I'm a customer with BNZ - have been for 10 years. I raised this as a concern with them, pointing out this sort of shit was the reason why people were flocking to bitcoin, and got the expected dissembling response. "Of course we'd be sorry to lose your business but blah blah blah...". Alcock raises a good point - why not make it opt out? Why can't I just sign a waiver of claims for scam compensation in return for them switching off this biometric monitoring?
The reality is, however, that this is coming to all banks eventually, so the best way to counter it is (a) keep as little of your money at the bank as possible, (b) use a dedicated device (phone/laptop) for online banking, (c) if you have to use a cellphone, use a Pixel with Graphene OS.
