I was going to jokingly suggest someone make a tech startup dedicated to doing for keycaps and switches what AI and Crypto did to graphics cards and RAM, then I remembered the techie bumholes buying vintage tech to 'salvage' the vintage keyswitches from working retro computers and keyboards. They're already ruining things without my help.

The machine can't 'get it wrong' when you view civilian casualties as a bonus and as part of your wider goal. All the machine does is provide a figleaf to help give people who want to make excuses for genocide something to glom onto and point at when they claim the deaths weren't an intentional choice just down to flawed tech.
Who made and sold the tech to kill people knowing it was flawed?
Who knowingly deployed the tech to kill people knowing it was flawed?
Doesn't matter, it was the tech's fault, no further action needed. No blood on anyone's hands, just that bad AI again. Nothing to be done.

I kind of suspect the loud voices frustrated at Mastodon and declaring it dead or an echo chamber are doing so because they cannot find a way to rig the system in their favour or at to win like Twitter.

Centralising everything for convenience was a horrendous mistake and led to large chunks ofnthe web endinf up the fiefdoms of absolute sociopaths like Dorsey, Spez, Zuckerberg and the willing funder of Nazis over at Substack. Why should anyone visit a site when every update is on Twitter first and all community discussion buried on discord and reddit?
