@npub1wmr…g240 It seems like two things. The platform and the people. My husband is a product designer web dev person and I watched him set up his accounts. He was crawling with anxiety. I just did it... but as I watched him, it did seem like a total ephemeral mess of mystery logins and a feeling of loss of control. He even built a Nostr app to work through it. But he can't get past all the extensions and spread out auth things. So, that was strange since I didn't feel as insecure about the setup. But you're going to get a specific type of people and probably not a diverse group. There's also tons of trouble with all the "freedom" because then you get a bunch of child porn and people having sex with dogs... and you can never delete a post.

I am in over my head in weeds - the high winds of January blew my freshly sown flower seeds and the neighborhoods seeds (it seems) all over the land. I was not sure what I was going to get this time so I sort of let it just happen. Stuff is popping up everywhere even places I didn’t plant a thing. It’s interesting to see romaine lettuce popping up in the middle of your walking path.

I’ve been thinking on your question for 4 days now.
I think the text book is a great idea. I’m strangely on a college campus a fair amount because of work and might just have to pick up at economics 101 type of book.
The why is harder to pinpoint… I think I’m just trying to make sense of something I didn’t grow up with and have a hard time holding on to.
I’ve read countless money books targeted at the regular consumer - but most of those books don’t say anything meaningful and I want more. I feel like I’ve been wasting my time.

Bitcoin has always felt very punk but at the same time an act of selflessness, a generous gift.
With this in mind the technology was born and intentionally shared to be interpreted by others.
I would argue it was shared from a place of openness and without fear.
These alt coins may feel far from the original spirit of Bitcoin but I can’t imagine Satoshi creating something like this and not expecting the world to take it upon themselves to reinterpret it.
I can’t pretend to know what the original intent of what Bitcoin was meant to be.
But Bitcoin feels like something that’s meant to keep moving energetically, to be utilized of course but also shared and most importantly never hoarded, rather spent freely.
I think I can see that spirit happening here with Nostr but so far it’s just a feeling - not obvious. But I’m still learning, and am willing to be patient and open to hearing other perspectives.

I actually got a lot out of this book. It reminds you that there isn’t only one way to accomplish your life’s work. I resonate with the artists that only painted or wrote for short periods of the day - I can’t say I live that way exactly but I admire the value placed on the everyday life after all it is apart of the creative process.

So I stopped and introduced myself to him and said hey that is my birthday too. He said really like really really to which I said yes - no lie.
