New service is available in SelfPrivacy! Actual Budget (https://actualbudget.org/) is a privacy-focused app for managing your finances, and it is the first service contributed to SelfPrivacy by the community. Big thanks to @npub1z5t…50r9 for developing the module and sharing their experience.
Actual Budget supports SSO but doesn't support automatic admin permissions. The first user to log in will be an admin, and permissions of others can be managed in the app's interface. You can install Actual by upgrading your server to the newest version and then going to the Services catalog in your SelfPrivacy app.
(A note for fellow GrapheneOS users: the Actual Budget web app requires JavaScript JIT permission that you might need to enable in Vanadium's website settings)

SelfPrivacy 0.13.0 is out now, and it finally brings Single Sign On support, powered by Kanidm under the hood.
New servers will have it enabled by default, but for existing ones there are some caveats: please read our blog post for more info: https://selfprivacy.org/blog/2025/04/25/version-0.13.0-release/
We've also added a new service to our catalog: the to-do app @npub1e5q…2ndt. It supports SSO out of the box.

Hello, this is SelfPrivacy team.
We wrote an app which helps one to get rid of Google Drive and gmail and some other big tech.
It makes setting up your own services easy, and we think it is easier than Yunohost.
SelfPrivacy works from your phone or desktop. You register with a server provider of your choice, then you put server credentials in the app and it works for 25 minutes setting things up for you.
Currently included: E-Mail, Nextcloud (google drive-like), Git forge (Forgejo), Bitwarden (password manager) and some others.
If you add some storage cloud, application can do encrypted back-ups of those services, too.
Your servers are your own and the app has no telemetry. We only wrote code so you don't have to do it by hand, and this code is open.
We think that privacy should not be a privilege of tech-savvy people and hopefully this helps someone who struggles with other privacy tools.
