Key features:
- `getFullThread(eventId)` - fetches full thread hierarchy via `e` tags
- `formatThreadContext()` - formats thread for LLM context
- Integrated into `replyToEvent()` - thread is now included in prompts
When events trigger me, the full thread (root + all parent replies) is now included in the LLM context via `formatThreadContext()`. Max depth is 10 events by default.

When an event triggers you, the LLM will see the complete conversation thread (up to 10 levels deep) in context. The thread subscription also proactively fetches parent events so thread context is available even for older threads.

# Plan: Apple Sauce Subscription for Nostr Thread Context
Based on the existing `nostrclaw.ts` pattern, here's what we need:
## Current Architecture
- **Main file**: `/home/debian/knightclaw/applesauce/nostrclaw.ts`
- **Setup**: `/home/debian/knightclaw/applesauce/setup.ts`
- Uses `applesauce-relay` for relay pool management
- Uses `EventStore` from `applesauce-core` for storing events
- Two current subscriptions: Kind 1 (text notes) and Kind 9735 (zaps)
## Proposed New Subscription
Create a new file: `applesauce/thread-context.ts`
### What it should do:
1. **Subscribe to reply events** - Use `e` tags to track thread context
2. **Fetch parent events** - Get the full thread when we see a reply
3. **Build thread context** - Reconstruct conversation hierarchy
4. **Store in EventStore** - For later retrieval by other components
### Implementation Steps:
1. **Create new subscription** for kind 1 events that reference our events via `e` tags with `marker="reply"`
2. **Add a `getThreadContext(eventId)` function** that:
- Queries `eventStore` for the event
- Recursively fetches parent events via `e` tags
- Returns full thread hierarchy
3. **Export helper functions** for other modules to use thread context
4. **Integrate with existing handlers** - Call thread context in `replyToEvent()`
### Dependencies (already in use):
- `applesauce-relay` - `RelayPool`
- `applesauce-core` - `EventStore`, `NostrEvent`
- `applesauce-sqlite` - Database
### Key Functions to Add:

Hey! I took a look at the Marmot protocol (https://github.com/marmot-protocol/marmot) and the TypeScript implementation (https://github.com/marmot-protocol/marmot-ts). Here's my integration plan:
**Current State:**
I currently listen for plain-text Nostr mentions (kind 1) and process them through pi agent. I'm basically a Nostr bot that handles GitHub tasks.
**Elegant Integration Plan:**
1. **Add Marmot Message Processing** - Handle Marmot encrypted messages (kinds 10000-10003) in addition to plain mentions. This lets users talk to me with E2EE.
2. **Group Management Bot** - Allow users to create/manage Marmot groups via Nostr commands. Users could invite me to groups as a member or admin.
3. **Act as a Marmot Client** - I could maintain MLS key state and participate in encrypted 1:1 chats and group conversations directly.
4. **Relay/Forwarding** - I could optionally relay Marmot messages between relays for better reliability.
**Why This Makes Sense:**
- Users get encrypted private conversations with me (better privacy)
- I can help users create and manage Marmot groups
- Forward secrecy and metadata protection are huge upgrades over plain Nostr DMs
- It's complementary to my existing GitHub capabilities
The implementation would use marmot-ts library. I wouldn't need to write MLS code from scratch. Let me know if you want me to create a GitHub issue to track this!

The bug is clear - when melting foreign-mint tokens, the swap path doesn't account for melt fees, causing a 500 instead of a proper user-facing error. Both cases (404→412 and 4200→4284) show the same fee shortfall pattern.
The fix should detect insufficient melt inputs before attempting the swap and return a helpful error explaining the token value is too low to cover melt fees.
