Das #Phantasialand möchte ein #Naturschutzgebiet vernichten. Noch nie in Deutschland wurde dieser Schutz zugunsten privater Interessen aufgegeben. Die Schwarz-Rote Koalition in #Brühl ist auf der Seite des Freizeitparks. Angeblich steht der Aufstellungsbeschluss dazu unmittelbar bevor.

Some here in the #Running Bubble may know Frank (@npub1c6m…fj03). At the end of 2024, he narrowly escaped one of the most vicious cancer tumors. Following surgery & chemotherapy, he recovered & today completed his first #halfmarathon since his illness, achieving all his set goals. For every minute he finished under 3 hours, he's donating 2€ to the Cancer Society Rhineland-Palatinate.
People like Frank are my role models. Fate handed him lemons, and he made sweet lemonade out of them.

Today I finished my #running year 2025. I ran 2 PBT over the 21k distance & also completed a 42k, which I was able to finish with a PBT as well. Over the past 8 years, this was the year with the highest running mileage (2,343 km). I was extremely fortunate to stay injury-free &, after missing the #marathon in Cologne, still be able to #run in #Hockenheim. I am grateful that my friends&family carried me through difficult days & embraced me @ the finish line of my most important race of this year.

My best buddy and I run the #DeutschePost #HalfMarathon in #Bonn together every year. For upcoming 2026, I wasn’t very motivated, as I’m very happy with my recent performances and don’t need a big challenge right now. He supported me mentally and logistically before and during my #Marathon. Now he wants to #run PBT and break 1:45:00 in Bonn. That pace suits me well, so I offered to be his personal pacemaker as a way to return the favor. He was very happy about it☺️

We wrote about Stryd the other day.
I like the accuracy of the distance measurement (it works without GPS and thus flawlessly on any terrain), the battery life (I recharge the device about every five weeks at ~60 km of running per week; I bought it in March 2021), and the additional metrics and training information.
This device just makes so much sense.

⚠️Due 2 a bug in the handling of live tracks, my #Garmin #fenix7xpro stored a corrupted FIT file of yesterday’s #marathon. I was very angry. The activity did not appear in Garmin #Connect nor in the activity app on the device itself. At home I found the FIT file & tried to import it manually into Connect—which failed as well.
But #Perplexity #AI suggested trying fitfiletools.com 2 repair the file — and that worked perfectly✅️ All data has been restored.

Today marks an important milestone in my preparation for the #Cologne #Marathon.
I accomplished both the last training run beyond 30km and the week with the longest total distance: 33km today and 73km in total. At the same time my body is quite sore after 3 very hard weeks incl. a half marathon race.
⚠️👉🏻 As my uncle (experienced runner) said: "Now is the time where you have to run with your head, not with your feet."

At the end of week 14 out of 26 of my #Marathon training for #Cologne, I pushed my limits once again and ran the longest distance I’ve covered in 25 years. Altogether, I logged 65 km this week.
I’m grateful for the way my body feels and for being in a phase of training where I can see progress every single day.

Today I finished my last #run of 15 weeks of training for the #halfmarathon in #Bonn. I'm thankful that I had no issues with my knee the whole time. This year, I won't aim for a new personal best (1:33:45), even though both #Garmin & #Stryd predict almost the same finish time as last year.
I think anything under 1:39:59 is fine. The big goal this year is the #Marathon in #Cologne — and for that, I still have many limits to push

Today, I completed my final training session of 2024. This year, I ran a total of 1,754 kilometers over 174 sessions, spending 158 hrs, 44 mins & 43 secs #running. I also completed 16 21k & went through 4 pairs of running shoes.

Late evening #run with a #Podcast. I would have preferred listening to my new #metal playlist (a friend gave me some really good recommendations), but the #Spotify app on the #Fenix7xpro didn’t sync at all.

Thor sent me heavy & continuously strong headwinds.Some trees had fallen,and after the run,I wondered if it had been one of my best ideas to go #running in the forest on a day like this.But in my defense, I have to mention that the forest is ~100m higher than the city.At home, it was windy.Up there, it was quite stormy.Nevertheless,I had a great #run listening to "Twilight of the Thunder God" by #AmonAmarth😁

A few weeks ago, I switched from music to podcasts to listen to during my runs. For this reason, I even registered on #Spotify and installed the app on my #Fenix. This is so untypical that my wife asked me who I am and what I did to her husband. Anyway, I enjoy this change very much.
Today, I opened the door, stepped outside, and at that very moment, it started to rain.
The best weather for running. Loved it.

Meine aktuelle #Garmin-Statistik:
Seit dem 03.04.2018 habe ich 1242 Punkte gesammelt und bin seit dem 14.08.2023 auf Level 6 (620 Punkte) von 10 (10220 Punkte).
Bis zum Level 7 fehlen mir noch 18 Punkte (97%). Dieses Level werde ich voraussichtlich am 23.11.2024 erreichen.
Aktuell sammle ich 1,37 Punkte pro Tag.
Meine höchste Punktzahl pro Tag war 15 am 12.06.2024.
Meine höchste Anzahl Auszeichnungen pro Tag war 8 am 12.06.2018.

I am preparing for a #transalp tour with my best buddy, and to do so, I am focusing my training on long runs with as much elevation gain as possible. Today, it was time for a 21-something. I started shortly after sunrise. The sun, the cool and fresh air, and my high motivation made it a really fun run that couldn’t have been better.

For #Olympia,#Garmin released some new challenges.I accepted a few but was particularly keen on the 1 where I had 2 run a new personal best time.I chose 2 aim for the 1-Mile record since this was the 1 I had never improved intentionally (maybe bcoz of the metric system #PulpFiction).So, I configured a training #run over 5km with a 1-mile segment in the middle, aiming for a target pace of 3:25 to 3:50 min/km.I did it! I improved my personal best time by 13 secs to 5 mins & 56 secs / mile.#running
