Mojeek is outside the EU. That's a non starter for an EU sovereignty movement, isn't it?

According to the article I linked they vent live with the joint venture last year. If they serve 50 % from their own index now, that's sound like a good start. Google wasn't built in three years either.
What do you think would have been the better way to do it?

On the the social web there are quite a few servers with income. Some servers are donation based, some have EU grants, some are subscription based, and some are hosted by for profit corporations.
We on Mastodon.green use 20 % of the income to plant trees.
In generalized terms what we're doing can be called turnover based climate action.
