As someone who is skeptical of the current AI tools like Claude and Codex, I believe this to be true.
The only positive right now is markdown getting its due. If AI makes people use md files and learn it, that’s a good thing for machines and for me.
Learn markdown, it’s easy, it can be very useful and extremely fast.

We just did the work not make up titles for a long as time.
GRC Engineering is not really a thing. We just call that engineering. In fact I will go one further and say that GRC Engineering is not a thing as GRC and Engineering are and will always be separate disciplines, as one must be able to provide oversight….
No dude, you didn’t coin anything but I do think your writing about GRC and evidence collection with continuous delivery is cool. We just used to call it integration and tooling.

Because I do silly stuff, I went to the Delve.co career site and they list a Senior GRC specialist role for hire.
Now I am not gonna kick them while they are down but maybe that should have been a hire a long time ago….
Maybe hiring GRC experts is a good thing for your GRC tool/platform when building trust as a new player in the space.
Pretty sure AI would have told you that….

My heart was lifted this morning reading about the Delve issues and I am ready for it.
I just posted to LinkedIn that I am available to help organizations using tools like Delve, Vanta, Drata, etc… to evaluate their current GRC programs and help them make Risk based decisions on assurances and assessments.
GRC is my jam, compliance is my happy place, controls, I love them, and I have time.
Heck, maybe you’re stuck in this position and need someone to help get back on track, I got you.
So many companies are about to get rocked through TPRM and the “Show me your SOC 2” is not going to be enough.
If you have ever had to meet the GRC requirements of a big financial company or other highly regulated industry, you know the time required to meet the need, your clients will start demanding the same.
Oh, and the insurance industry must be losing their minds now that there is a massive question on security and liability.

Got out of the house and went for a walk. Lots of raptors out today. Most impressive was the osprey, biggest I have seen on the west coast. Flew next to a bald eagle and it was twice the eagles size.

@nprofile…umu7 nice photo. Looks like an early 00’s Road King. More than likely a 103CI engine, custom paint and handlebars. Looks like the engine has been upgraded, stage 1 or stage 2 level upgrades. The flame paint is true to the era but it’s not common on Road Kings, more common on the FXRs. It’s a well loved machine for sure.

@nprofile…0m57 I should walk over there, it’s a couple blocks from my house and bought my current machine there. They do have some notions but a small supply and don’t recall zippers. I bet they could help me find some though.
I didn’t think of them right away because they are very much a machine shop but have a decent selection of quilting and embroidery stuff. I will pop in on Monday and check.
I do recommend the shop, they fixed up my singer for me before I figured out that the bernette craft 05 was a much better machine for the money. Very knowledgeable and quick on repairs.

I went to four stores in the South Seattle area looking for a zipper to fix a jacket.
Not one place had anything acceptable. The closest was small pocket zippers. There used to be a time you could go to a store and touch things, even purchase them outright.
Even online ordering is not easy. I just want a YKK #5 style antique brass zipper with pull and locks, 3 foot length tape.

Something I have an interest in is Cannabis compliance. Helping small shops and growers get through the hard stuff.
My girlfriend pointed out it’s an industry that you have to be involved with, know people, due to the nature of the business.
A local shop has a position, part time that would be perfect to get into due to the volume and traffic of sales (I track local shops via the state). I applied, maybe it works maybe it doesn’t.

Got more info and lots of speculation on this whole dealership debacle.
My dealership (JetCity) bought the Tacoma dealership (destination) from dealership 3(silverdale).
So the sum total is.
Destination HD is now Silverdale HD, Jet City is dead as is Seattle HOG Chapter 4486, and Destination HD Tacoma will be renamed to something else.
Minimal changes for the teams in Renton and Tacoma other than moving everything to Tacoma and shuttering Renton, all staff is consolidating into Tacoma and there will be a growth in providing service for bikes.
All of this is great for Tacoma, horrible for Seattle.
What it means for HD riders in the PNW is, Eastside H-D is the ONLY full H-D dealership in King County. Just 3 years ago there was 3 dealers.
What I am bummed about is losing all the history of Downtown Harley-Davidson. I just started to document the living history of the shop and people but it’s gone, just like that.
Between losing Great Nowthwest HOG (first PNW chapter) and Seattle HOG in 2 years is a massive shift in the riding culture of Seattle.
Not sure what I am gonna do but more than likely end up in Eastside HOG who also sponsors GNW HOG history and chapter info. Tacoma may do the same with Seattle but I doubt it.
Independent dealers are getting ripped apart by groups like MOD and TMC….kinda sad

Just found out my local #harleydavidson dealer is closing. That alone would suck normally but it also means my HOG chapter will have to change.
Here is the crazy part, it means more than likely the biggest city in the state will no longer have a Chapter. Eastside Harley already bought the Lynnwood shop and closed it now Jet City is moving to Tacoma, leaving the Seattle HOG chapter to hold while dealerships figure it out. I am a primary officer so who knows what I’m in for…
I could move to Eastside HOG as it would be a lot closer than Tacoma.

Just had a big old Hawk sitting on my back fence. He looked miserable.
Last night my lil birb started going nuts at 830pm or so and we couldn’t figure out why. Pretty sure the hawk was in our dogwood tree and he saw it.

Finally got to the range with the new .357. I like it a lot, only thing I need to change about a the grips, even for my small hands the grips are not great but not horrible.
Ended up shooting 9mm, range .357 (50 rounds each), and 12 rounds of hollow point.
Overall, the 135 grain flat tip .357 range load worked best for me but the hollow points were not bad.
The girlfriend shot for the first time and did great. She followed the rules, loaded, and unloaded every shot she took. Her stance needs some improvement but she can hit the target and put 4-5 rounds in center mass.
She was impressed I was able to center mass tight group my firing as was I with a new gun with zero time to sight it.
Did all my shooting from 10 meters and 1 round at 7m.
Still bothers me seeing everyone shooting glocks at 5 meters and no further. Even the few rifles were shooting 7m…

AI is pretty nuts. ChatGPT uses way less tokens than Claude and it’s not even close. I think it’s how OpenClaw uses each model but fuck if I know. All I know are s I never came close to using all my daily tokens with ChatGPT regardless of where I used it but yesterday (first full day using it) Claude used all my tokens in an hour just doing a docker pull and start. Not even joking, no wonder why everyone is pissed about AI.
We shouldn’t need this much compute for something that a human can do in 13 seconds.
Fix your shit AI companies. If you require more compute than it takes a human, a human should never be tasked to use AI, ever.

That was one of the best cooks I have had in a year or two.
For the record, I am professional trained and was a working cook, and my last professional gig was in a steak house as a GM for a small Southern California chain, out of San Diego.

Max Verflappen has been cleared to race this weekend!
Max has recovered to 99% and other than growing some feathers back on his neck and tummy, he’s s happy, and healthy post hawk fight.

Decided if the US Federal Government has the cash to drop bombs, it has the cash to get me into some new certs.
Jobs are just not coming in and when they do, they don’t pay a living wage.
Seriously, $20-$30 per hour for work that normally pays $150-300 an hour is ridiculous. Seeing companies rape workers is not good.
Last contract paid less than I made in 2010, by half. That’s with knowing someone.
That said, if you need a good solid GRC program, hit me up, last couple years have been EU AI Act, ISO 42001, AI RMF, and other compliance based work based on practical use in high stakes situations.

Got an email from my coffee subscription about a new mug they have coming out. It’s Deneen Pottery which I like and it’s a tankard size (18oz), cool design so I order it.
Later this afternoon I had delivered a mug from the same company and I was a bit confused but apparently I used some points last month for the Mystery Mug and forgot about it.
It was another tankard (it was a gamble but I like a lot of the Deneen mug styles) from Halloween, which was also a fun design and color.

It’s funny, I ride in groups with no comms with just hand signals and hopefully a pre ride but with my girlfriend riding her trike and me mostly leading it really helps me focus on the surroundings without worrying about looking behind me every 2 seconds.

Noticed today on my ride I am blowing something out of somewhere but can’t find any leeks, my oil levels and brake fluid looks fine but my air filter seems to be doing something I don’t like. Either they didn’t clean/replace my filter last service or something is not right. Seems like a bit of gas so maybe some condensation got in there, not surprising considering the damp wet mornings.

It was a beautiful day to ride in Western Washington today. Tons of bikes out and it warmed up nicely.
171 miles for today, no real elevation but did have better speeds then average.
Girlfriend did a great job navigating the highway and dealing with highway speeds. Headsets make it much easier to feel comfortable riding together. She is talking a road trip weekend out to the coast 🥰.
She rides because it’s my thing and I love it and glad we have something that is just for us.

Found why email was going to trash. Default settings stepping on each other.
Moved my name servers off azure, updated all my email records for DNS and I have gotten an email. I know my stuff is good now, needed to clean up the zone anyway.

Had to submit my odometer reading for this next insurance policy period. I choose to provide this info and be tracked by dongle to save hundreds of dollars per year, why? Because I drive my truck less than 100 miles every six months on average, by getting tracked for not using it is a pretty easy mathematical calculation.
Have to have insurance, don’t want to pay full rates, it’s a “farm truck” not a daily driver, may as well show how good of a driver I am 🙃
This Odometer reading was 63276.2, last reading was 63203.0 in August 2025. My truck is worth at best $5k USD

The stereo in my truck has died. Found a company doing decent stereos cheap and picked one up for $150USD.
Thought it would be pretty straightforward and it is but I need to splice the entire harness since it’s not like my old one.
Way more labor than I was expecting and now need to budget some time…

It just dawned on me that I now own 2 #harleydavidson models out of production. 1 more than likely will never come back, the other, could come back but if so, it would be a revival bike. Heck it was a revival bike when it came out last time 🤣. It would be my 2005 FLSTSCI.

@nprofile…z2y0 I have heard unless your a Nintendo fanboy, it’s a rough shop to work in. I have met many former employees and the only ones with good experiences seem to be game devs. Corp is anti-fun but that’s second hand to me, can’t speak for myself.

@nprofile…l0np he was chased and got by a hawk. He is still alive and is at the emergency birb hospital. He is going to be ok, we think.
