True. This is said easy. But many people clearly seem to fail to get on this track. We as a society should make sure, that this style of living is the most affordable one.
I mean many social states suffer under huge health bills, while those causing it, make big profits. First those which sell junk and then those who cure the symptoms of it. When junk producers are forced to pay all the bills for health-related problems they cause, realities can change quickly I assume.
This junkification of food is a recent problem. And it is so clear, that it will not go on like this for long. Those societies which solve it, will economically gain huge advantages over societies, which go on with the junk-economy.
It is only a question of time until those countries which allow unresticted selling of junkfood and softdrinks will empoverish.
So I would really like to solve this in Switzerland and get out of this trap.

I am really thinking, if we need laws, which tag the price of those chronic deceases to products, which cause it.
It seems as osempic treat a symptom of a problem without any intent to improve the problem. When the ultraprocessed products, products with sugar and so on will have to pay all caused health issues, probably societies come to a much healthier balance.
Are there #swiss health experts on Nostr, which would support such an initiative?

Development of apps needs testing. And testing needs users. And for anyone starting any development, some amount of users are maby needed as well to motivate the effort.
Operating systems come with a huge networkeffect. I think opensource development will be thrown back years, when Goodle actually commits to their proposition.

Finde ich eine interessante Sendung. Geht auch um die Frage: "Wozu lebe ich?" und "Wenn ich jeden Tag meine Wünsche zurück stecke, möchte ich dann länger leben?"
Mir scheint, wenn solche #longgevity zentren auch gezielt auf unsere Unsicherheiten abzielen. Wenn ich am Ende die beiden Ärzte höre so nehmen diese eine sehr skurrile Position ein. Gerade der Arzt spricht in der dritten person (man sollte...), während dem eigentlich klar ist, dass dies seinem persönlichen Wunsch entspricht.
Es wirt versucht, dass Menschen den Tod herauszögern. Doch das Warum scheint mir von seitens dieser Ärzte nicht umstösslich. Wie in stein gemeisselt, dass dies legitim ist.
Ich denke jede perso kann das machen. Darin sehe ich aber keine moralische Tugend. Es ist eine Entscheidung so wie viele andere. Man muss es wollen und dann ist es gut.

Good idea. But in practice it is not too easy to do this while knowing only your voters can participate. And not some foreing bot-net.
The same problem as with digital voting.
I really would recomment the system we have in Switzerland. Here the parlament can write new laws. But the public has the power to stop every law by public vote.
So like a veto of the population. And even we can vote over new articles in the constitutions by popular vote only.

I am always on the look, to use more #libre tools, to be more independent. Mostly in #privacy concerning parts. For example I still listen to music via Spotify and Youtube. Today I am trying zap.stream and my first impression is good. At least I am satisfied, to find some music stream to follow while working.
For me every connection to Bigetech, which I can find an alternative or just not do it is a win. So thanks a lo to the @nprofile…k2zx team and the artists and activists already supporting this with content.

I think there is only woke.
Woken up, being concious of what happens around one and act accordingly.
Really the political spectrum is not something that would metter in the daly life of most. Usually in real life one has personal chellanges and finds forms to master them.
Most political actions are also just an attempt to solve a existing problem.
I can respect all real attempts to improve something, while I have totally no respect of those who blame others for their issues, even when they are not the rootcause.
I know it is more easy to blame minorities for a problem. But this is not right or left. It is simply wrong. In a really objective perspective.

Since 2022 I am using Anki to learn vocabulary. And think it is among the best ways to learn something by heart.
The system is called spaced repetition. Means to wait for a long time until you repeat a word you are very familiar with and repeat those often, which are difficult to remember.
Today I realized, that this is the system basically all advertisment is using. When something seems of little importance to a consumer, maby he considers the product or brand more important, when shown more often.
Advertising is like an external learning process with participants that did not subscribe for it.

In den USA werden die Staatsschulden immer mehr zu einer Schlinge um den Hals des Staates. Ich denke wenn der Zenit erst mal erreicht ist und Grosse investoren die Schulden nicht mehr tragen, so ist die USA beim staatsbankrott.
Ich denke dieser Schritt wird unsere Weltwirtschaft stark erschüttern. Und wenn keine Regierung bereit ist Militärausgaben runterzufahren und das Gesundheitswesen zu reformieren, dann geht wohl kein Weg daran vorbei.

Yes probably I was a bit too fundamentalist, when writing the last comment. I am sorry for offending. Maby read a lot of FSF-philosophy articles just the same day.
But it is true, that there are a lot of good companies dedicated to some idea, which just did not have the chance to learn, that they could deliver their services through free software too.
Defnitly chessdotcom does actually a lot to promote chess. And that is a good goal on its own.

Is it that you are against mixing religion and state in general? I can totally agree to disagree with mixing religion and democratic lawmaking.
But I agree, that Jews need their country, so there is at least some place dedicated to protect jews. Every other world religion is much more represented in nation states.

Through the long term build up of conspiracytheories about jews, it is easier to blame them than most other minority groups.
Whenever a politician legitimated by popularity caused a crisis, it is a comfortable way to blame others for it.
A minority that was blamed more often is far easier to blame. People can then relate to all the other events they were blamed too. So tupid people start to belief the lies, since they are to find in enough references.
But those people who want problems solved better look out for the rootcause of the problem. And in most cases it is too unprobable, that whatever problem is vanished, when a minority group is not participating in society.

Was thinking about the verified software publisher. Can we not just share contactlists of verified free software developers and they set up an automatic release node, where every developer can send their projects through.
So that some verified developers would just act as proxies. Similar to how snowflake the tor bridge delivers free internet.

Für mich ist es ein Ja für den #klimafonds trotz der möglichen Mitnahmeeffekte und einer möglichen Umsatzung wo das Verursacherprinzip ausgehebelt wird.
Die Schweiz ist nicht auf Plan beim plan zur Klimaneutralität. Und ich gehöre klar zu den Menschen, welche einsehen, dass jedes zehntel Grad mehr Klimaerwärmung unsere Lebensgrundlagen vermindern.
Fazit: Ich stimme ja, für eine souveräne Energieerzeugung in der Schweiz und fu Netto null 2050. Dies obwohl es bessere Umsetzungen gäbe, wo die grossen Emmitenten für die emissionen Lenkungsabgaben zahlen und mit Verboten krasse Überschreitungen abgestraft werden. Jedoch habe ich lieber eine zweit beste Lösung als ohne Lösung ins Verderben zu schlendern.

Und ich denke in unserer industrialisierten Welt können wir eine Menschliche Gemeinschaft gründen, welche füreinander schaut. Wir können gemeinsam Armut und Unterdrückung bekämpfen.
Ja es ist mit aufwand verbunden. Doch ein Aufwand der sich auszahlt.

To set this true. European representants are elected by the population. So they have a democratic legitimation.
I would also think, that more sovergnity needs to go to the local governments. To minimize the influence of the european union would defnitly stabilize the union.
But I refuse to follow fascist narratives, that migration control would be a solution to economic problems. There is simply no data to support this.
Criminals need to be responded with the law. Independent of the migration state. But most of the imigrants work more than home grown and commit less criminal acts. So they are an economic stabilizer.
We should question people in power, which come up with such comfortable easy solutions. Maby they are just no solutions at all.

Defnitly a good point, where the lack of privacy is costly. When people stop doing moves they are insecure in, because the chance it gets publizised is high.
I really think, that opt out privacy rules need to be illegal. Users have to actively choose every datapoint they want to share. Nothing by default.
When privacy means, that I decide with whom to share what data, so only optional opt-in mechanisms can even be called #privacy.
We started into unregulated digital companies. But this is nothing we have to go on with. We can change the norms. When enough people want it, we will have a privacy first constitution. And fistr and formost a privacy first economy.

And I totally see, that some people want things all personalized without compromises.
But I think those are not the customers of libraries in the first place.
And libraries do not loose their usefullness, because they do not work for some people. They only die, when they are not used by anyone.

But don’t you think, that every single onedimensional problem also has a very small number of possible best solutions?
So no matter if one increases implementation centrally or decentralized. In the end there is an objectively better solution.
And I feel this will be found faster, when efforts are put to the same project instead of having millions of projects trying to get the same result.
Somewhere there needs to be communication between the codebases anyways.
But I am neighter 100% sure if my intuition is correct or maby your one is better.

But reusing code is also a form, to build trust towards less technical knowledged people. And it comes to some form of standardization, which can ensure some level of quality.
Transparency is probably worth nothing, when everyone uses a totally different set of dependencies anyway.
Security can also be improved by cocreating a source base instead of everyone creating their own. It is hard for a small project to implement good security, without using libraries.

True, when one reads through their announcment, they seem to go quiet a good way, to protect users privacy at best, while protecting the children and teens (which probably make up the greatest amount of users).

I asked myself this morning, if mass surveillance can even be compatible with democracy and our human right to privacy.
So I question:
1. Can a state collect and store data of any individual, that is not convicted of any wrong doing?
2. Should any private institution or company have the right to collect and share our data and metadata without explicit action (like issuing a search, sending a file to someone or giving access to it)?
3. Should sharing of our data and metadata, as tracking and advertismentcompanies do it be legal in a democracy?

The money generally follows the value. It is quiet hard to create valuable content, so it would be able to work as primary income.
Construction, teaching in schools and things like this are probably more likely to offer jobs for many instead of some online remote work.

I am easily distracted. Most probably I always had some attention problems. But it seems to me in the last years it got worse.
So here and than I am trying to find patterns, that help me to focus and organize better.

Select only one task I want to finish and focus on the proces of this task.
Only when the task is done or my enery low, I will consider a break.
Set my workplace up for focus. Keeping a clean desk to work with. When I am thinking of it. Would some of you be very annoyed, when I post a picture of my worklpace every day?
I would be happy to be critizised, since I tend to chaos quickly 😂

I assume you do not read this comment.
My approach of understanding a situation is questioning myself: Why did perso A write what they wrote? and then Why did person B wrote what they wrote?
Then I try to come into a creative mode, what triggers could have let someone to do it. Afterwards I try to find out, which option is most probably.
I think this is quiet an analytic process. I try to understand. Not to blame an entity or a person.
Many people seem to skip the urge to understand someones action and go directly to judgment. This seems flawed to me.
And judging without telling what is good seems a void message as well.

I had the opportunity to grow up in Switzerland and learn German, French and English in public school.
Before 4 years I started my journey to learn Spanish by my own without school, since I did never like the build up in schools.
Now I am starting with chinese.
When I started with Spanish I learnt about the free software Anki. And to everyone out there, who wants to memorize whatever, I can really recommend to use Anki.
It is not fancy. It is hard learning.
But it is very efficient to remember what you learn for a long time, since it uses a spaced repetition algorythm.
And as it seems neuroscientists are at a great consensus, that spaced repetition is what enforces remembering something the most efficient way.
So when you, your child or any loved person is really wanting to learn something to last long. Recommend them Anki.
(Setting up a lists and writing cards is already part of the learning process. When writing your own sets you can learn whatever with it. But there are even good sets to download, if you have only the goal to start learning a language for example.)

So. To your definition, can there be representatives in a democracy? How many cav there be? Can there be a president in a democracy? Can there be made laws without popular vote un a democracy? How many people within a space can be excluded from voting and it is still a democracy? By what rules, you have the right to vote?
When all these question are not answered just the same by most people. Then probably there are different types of democracy. Democracy is a cluster of states, that agree, that there is a group of people which can vote for the lawmaking organs.
So it would be silly, to think that a democracy is a very clear norm. Just look at how the USA, Germany, France and Switzerland implemented democracy.
Which one is the only correct democracy in your idea?
Not even in Monarchy you would be true. Great Britain, Thiland and Liechtenstein are all Monarchies. Are they the same? In no way. Liechtenstein has a similar democratic system as Switzerland has. Still they have a Monarch, that can decide on almost everything. The speciality is, that the people of liechtenstein could fire him from office, whev they do not want their monarch anymore.

Democracy defnitly is not a yes or no question. I agree, that there is many different implementations of democracy.
I would argue, that in a place where there is more federation, local constitutions and power goes from the bottom up, when needed, then it is best matched democracy.
But I think it is a human issue, just the same as with security. Security is an investment. One invests extra resources to ensure data, or other goods.
The same way, it is an investment to be politically active. One has to invest time, to participate. And some are more willing to invest this time, some less or not at all.
So a good democracy depends also on the number of willing people to actively participate, discuss and find good solution.

Defnitly voters have power.
In good democracies the votecounting is supervised, so the counter can not influence the number too easy.
Supervisors come usually from different places. Often even different countries.

True. When it was about democracy, there is probably better ways than military actions.
Provide Schools, educate about private communication and decentralised technology. And maby not in other countries. But within the own borders. Since freedom and democracy needs good educated citizen.

I just recently read the great longform articles from @nprofile…u8g0, which show, how privacy is far easier to preserve than to intrude anothers privacy.
Also the Observe Organize Decide Act protocol, which is refered from effective military planning seems such a crutial pattern to use to imbrace personal freedom.
And while starting to write a short article about "how to embrace freedom in an orwellian world" I realized, that I need a off-time, where I stop to comment, stop to consume videos and the news, to embrace more freedom myself.
To break out of my castle of consumprion and start doing stuff.
So goodbye for some days (I did not plan this nor do I plan for how many days to stay away).
