It’s pretty universally agreed that Apple hardware has been in a period of arguably the highest quality and (end of Mac Pro notwithstanding) utility in decades and maybe that’s an indicator that Ive era design autonomy from operations and finance was a mixed bag.

There are only four reasons to chase followers and likes:
1) You’re using social media to sell something you do or create to earn a living.
2) You strive to have your social media clout be a product itself to sell to advertisers/sponsors.
3) You’re an activist of some sort.
4) You have some measure of mental illness causing an irrational need for approval absent an ability to discern meaningful approval from people who matter and algorithmic fluff.

Fixing the internet demands one fairly simple legal framework change:
Ban behavior advertising.
Contextual advertising is fine. Show ads for chainsaws adjacent to all the landscaping and home improvement content you like
CRM is fine. Promote your new products (on YOUR sites) to your existing customers as you like.
It all went to hell when we let advertisers refuse to pay unless they got a click. This standard of efficacy measurement is a-historically absurd.
