Driving almost the length of the country today, while it's fking boiling (well obv I'm not personally, but I'm in the car as well)
Baffled as to why our extensive sprawling car parks (at services, or wherever) do not have coverings with solar panels on top.
Absolute waste. Could save cars from sun/rain etc and power the whole fkin place most of the year.

yep, since it takes decades for the cancer to develop, we're now seeing the impact on people who were installing it in the 60s-80s.
It's horrific, very hard to treat, most won't survive. We didn't know at the time, is the thing.
But we already have evidence that LLMs can kill people too. The absolute lack of giving a shit is overwhelming.

I got cut off from my account that had some ebooks on it when I moved back to the UK from the US.
I forgot to change my 2FA mobile and had no access to the number once I left.
No way to log in.
Spoke to "customer support" - 'use another email to make an account' - how will I access my library?? 'It's fine'. It wasn't fine. I've never been able to get back in. UK support won't help, US issue, US won't help as I can't prove it's my account, or you can only use US numbers to speak to them or whatever. The two depts won't talk to each other.
And changing my address on our 'family' plan locked my partner out of the device for like 6 months. I so regret that we bought it. I use it with Libby and that's it.

Please remember, dog people, when it's breeding season (Spring/Summer), there are nesting birds and other wildlife hidden away in the grass, under rocks, behind trees etc.
Letting your dog run off-lead through meadows etc is highly disruptive to breeding animals and can kill them. You might not see or realise.
Please leash/lead your dog in open and wild spaces. Run with them, stay on trails and pathways as much as possible

Yeah, there's a lot of positive to be had outside the gigantic, fashy mega-corps that have taken over/enshittified the most popular stuff.
That we can have this (or any) chat cross-continents and expand our understanding, get a glimpse into other ways of living and thinking - super valuable.
See the beauty of the world at our fingertips - and the constant horrors many of us were so easily ignorant of before, using righteous anger to push for better.
There's a lot of shit, misinformation and danger on the internet.
But it's also made of cats, so.
I am VERY glad we did not have 'social media' when I was at school - I do feel for kids/teens now, who have all this to navigate with so little support (or active making-it-worse) from adults and policymakers.

yep, like why did I waste some of my youth staring at the box where my dad insisted on watching golf, darts, fishing and other interminably boring stuff when I could have been doing anything else
The same movies I've seen 20 times though they didn't merit even a second watch.
Some things are better (some problems are more just... Family)
