Musk is a likeable person, myself inclusive => I don't hate Elon Musk, he talks about many interesting topics, he is an interesting person.
Also, I find that when we like someone, we stop using common sense, or ignore reality or find some excuses.

(*) business relationship: when we don’t truly know our business partners/peers/colleagues core character, than I agree fully with your statement,
(*) 2 people in love: intimacy, both are cooperative (= goodwill), than I disagree with your statement.
