another thing is that this still used the old common js / lambda handler syntax. Netlify functions have switched to ES Modules recently, that could cause problems with import statements.
Function logs might contain clues there...

ah I see. Yeah I'm using a tiny render-blocking script in the head to set the theme on my site as well (from localstorage, but could just as well read from session). runs fast enough so there's no flash. You can use the exact same APIs but use them to fuel a minimal static HTML/CSS site, and rebuild it every 10 minutes / when new data is published. Can even work offline-first with a Service Worker.

The state of Lower Austria offers a public dashboard with up-to-date flood data. That's great, but whyyy is it an Angular SPA? Lots of people have no electricity and/or very poor network conditions. They get a loading spinner instead.
