Unterdessen versuche ich mein altes Galaxy S9 mit #eOS (nicht #grapheneOS) zu bestücken. Scheitert aber schon daran, dass ich die "OEM Unlock"-Funktion in Android nicht bekomme (vielleicht auch, weil es ein ehemaliges Vodaphone Firmenhandy war). 7 Tage Warten könnte helfen. Das kann ich gut.

There were condemnations by the chruch (yes, really), medals returned in protest, spontaneous demonstrations (in Germany!). And today, at the eleventh hour, a handful of dissenters within the conservative bloc in parliament. The motion failed.
The would-be next chancellor who kicked this off retreated to his lair, mumbling about revenge after the election.
So was this a watershed moment? Maybe. We sort of fumbled the ball, then didn't. Time will tell.

will be in a position to dictate terms to their coalition partner. "Say yes to our demands, or we'll do it with the nazis". Of course, that's not the official version. The offical story is "we would never". Except they just did, three weeks before the election.
So what happened? For once, Germans reacted with some degree of urgency.

Now the biggest bloc, conservatives, made a power grab. Using a mostly manufactured crisis, they introduced anti-immigrant legislation. Their threat: pass this law with us, or the nazi party will.
Now cons and nazi don't have the votes, but they very well might after the election. Thing is: everybody swore on their mother's grave never to do business with the nazis, not to get laws passed with their help. So this was a table flip.
Why? So after the election, the large conservative bloc 2/m

In case anyone in the Fediverse isn't native in German but heard that something big went down. Here's what.
We're in between governments now. In theory, parliament can run wild and do what they like. But that's no way to run a country, so all the parties agreed to not. Election's coming up in three weeks.
(It's a long story filled with sighs how we ended up here, but no matter).
