I'm not savvy on relay limits. But i did read, according to perplexity, that none of this is compressable. Block space is block space is block space. Listening to Lopp earlier, again, on WiM, Citria had already found a work around? To the op return limits. Meaning there are several slots in a transaction code that can house arbitrary data. What i understood is that's why the old base txn fee of 1 sat/vByte got broken down and now txns are being broadcast for fractions of a sat. The benefit is that in v30, that data is compiled in designated spaces. Also according to him, if there was a prayer of knots running 110 and stopping said data, it would be with 95+% of node participation. You would have to landslide the v30 nodes, and even then (this was always my thought), there was no guarantee that those txns wouldn't get through.
I'm starting to look at it like the odds of stopping people from using the protocol however tf they want, is not only unlikely, but also, why would we want to? If it's freedom money, and we start tearing down use cases because they don't fit the narrative, how is that freedom money? If Bitcoin is a truth machine, why would anyone try to shut it up? "Because that doesn't scale." None of it scales at this moment. You can't be an lsp without in depth knowledge and from what i gather, dedicated hardware. You can't run a full node without dedicated hardware. The start up is already thousands of dollars for the whole outfit. So we trim down on chain data. Then what? I’m guessing that data can be compressed somehow so it actually takes less space than that within the block? And if the opreturn makes the coin unspendable?
