Any particular reason that these followup questions are "Linux" and not "Linux/BSDs"? Seems like they'd all be applicable to and useful to know about the BSDs too, no?

I also wonder how screen brightness relates to to "dark mode" use/preference. It's amazing how little brightness you need to read black text on a white background under bright lights, but that is not the case for white text on black. For LCD displays, not OLED, but I suspect LCD is still far prevalent.

Also, saw this after being offline for weeks, so no idea what the impetus for this poll was. Hope nothing serious in your life or or your loved ones'. I can't imagine what it's like to be in need of a transplant and all my love and best wishes to those on waitlists!

I voted for opt-in, which is the current situation where I live, but I want to be closer to opt-out. I'm not quite sure why I'm not 100% opt-out yet. I think probably because our healthcare system is so fucked that I don't trust that people can take care of themselves to have accurate medical records to go with those organs and also because of the many fucked up misuses of donated organs/tissues that have happened.
Already a donor, but thanks for making me think about this more!

Part of the problem with emissions-related codes is — of which I'm sure you and your mechanic are already well aware — even once reset, the car must be driven for a certain amount of time and under different conditions for it to self-check all the various emissions controls.
This is an entirely separate, absolutely annoying programming thing! I would have thought that the computer would've read "older" because vehicle model years start selling in prior calendar year. :(

(Not necessarily clarifying for you, just anyone who may happen upon this discussion.)
CDE is just in ports, not in #OpenBSD base. There is no default #DE, only the #fvwm #X11 #WM. There are plenty of other DEs in ports though, including KDE/Gnome, and some #Wayland support.
That said, as maintainer of #MLVWM, I'm a fan of these earlier WMs & DEs.

While the city I live in has reliable cell service for most providers, I live in a rural state. Most of the state does _not_ have reliable cell service or — where it does — it may only be a single carrier.
Is that part of the reason this particular bank company has closed a lot of the more rural branches? Doubtful, but it probably doesn't help the organization's understanding of the technological problems of a rural state, with an aging and increasingly-poorer population.

Me: I don't have one.
T: Okay, I'll just text you a code.
M: I don't have a cell phone.
T: ...
M: Here's my ID. Can I just have the deposit slip to fill out and sign? I've had the account number memorized for _thirty years._

My "couldn't let it go" #ADHD project this week has been optimizing my faux #CUSeeMe webcam view for my #twitch streams and then making it more accurately emulate the original #ConnectixQuickCam:

Very cool! What brand?
I use a large Nite Ize SpotLit(?) for my Tamaskan. This time of year, it's on the rainbow cycle by mid-afternoon in case he ever got away from us. He looks _far_ too wolf-like to be running around alone, especially since even his safety-orange harness disappears into his fur. :(

Thank you for sharing this, it is a very good summary!
I pulled my #CrossCountrySkis out of storage a few weeks ago for the first time in _many_ years. Mine are a set of #wood #Kongsberg #Langrenn skis. Unlike modern skis, they require — in addition to pine-tarring & waxing — very cold #snow temperatures & fresh powder. I usually prefer air temps below 10°F to ensure the snow temperature is well below freezing so they don't absorb moisture and stick. Increasingly rare occurences

Good to hear! Probably related to the Xbox Live 360 store shutting down recently? I need to reflow my 1st gen Xbox 360, but it hasn't climbed far enough up the projects priorities list.
