type out the different experiences I had using it npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami DigiLocker used to be very shitty. When I started using it (before I found Bitcoin), you could open the app to show your driver's license or Aadhar card etc to the cops, and they could verify the authenticity of it, but the app won't work most of the time, so even they would only accept a physical copy Now with it's OAuth like flow, it's actually useful for sharing your KYC info with apps that support it, without revealing your actual documents. But now I have no use for it anymore npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami I'm obsessed with Michael Levin's theories. The great thing about him is that he's also figuring out things in real time and doesn't claim to have understood everything. His ideas are constantly evolving to fit new discoveries and I love following the process along with him npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami DMing you on Signal, excited to read it npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Using giftwraps? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Shutter Island, I don't watch many movies, but this one I had to re-watch a couple of times npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami The fuck npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami আমাৰ কীবৰ্ড এপটোৰ ক'ড খিনি মই পাবলিছ কৰি থৈছো নষ্টাৰত npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Yes, but it's a native app, instead of being a web app. So it's more like GitHub desktop. npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Let's try, hopefully it works if you are using NIP-17 DMs npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Have you looked into P2POOL v2? But if someone asks what it is made of, any sane person would say metal or wood etc. I'm being dead serious, you should get yourself checked or talk to your loved ones about it. The way you are thinking right now shows very clear signs of mental illness npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Have you gotten yourself checked for Schizophrenia? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Hmm I see. I feel like people will continue to use kind 1 for all sorts of things that they consider to be a "post" and clients and relays will have to update to detect if it's a picture, or a short form video or a long form video etc Not an ideal outcome but that's what's most likely to be happen npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Why did we invent kind 20 in the first place though? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami You are thinking in analogies. I had a Bitcoiner friend who went insane and had to take a year off before resuming his work because he got too deep into the rabbit hole and started seeing connections where there were none. I'm not trying to insult you, but only relation between a fractionally reserved balance in a ledger and the quantum state of some sub atomic particle is some of the words used in the English language. They aren't related in any other meaningful way Just forget the words for a second and try to understand what you saying, it's doesn't make any sense npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Sounds like a Deepak Chopra speech, sorry. Doesn't make any sense npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami You just need $ git checkout -b new-feature $ git add . $ git commit -m 'message' $ git push --set-upstream origin new-feature These are pretty much the only commands I use. If working with Claude code, I don't eve use git add, I use VSCode to add files, so that I can tell which files I am okay with committing, and which files I am yet to review. Then I push to GitHub. I don't even merge branches using git locally, I use GitHub PRs for that. How are you using it? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Yes. The problem is not QR codes, it's the huge dynamically changing QRs. Smaller static QRs are a better UX than tap to pay npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami I like QR codes better. The UX of UPI payments in India is really great. Bigger stores have POS devices, but small shop owners can just open any UPI app on their phone, take a printout of their QR code and stick it somewhere. For payment confirmations, you have these voice boxes that they can connect their apps to and it's easier than tap to pay, you don't have to be close to something to pay npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami You are absolutely right! npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Gave him a follow using Primal as well, no issues on my end npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Which app is he using? npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami I asked Claude to create a .sh script that uses the nak CLI tool to start looking at your posts starting 2020. If no posts found, move to next year. If post found any year, start from Jan to and go month by month to find posts. There is probably an easier way, this is what just came to my mind. You can do something similar using JS instead of shell script, and run it locally to find your posts Now that you already have this post, you can ask Claude to make a small app that shows you 100 kind 1 notes, starting from the timestamp of the note above with pagination, to find all the stuff npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami https://nostr.at/nevent1qqsgee0w8uqamkqjm8fe59pekcrz99zszn9uax8nt38j3nn7ekhzv7spp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqzyrxg6pewlhxxwm7t4s20dntgyhkux4mw2h4hs632ja0wqd9x5qnvkhrwlep Oldest kind 1 note I could find npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43921624 npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami https://undocumented.nostrkinds.info/ this can also be helpful npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami ah the horrors of vivecoding npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami What kinda stuff? I think WalletScrutiny uses it for wallet reviews, but that's the only slightly off usage of this kind that I know npub1gmm2ehusvs35zgh6pq84m8hkj4ea0ygy3c9j2e3slzhjjce3kmns5tdaz2 basantagoswami Ancient Farsi and Ancient Sanskrit were very close. Another fun fact, the gods of Vedic Hinduism, the ones no longer worshipped, were the villains of Zoroastrianism
