I don’t get the idea of the #EV “pay per mile” tax being proposed in the UK. The rationale is that EV drivers won’t pay the fuel tax duty, because they don’t buy fuel. But EV don’t run on pranic energy, they run on electricity which is… already heavily taxed, just like fuel.

Russians are infantile and totally apolitical, but there’s one significant difference between them and Western Slavs (Ukrainians & Poles). Russians are a collective society where an individual doesn’t matter and the concept of authority is quasi-sacred.
We on the other hand are highly individualist, there’s a sense of individualism totally overgrown into a form of egocentrism and we have zero respect for authority.
You can argue for years which one is “better” or “worse”, but a very simple historical fact that when Russians are told by their Fuehrer to go West and conquer, they simply shut up and go conquer, while our morons will continue categorically screaming at each other which method of defense we should choose because everyone knows better 🤷
I know Israel today is nobody’s favourite example of anything, but they are a small country surrounded by eternally hostile neighbours and, even with the tendency to argue about everything that Jews are always joking about, they manage to build a very strong state structures and unite to combat existential threat.
And we never did.

And no, I’m not making any “soft suggestion” - I’m saying straight away that Zelensky is quite decisively playing the anti-Polish card for the sake of internal politics (electoral campaign?), while Ukrainian state (Sybiha, Sviridenko) are doing normal foreign relations in addition to trying to damage control.

I’m very much aware of the reasons why Euromaidan happened, but we’re speaking of the whole Ukrainian society, not only the decisively pro-European fraction of it. But Euromaidan was when? In 2013, and Poland joined EU when? In 2004, starting preparations at least decade before. Poland joined NATO in 1997, while the support for joining NATO in Ukraine was low even after 2014, only in 2014 it was officially written into the Constitution.
Also, quite curiously, you skipped four full paragraphs of what I wrote only to focus on on one sentence in the last paragraph, about EU.
Does that mean you generally agree with the remaining part of my comment?
P.S. you’re certainly aware of what happened today - finding the body of the woman who was suspected in attack on Yermolaev, where active HUR officer was now arrested? You think nobody in SBU or President’s Office had no clue about this before? Or that Zelensky doesn’t know about what’s going on in Dnipro?

I’ve also heard the argument raised countless times before the war - “we’re at economic crisis” past 2000, “we’re at hybrid war” past 2014 etc. There was never a good time, and never will be, because now it will be “we’re rebuilding after war now”.
I don’t buy that argument, because plenty of Ukrainian politicians are not fighting but doing politics (Vyatrovych now does daily rounds on Ukrainian TV stations), or just making money, sometimes using rather dirty schemes (“Dnipro call centers”) and nobody says “don’t do this, it’s war”.
By the way, Myrotvorets doesn’t give a shit about the war either:

I don’t think there’s some kind of “mutual escalation” here. Zelensky made a decision to name a military unit after UPA - it was his decision, made in public. Polish side - in a quite unusual unity - said it’s honoring a military organisation known for mass war crimes on Poles, but I’m not aware of any “ultimatums” it has raised towards Ukraine.
Quite the opposite, Tusk (PM) statements highlighted the strategic alliance between Poland and Ukraine and the need for continued military support, while also criticizing the UPA decision in a very diplomatic language. At the Ukraine’s diplomacy level, there were numerous attempts to deescalate - minister Sybiha, prime minister Svyrydenko all made very reasonable statements.
However, Zelensky seems to run a separate foreign policy in this aspect - and it’s possible he’s even entitled to do so, because Ukraine is a presidential-parliamentary republic unlike Poland, where president’s role is very limited. Or more precisely, it’s limited legally but not in PR terms, unfortunately. He can’t do much legally, but he can cause a lot of harm my mere making statements.
The publication of the PAC-3 donation to Ukraine in my opinion was 100% Russian disintegration operation - they leaked it to right-wing politicians in Poland and the government was forced to respond to that.
Why is Ukrainian president escalating in such a situation is well beyond me, but the fact that his ratings have benefited from this scandal - just as Nawrocki’s, who also runs a separate foreign policy, although mostly on words - suggests that both are simply in electoral campaign mode already and don’t give a shit about foreign relations with “weak” neighbours like Poland. It also suggests there will be even more escalation between the presidents, while our governments will scratch their heads on how to do any damage control in such an absurd situation.

Pisząc “obraz obiektywnie nieprawdziwy” pokazujesz, że nie rozumiesz
W przypadku OUN/UPA wspomniana przez Ciebie interpretacja czy percepcja tych organizacji opiera się na tym, że”walczyli z Sowietami” przy równoczesnym pominięciu tego, że na szeroką skalę kolaborowali z Niemcami (OUN-B do 1943, OUN-M do 1945) i prowadzili brutalną walkę z ukraińską (!) opozycją. A że ten cel polegał na budowie państwa monoetnicznego, autorytarnego, jednopartyjnego, więc logicznie rzecz biorąc tępili opozycję demokratyczną taką jak UNDO. Stąd próba aresztowania Bulby-Borowcia i morderstwo jego żony.
Kłamstwo Wiatrowycza polega zatem na tym, że prezentuje rzeź wołyńską jako część “wojny polsko-ukraińskiej”, w której obie strony walczyły ze sobą w sposób równoprawny. Tylko, że to jest właśnie obiektywnie nieprawda, bo np. w Ostrówkach i Woli Ostrowieckiej UPA wymordowało Polaków i rodziny polsko-ukraińskie, które mieszkały tam od XV wieku i nie miały nic wspólnego z pacyfikacją 1930 roku czy polityką asymilacyjną Warszawy, bo byli “tutejsi”. Co więcej, UPA dokonało jej 4 lata po upadku państwa polskiego, pod niemiecką okupacją, i jedynym powodem było czyszczenie terytorium pod to “państwo monoetniczne”. Czyli dokładne zaprzeczenie państwa, którym Ukraina jest dzisiaj.

Dla większości z nich OUN czy UPA to są organizacje walczące z rosyjską okupacją
Ja to rozumiem, ale jest to obraz obiektywnie nieprawdziwy i starannie od lat konstruowany przez ludzi pokroju Wiatrowycza.
I ta moja ocena nie ma żadnego związku ani nie usprawiedliwia decyzji Nawrockiego, którego przeszłe decyzje oceniam jako szkodliwe i głupie. Po prostu dwie skonfliktowane strony mogą prezentować błędne poglądy w tym samym czasie.
Nie zgadzam się też z tym, że “przeszkadzało to tylko naszym nacjonalistom” bo decyzja Zełeńskiego wywołała niezwykle rzadkie w Polsce zjednoczenie głosów od lewicy do prawicy, także tej proukraińskiej.

Co do “nie ma szans” to jeszcze w grudniu miałem nadzieje bo Nawrocki spotykał się z Zełeńskim, potem była fala zgód na ekshumacje po obu stronach granicy, w maju była ta konferencja historyków, więc wszystko wyglądało naprawdę dobrze.
Komuś w Kijowie się to ewidentnie nie spodobało i nie wierzę, że Zełeński nie miał świadomości co robi. Odpowiedź Nawrockiego wyglądała tak, jakby jego otoczenie tylko czekało na taki pretekst żeby odpalić akcję z orderami.
Co niestety stanowi kolejną istotną wskazówkę, że być może nasze dwa bratnie zachodniosłowiańskie narody po prostu nie dorosły do kultury państwowości, w związku z czym są skazane na bycie czyimiś satelitami.

@nprofile…wlck Oczywiście, polski IPN jest również upolityczniony i nie mam zamiaru bronić decyzji podejmowanych głównie pod rządami PiS czy właśnie Nawrockiego jako dyrektora. Mój niesmak wywołuje fakt, że we wszystkich śledztwach w sprawie zbrodni polskich oddziałów takich jak Sahryń wniosek końcowy jest zawsze rozmywany na zasadzie “może i popełnili zbrodnię wojenną, ale…”.
Faktem jest jednak, że polski IPN te śledztwa przeprowadził dobre 10-20 lat temu i ich wyniki wiszą publicznie, dzięki czemu szczegółowe informacje o tych zbrodniach można łatwo znaleźć w oficjalnych źródłach.
O idiotach wydzierających mordę
No tak, tylko tu mowa o Wiatrowyczu, który był kolejno:
szefem “organizacji społecznej” będącej kontynuacją OUN/UPA w XXI wieku - co zabawne, właśnie “organizacji” a nie partii, bo oni wprost odrzucali ideę partii politycznych i demokracji jako takiej

obecnie posłem do Rady i głównym specjalistą od polityki historycznej Ukrainy
Wszystkie w/w punkty zebrane do kupy dość jasno pokazują, że obecną politykę historyczną państwa ukraińskiego realizuje facet będący wprost następcą najbardziej radykalnych, antydemokratycznych ruchów nacjonalistycznych w Ukrainie w XX wieku. To wszystko co napisałeś o Brygadach Świętokrzystkich to prawda, więc teraz wyobraź sobie, że w Polsce wszystkie w/w role zajmuje facet, będący apologetą Brygad Świętokrzystkich, które i tak prezentowały może 10% tego radykalizmu co OUN/UPA.

No nie, podobne zapisy jak art 6 można było znaleźć chyba tylko w niesławnej nowelizacji ustawy o IPN forsowanej przez PiS w 2018 roku, po czym po paru miesiącach wycofanej pod naciskiem USA i Izraeal.
Kluczowe w tej ustawie z 2015 jest 1) wymienienie OUN i UPA jako tych “organizacji walczących o niepodległość Ukrainy”, 2) zrównanie ich krytyki z “poniżeniem godności narodu ukraińskiego” (całego!), 3) penalizacja “lekceważenia”.
Wiatrowycz, który wtedy forsował tę ustawę, obecnie niedwuznacznie daje do zrozumienia jaka jest jej rola w debacie publicznej w Ukrainie. Ostatnio w wywiadzie u Własty Lazur przez dobre 3 minuty wrzeszczał (dosłownie), że “status OUN i UPA jako bohaterów został przegłosowany przez Radę i koniec dyskusji”.
Zwracam uwagę - OUN i UPA jako całości, bo np. do Tarasa Bulby-Borowcia trudno się przyczepić, ale w tym zbiorze są też Szuchewycz i Kłaczkiwski.

Previously I avoided the topic of #Poland #Ukraine row over UPA, but today general Kyrylo Budanov announced the following[^1]
No one will ever again dictate to Ukrainians which heroes to honor, which holidays to celebrate, or which history to study. Our ancestors fought for centuries for this right to freedom of choice and national independence, and it is for this very right that our warriors are shedding their blood today. Their memory must live on forever.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft law “On the Ukrainian National Pantheon.” This is a decisive and much-needed step toward restoring historical justice, consolidating our society, and laying the foundation of memory for future generations. This document is a testament to our maturity as a state.
Also today President Zelensky said in an interview to Polish media[^2]
No one and never will anyone dictate to us how to live, how to speak, whom to love, whom to be grateful to, and which heroes to respect.
I will start from a reminder, that the “dictate” is already in place since 2015 when Ukraine’s Rada enacted a controversial law which makes it a criminal offence to “deny the legitimacy of the struggle for the independence of Ukraine in the 20th century” by organisations such as OUN and UPA. Essentially, if someone in Ukraine wants to dispute the goals and methods of OUN and UPA - which included killing political opponents inside Ukraine because they were “too conciliatory” or wanted Ukraine to be democratic, they are breaking the law.[^3][^4]
If you are surprised that OUN and UPA considered democratic movements in Ukraine to be enemies, that’s not a mistake. OUN and UPA had a very clear vision of Ukraine as a non-democratic, ethnically clean state with single state-supported religion, limited press freedom, state-controlled corporationist economy led by a single authoritarian Leader. I’m intentionally avoiding any labels attributed to this program by political scientists.[^5]
Only a few days ago Ukraine celebrated the Day of Constitution, which was first introduced in 1918 by ZUNR (Western Ukraine People’s Republic) and UNR (Ukraine People’s Republic).[^6] But both OUN and UPA considered ZUNR and UNR to be failures specifically due to what they perceived as “endless haggling” in democracy, solution to which was expected to be the autocratic rule of a the Leader of the nation. The OUN/UPA state would likely have no constitution at all.
It’s also ironic that this “endless haggling” did not spare OUN, which went through numerous fraction splits (OUN-B, OUN-M) and then even more absurdly with UPA, which was originally crated by moderate Taras Bulba-Borovets[^4] who was then chased by OUN-B radicals who forced him into exile, killed his wife and took over the name of UPA.[^7]
At the end of the day and as result of this infighting, only the most extreme fraction of UPA led by Dmytro Klyachkivsky and Roman Shukhevych was left fighting to the “ethnically pure” independent Ukraine. And they happen to be part of the “pantheon of heroes” while most Ukrainians seem to be totally unaware what their actual goals and methods were.
I will skip the whole incendiary topic of UPA and Polish population, but I will just reiterate that Ukraine politically is a very diverse society and unlike many populists on both sides I’m not going to aggregate it into “all Ukrainians love UPA” or “all Ukrainians support Zelensky”. I’m continuing the people and army of Ukraine regardless of what century-old symbols they choose, even if I don’t like them, but I’m also not going to sit silent about the history of the people politically nominated to be “unquestioned heroes”. If you need a legal act to make them “unquestioned” then it usually means there’s something questionable about them.

Someone finally started successfully eliminating the #Russia drone war criminals from left bank of Dnipro. Over a week ago, the infamous “From Mariupol to Carpathia” channel confirmed death of their primary admin, today they are moaning about death of yet another “brother”. They also wrote that the one killed 9 days ago was “brother Alexandr” (likely Sheptura, inventor of the #Kherson “human safari”). They write he died while “fulfilling his military duty”, which most likely means he was hunting another elderly lady with a dog, a pensioner on a bicycle, or UN convoy, as he usually did.

An excellent long read describing the internal workings of #Russia system of governance since 1999 until now. The author focuses a lot on depoliticisation, a mechanism through which Russian elites (not to mention the whole society) gradually lost any agency and became cogs in the wheel, ready to comply with any Kremlin demands, regardless how absurd they are or how often they change. I recommend the whole article, even through an auto-translator, here’s just a few conclusions about today’s state of Russian administration:
This administrative ‘efficiency’ comes at a high institutional cost. Firstly, the scope for deviating from standard procedures is expanding. Decisions are taken at the top, often in an arbitrary manner, and are then simply formalised in accordance with procedure. This is what happens, for example, with the scheme to send ‘volunteers’ to the front line.
Secondly, state policy is being replaced by a series of improvisations aimed at immediate results. This includes, for example, the government’s fight against rising egg prices, which led to overproduction and losses for producers.
Thirdly, the distortion of information has reached such depths that even the highest levels of the bureaucracy are working with an incomplete or biased picture of reality. Since the start of the war, a significant portion of economic and judicial statistics in Russia has been withheld. But whilst inaccessible to external observers, this information is also withheld from the bureaucracy and the business sector themselves.
As a result of the combination of these three factors, members of the elite, who are supposed to act as a counterweight to the autocrat, lose their agency and become mere executors of the president’s will — sycophants and lackeys, sensitive to the autocrat’s mood and prioritising his comfort above all else.

What largely unites Western left and right-wing supporters today is this fascination with #China decisiveness. Here’s a random sample comment from Bsky:
China is way ahead of us! The best part of this is when you mention it to conservatives they just melt. China’s advance is crushing the capitalist narrative. It’s wild and hopeful.
This phenomenon largely mirrors the 20th century’s left-wing fascination with huge projects done by Soviet Union.
I’m in turn fascinated by people’s blindness to the fact that what makes authoritarian countries so decisive is precisely what causes large infrastructure projects to fail in EU, UK or US.
Any large project in EU goes through endless consultations with experts, local communities and environmental activist groups from all EU. Then there’s trade unions, who demand pay and working hours (can you imagine!). Then there’s expensive environmental safeguards like fish protection in Hinkley Point C or wildlife bridges across highways or railways. A rare species nesting place can delay the whole multi-billion project by years. Because biodiversity is more expensive than just bulldozing the whole place.
Guess who does none of that? Soviets didn’t give a shit about some rare frogs, or even rare indigenous people as it came to large infrastructure projects. Or environmental consequences, for that matter.
When Western socialists in 20th century were fascinated by large Soviet terraforming projects (e.g. Northern river reversal, check out how it ended) they didn’t think about GULag forced labour, zero concern about environment or local protest. There was simply no such thing as “local protests” in USSR, so why bother? Today you’d also add very low CO2 emission price in China.
It’s quite an interesting sociological phenomenon - being fascinated by an authoritarian country doing none of what you consider top social achievements in your country, like unions, environmental standards, consultations… because that indeed delays things and costs money.
So at the end of the day we have an absurd situation where we have all these high standards which nobody really needs. EU or UK could demonstrate to the world how to produce steel in an environment friendly and low emission way… but nobody needs that steel - its manufacturing moved to China because it’s cheaper there. And CO2? Who cares, as long as it’s emitted somewhere else (in reality, climate only cares about global net emissions).
Personally, I believe if EU indeed wants to pioneer the sustainable industry, it’s doable but it needs protection with tariffs, just like it does with its farming industry, or like Switzerland does with almost every its sector. There’s now some progress with CBAM, that’s only 20 years after we introduced ETS.
But in the first place we need to explain to its citizens that yes, if you want PV you first need to mine stuff somewhere and if you want to protect the global climate, it needs to be done in EU. And yes, it will be more expensive than Chinese. And yes, that means building a mine in a place where there was a nice forest or something.
If you can’t mine something in EU, you will need to require your supplier to comply with the same environmental standards as you do. Otherwise it’s just pure hypocrisy.

As far as I can judge from my understanding of the situation on the ground in the SVO, we have already missed the opportunity for a freeze along the Line of Contact.

Russian drone operators publish videos of attacks on Ukrainian units that are in places where they shouldn’t be
“Rybar” publishes maps showing the actual progress of the Ukrainian Armed Forces based on 4)
pro-Ukrainian channels publish “Rybar’s” maps because of 2) and 3), and besides, “Rybar” has a budget so these maps simply look good

There’s much talking about #Russia possibly escalating into either #Ukraine, returning to Kyiv direction, or into #NATO, as absurd it sounds.
However, we thought the same in 2021-2022. The problem with Putin is in the the cage of axioms he has built for himself, by literal decades of multi-layered cognitive biases reinforced by positive feedback loops he created by kicking experts he did not like, and replacing them with yes-men.
In his own framework, Putin simply has no other choice:
the phrase “Putin is Russia, Russia is Putin” is the first axiom; objectively, war is of course a huge threat to the Russian state, but at the same time the crowning achievement of Putin’s personal career
“Putin’s power is sacred” is the second axiom, according to which Putin cannot lose… because he simply cannot
a ceasefire in any form without the lifting of sanctions would mean Russia’s slow economic death – regardless of how Putin “sells” it in the media, everyone in Russia understands this
a ceasefire involving a withdrawal from parts of the territory, which could result in a weakening of sanctions, would personally spell the end of Putin’s image
Putin cannot withdraw from territories he himself declared annexed in 2022, with tales of ‘referendums’ and ‘constitutional enshrinement’, because it was his personal decision
A major Russian offensive leading to some territorial success (e.g. the complete capture of the Donbas) – but it has been going on for a year and has only served to weaken the potential of Russian offensive forces; currently, the official promises are “the Donbas by the end of the year”, which is hardly realistic
the Russian general staff have come to terms with the fact that Putin lives in a different world and his political goals are plucked out of thin air, but they suffer no harm as they earn millions, so they maintain the fiction
the dominant narrative among the ‘siloviki’ is ‘we may have made mistakes, but we must see it through to the end’, because in the system of ‘sacred power’ built by Putin there is no room for anything else; the fact that ‘to the end’ might mean the end of Russia and/or Putin is simply not mentioned
It is mainly the military personnel close to the front line who speak of the need to withdraw from the war before a catastrophe occurs, but no one listens to them because they are there to carry out orders, not to question them
Leaving aside the physical world, if we accept for a moment the framework Putin has imposed on himself, escalation is the only way out of this situation available to him – and perhaps the only one he knows.
The only question is whether this will be an escalation towards Ukraine or towards NATO (hybrid). The former will end like Volchansk; the latter involves more unknowns due to the as yet unknown reaction of NATO and the EU, and is therefore potentially more attractive to Putin.
I do not see this as an actual threat for EU or NATO, because with the right response, that Europe is 100% able to execute, this will bring the much desired “to the end” to Putin very fast.
What I see as a much bigger threat is large countries fearing “destabilisation of Russia” more than EU losing part of its territory to another Russia-controlled blackhole, however small.

Let’s now convert it into actual radiation dose ingested by a potential consumer. The calculation is conveniently provided by Germany’s own Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz[^2]
The ingestion of 80,000 becquerel caesium-137 corresponds to an exposure of about 1 millisievert for adults.
For reference, a single CT full-body scan delivers 10–30 mSv. So if you somehow consumed all mushroom completely covering 1 m2 of the “polluted” land you’d receive 0.05-0.15 of a CT scan (because the max is 58 kBq/m2 and in the example above they use 80 kBq). But the BfS example actually also conveniently refers to the actual mushroom consumption too:
The consumption of 200 grams of mushrooms with 1,000 becquerel caesium-137 per kilogram results in an exposure of 0.0025 millisievert. This is considerably less than the radiation exposure during a flight from Frankfurt to Gran Canaria. However, if adults eat such a mushroom meal each week, they will receive an additional annual radiation exposure corresponding to about nine flights from Frankfurt to Gran Canaria. In a recent discussion with some Western “socialists” the usual incendiary topic of “who owns Eastern Europe” arose. The “socialist” crowd is unfortunately plagued by Soviet and now Russian narratives, which are outright distortion of history on a scale you can’t imagine. It’s literally as if someone seriously argued “England owns USA because people there speak English” in 2026 and that was repeated by respected authors on World Socialist Website and the likes.
The territory of today’s #Ukraine was originally called Rus’ (Ruthenia), with the same language, religion and culture as today’s Ukraine. It was a powerful player already in 10-11th century, when Moscow did not even exist as a place. As a matter of fact, Rus’ was one of the largest states in Europe back then. The name “Ukraine” appears in written sources in 12th century for the first time, but when Ruthenian ambassadors visited Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth parliament in 16th century they were still described as “Rus’ ambassadors”, so Rus/Ruthenia was the still mainstream name and it still referred to what we today know as Ukraine.
In 13th century the north-eastern part of Rus’ was invaded by Mongols and was occupied by them until 15th. The vassal state of Mongols on Slavic lands was called “Muscovia” and heavily influenced by Mongol culture and language. That’s when written sources started using the term “Russia” to describe Muscovia. To distinguish between these two, modern historians started referring to the original Rus’ as “Kievan Rus”.
And here’s the trick: Moscow simply declared itself the sole successor of ‘Rus’, and claimed that the original Rus, aka Ukraine, never existed. Simple!
Nowadays, Russian historians no longer use the term ‘Kievan Rus’’ at all, instead simply referring to the ‘pre-Mongol period’, as any references to Rus’ are inconvenient for them. Yet ironically, old Orthodox Church books are written in an archaic language that is very similar to modern Ukrainian, but not modern Russian. There are many such details that betray the true origins; for example, consider how the letters G and H are written and pronounced.
As for cultural differences, Muscovia, aka Russia, is dominated by a collective society in which the concept of individual rights or freedoms does not exist. This is why it adopted totalitarian Bolshevism, and today, Putinism, with such enthusiasm. For the Western Slavs, including the original Ruthenians, Ukrainians and Poles, personal freedoms and rights are a fundamental part of the social structure.
Russians deeply despise this “anarchy”, which also rejects the concept of sacred authority of the leader, as seen by the cult of personality that overtook every single implementation of the Russian state. And this is the primary point of conflict between Moscow and Ukraine today, not the language spoken, Nuland or whatever other nonsense you read on “socialist” forums.

Moje obserwacje opierają się doświadczeniu z licznych podróży po Azji i Afryce. Wystarczy wyjąc głowę europejskiej strefy komfortu i pojeździć po świecie by zobaczyć, że europejski system wartości jest na tym świecie wyjątkiem a nie regułą. I między innymi dlatego należy go chronić.
To co nazywasz “prawacką propagandą” w Europie, czyli ksenofobia, rasizm czy mizoginia to zaledwie nędzne niedobitki tego, co w wielu krajach poza Europą stanowi podstawę systemów etycznych rządzących całymi społeczeństwami. W Polsce masz Brauna czy Ziemkiewicza, którzy uchodzą za skrajnych ksenofobów - w wielu krajach całe rządy czy rady religijne (np. IGRC, rosyjska cerkiew prawosławna) składają się wyłącznie z takich Braunów i Ziemkiewiczów, którzy nie hamują się w ogóle jak ci nasi w głoszeniu poglądów otwarcie ludobójczych.
W świecie w sensie statystycznym nadal dominuje moralność plemienna, a koncepcje równości ludzi czy prawa powszechnego nie są uznawane. Wiele systemów etycznych religijnych i plemiennych jest skrajnie mizoginiczna i ksenofobiczna, wobec przedstawicieli innych ras, plemion czy narodów.
Dokładnie na tej podstawie dochodzi do regularnych egzekucji w krajach takich jak Iran, Gaza i inne niektóre kraje arabskie za “zbrodnie” takie jak noszenie “nieskromnej odzieży” przez kobiety, podejrzenie związków pozamałżeńskich (ale tylko wobec kobiet) czy homoseksualizm. Inne zbrodnie karane śmiercią to apostazja czyli porzucenie dominującej na danym terenie religii, w podobny sposób muzułmanie odłamu szyickiego uznają za innowierców i na odwrót. Egzekucje te są dokonywane publicznie, więc teza, że to “prawacka propaganda” to zwyczajne wyparcie.
W niektórych krajach afrykańskich rozpowszechnione jest tzw obrzezanie kobiet czyli okaleczanie ich narządów rodnych. Mieszkam w UK i na szczeblu rządowym jest to dyskutowane jako realny problem społeczny bo chociaż okaleczanie takie jest zabronione, to rodziny wywodzące się z tych kultur zabierają córki do swoich krajów pochodzenia i dokonują tych okaleczeń tam na miejscu. To też jest nielegalne, ale panuje wokół tej praktyki zmowa milczenia… bo kultura plemienna jest silniejsza od prawa. Rodziny z Afryki tak długo nękają krewnych w UK za pomocą presji psychologicznej, aż te w końcu zgodzą się “uratować” ich córki przed “niemoralnością”.
A obrona tego typu archaicznych systemów etycznych pod pozorem “tolerancji” lub “wielokulturowości” to absurd i całkowite zaprzeczenie wartości lewicowych. Nie można równocześnie potępiać neonazisty europejskiego - i słusznie, skoro ma poglądy nazistowskie - r równocześnie usprawiedliwiać neonazisty np. arabskiego - “bo jest z innej kultury”, “bo jest biedny”, “bo tak go wychowali” itd. Jednym z fundamentów europejskiej kultury jest uniwersalizm prawny to znaczy stosowanie tych samych kryteriów etycznych wobec wszystkich, niezależnie od pochodzenia - a część lewicy wykazuje tutaj jakąś absurdalną aberrację, wprowadzając kryterium plemienne - jedni mogą, inni nie.
Wracając zatem do polityki migracyjnej - tak, państwa europejskie mają pełne prawo wpuszczać na swoje terytorium wyłącznie osoby, które w jasny sposób zadeklarują, że znają i będą przestrzegać co najmniej fundamentalnych zasad, wyrażonych w Europejskiej Karcie Praw Człowieka, oraz przepisów krajowych. A taką możliwość z automatu wyłącza migracja nielegalna.
Nie ma miejsca w Europie dla ludzi, którzy w sposób otwarty negują fundamenty Unii Europejskiej takie jak prawa człowieka czy równość ludzi wobec prawa. Wystarczy nam już naszych własnych ksenofobów z “Konfederacji” i “KKP”, których deportować nigdzie nie można. W kontekście UK jednak istnieje poważny problem radykalnych islamskich kleryków, którzy dosłownie wzywali do mordowania innowierców, za co byli skazywani na więzienie lub deportowani, jeśli była taka możliwość prawna. Do tej kategorii należą również legalni i nielegalni imigranci z Gruzji, Rosji, Białorusi czy Ukrainy, którzy po 2022 roku są deportowani z Polski za przestępstwa pospolite - handel narkotykami, napady, kradzieże, oszustwa internetowe itd, ale to akurat nie budzi szczególnych kontrowersji nawet na lewicy, i słusznie.
Podsumowując, wykazywana przez część europejskiej skrajnej lewicy obłuda przejawiająca się w absurdalnej pobłażliwości wobec ksenofobicznych poglądów jest zwyczajnie samobójcza i jest moim zdaniem główną przyczyną, dla której lewica europejska - ku mojemu wielkiemu ubolewaniu - utraciła związek ze swoją podstawową bazą wyborczą.
Głoszenie haseł lewicowych, które mają być wiążące dla wszystkich… za wyjątkiem osób, głoszących poglądy skrajnie ksenofobiczne tylko dlatego, że “przybyły z zewnątrz” to ten poziom obłudy i absurdu, który powoduje, że wyborca zaczyna się zastanawiać co właściwie te partie chcą osiągnąć. Wróćcie do korzeni lewicowości, to ten kontakt z wyborcami odzyskacie.

Oczywiście, i taki człowiek ucieka, tam gdzie może a kraj docelowy albo go wpuszcza albo nie. Większość ludzi uciekając od wojny wybiera najbliższy kraj gdzie tej wojny nie ma, stąd tysiące uchodźców w Jordanii, Turcji i innych krajach regionu. Część składa wnioski azylowe lub wizy o pracę, które UE, w tym Polska wydaje tysiącami ze względu na brak siły roboczej.
A niewielki odsetek woli wydać tysiące euro na haracz dla arabskich i rosyjskich przemytników, którzy wysyłają ich jak towar ryzykownym szlakiem morskim albo przez Bałkany lub Białoruś.
Natomiast państwa leżące na tych szlakach nie mają żadnego obowiązku prawnego ani moralnego wpuszczać ludzi, którzy swoją próbę zamieszkania w nich rozpoczynają od agresywnego szturmowania granicy, na wejściu dowodząc tym samym swojego stosunku do prawa tych krajów.
Dlatego tak szkodliwa była polityka “Wir schaffen das” Merkel z 2015 roku bo zapewniła stałą podaż klientów rosyjskim i białoruskim przemytnikom, który na dodatek wykorzystali to jako broń hybrydową dla destabilizacji UE.
Polityka sprzedana niby jako lewicowa i humanitarna, faktycznie napędziła tylko liczbę ofiar bezwzględnej mafii białoruskiego KGB i rosyjskiego FSB, które zaczęły puszczać ten potok ludzi - którzy najpierw przylatywali do nich specjalnie uruchomionymi rejsami turystycznymi - każdym dostępnym szlakiem, bo na każdy kliencie zarabiali tysiące euro a do tego przerzucali koszty dalszego ich utrzymania na UE.
Ze strony Merkel była to skrajna bezmyślność, podobnie jak cała reszta jej polityki podlizywania się Rosji, za co wyborcy “nagrodzili” ją wzrostem głosów na AfD. Co zrobiła w odpowiedzi np Finlandia? Momentalnie zamknęła wszystkie granice z Rosją… i krótkotrwały potok “uchodźców” na rowerach momentalnie się skończył. Polska i kraje bałtyckie zrobiły to samo chociaż zajęło to o wiele więcej czasu ze względu na o wiele trudniejszy teren. Wszystkie te kraje doskonale zdawały sobie sprawę z charakteru tej “migracji” i reagowały poprawnie. Tylko niewielkie grupy odklejonych w stylu tych z Hajnówki wspólpracowały dobrowolnie z przemytnikami, kompromitując wszystko co można nazwać wartościami lewicowymi.
W Niemczech dopiero Merz wprowadził kontrolę na granicach… Polski, cofając migrantów, którym nielegalnie udało się dostać z Białorusi. W rezultacie wzrost poparcia dla AfD praktycznie się zatrzymał. A ci klienci przemytników, którzy nie przeszli granicy są teraz problemem kraju do którego dobrowolnie i na zasadach komercyjnych przylecieli samolotem, czyli Białorusi, a nie Polski czy Niemiec.

EU to cut funding for Chinese inverters as quiet offensive replaces grandstanding 👍
At a top-level meeting of her 26 department chiefs in March, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen quietly approved a plan to stop EU funds from going to clean technology projects containing Chinese inverters.
Inverters are the essential power electronics at the heart of solar and wind systems. Industry groups estimate that Chinese companies led by Huawei Technologies control more than 220 gigawatts of Europe’s installed solar capacity via the devices.
Why is it good news? Cyber-security and backdoors are one reason[^2], European inverter manufacturers struggling to compete with cheap imports from China, which are cheap thanks to use of forced labour, cheap energy, state subsidies, low import tariffs.

The most entertaining part of Pavel Gubarev interview with Yuri Dud’ - Gubarev was a former “people’s governor of Donetsk People’s Republic”, then he fought in #Russia army against Ukraine after 2022, so the certainly knows the reality there inside out.

2) 85% supply chain control means even if you intend start your own production, you still depend on China for resources… which they can cut at any time, as they occasionally do with rare earth metals etc
3) moving production back to EU means cost increase because you no longer leverage Chinese forced labour, poor environmental standards, subsidies and low CO2 tax
Which are the reasons why China built that supply chain dependency in the first place 🤷

#Orban circles started spreading an entirely invented story of an autobiography allegedly published by ex-wife of opposition party leader Peter Magyar. The book called “16 years with a monster” was even shown in a video and alleged Magyar involving in sexual abuse of his children and - sorry - frying their puppy in a microwave (this is a trope so popular that it’s actually stupid). For the last few days nobody was able to ever find the actual book published anywhere, so this was an obvious fake. Today Judit Varga, Magyar’s ex-wife, confirmed she never published any autobiography.

On 10 April, the anniversary of #Katyn massacre, #Russia opened a historical exhibition titled “10 centuries of Polish Russophobia”. Katyń massacre is where in April-May 1940 NKVD executed 20’000 Polish citizens taken prisoners in 1939 when it invaded Poland jointly with Nazi Germany. USSR consistently denied the massacre until 1991 when it shared original NKVD documents and orders of the massacre, along with the lists of executed.
On the photo below you can see a curious example of what, according to modern Russian “historians”, constitutes “Russophobia” - Polish president Duda hugging Ukraine president Zelenskyy in 2022.
P.S. Russia did not even exist “10 centuries” ago - Poland didn’t really have a target of its alleged phobia until ~400 years later.

Journalaist Aleksandar Brezar compared statements from Yanis #Varoufakis article “Why I went to Moscow” with #Russia narratives. Not surprisingly, he found almost 100% compliance (the quoted block is Varoufakis, then Brezar’s comment):
Russia also has the right to seek security by demanding, as it has done for three decades, that Nato stay out of… Ukraine.
Putin: “Over the past 30 years we have been patiently trying to come to an agreement… (NATO) continued to expand despite our protests and concerns.”
Ukraine becomes in the 21st century what Austria used to be during the Cold War: a neutral but armed European country.
Peskov, March 2022: Russia would accept “the Austrian model” as “a certain compromise”.
The European Union unfreezes Russia’s assets and removes all sanctions.
Putin’s truce demands, Russian Foreign Ministry speech, June 2024: “All Western sanctions against Russia should be lifted.”
Ukraine becomes… a neutral but armed European country with its territorial integrity and political sovereignty jointly guaranteed by all European countries, plus Russia, under the auspices… of the United Nations.
Russia’s March 2022 draft treaty: “Ukraine should agree to permanent neutrality in return for international security guarantees from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council: Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States.”
Signatories shall agree on gradual elimination across Europe of certain categories of weapons, including nuclear.
Russian MFA draft treaty with US, December 2021: “The Parties shall eliminate all existing infrastructure for deployment of nuclear weapons outside their national territories.”
Europe’s leaders chose forever war.”
Many in the West have called it Putin’s forever war. Varoufakis flips it and blames Russia’s ongoing all-out invasion on Europe. “Forever war” is repeated, but Varoufakis doesn’t state who started it anywhere in the article.
He does mention “war’s commencement,” as if it’s a natural disaster that “commences” on its own.
Varoufakis avoids using the word “occupied” for Ukrainian lands throughout. The Donbas and “other territories” are “disputed” and “under Russian control”.
Crimea — illegally annexed in 2014 — is not mentioned once in the entire article. There is no mention of the ICC warrant against Putin, either. Or Russian war crimes.
Yet Varoufakis says that “all war refugees will have the right to return to their pre-2014 homes.” Not 1991, when Ukraine declared independence. No, 2014, when Russia illegally annexed Crimea.
Varoufakis also uses the Good Friday Agreement as a possible model. Except the agreement wasn’t signed while one country was bombing another and kidnapping its children.
Finally, Varoufakis says he visited Moscow last week for an “investment conference” and describes people in attendance as “Russian civil society.” The Russian civil society has been systematically dismantled since February 2022.
Oh, and he said that in Moscow, he also danced for peace. Yet now back home, he is advocating for what Russia wants and for what would effectively represent Ukraine’s capitulation, despite his pre-emptive protestations.

During occupation of #Mariupol, thousands of residents died, thousands escaped, and were unable to return facing arrest or forced russification. Russian occupation authorities make it very difficult for even local residents to prove ownership, and “property without owner” is taken over by the authorities and resold privately.

One popular US narrative today is that “EU is buying Russian gas and oil, why don’t they stop” which is used as an argument why US stopped helping #Ukraine and is so friendly with Putin. The problem is that if you look at the numbers, the argument is quite manipulative on many levels:
EU as an institution on its own is not importing anything from #Russia, quite the opposite, the EU - again, as an institution - had just pushed 19th sanctions package further limiting imports… of its Member States
Member States legally delegate some policies to EU, but energy policies are the most prominent example of policies that are exempt from this delegation and mostly kept to Member States
each EU sanctions package has to be approved by all Member States, and this is where the main challenge appears because the sanctions are agreed by a consensus of 27 members
each sanctions package had been historically blocked by #Hungary and #Slovakia and watered down by #France #Germany #Italy #Netherlands
nonetheless, EU Member States had since 2021 reduced their imports from Russia by 90% and most fuel imports will be completely stopped in 2027
How does it look now? As of 2025 these were the largest EU importers from Russia:
Germany: ~€2B, mostly fertilizers/titanium
Netherlands: ~€2.3B, energy-focused
France: ~€2.5B LNG/energy
Italy: ~€3-4B energy/fertilizers
Why they do it? On moral grounds it annoys me especially that some of these countries voluntarily sleepwalked into a huge strategic energy dependence of Russia in spite of decades of warnings. Probably each of them has a different set of reasons, like keeping fuel & food prices acceptable. What is important is that these numbers represent only ~10% of the pre-2022 imports, so these countries had already done huge effort to cut funding of Russian budget.
Now about USA - they love to patronise Europe but they’re of course… also importing from Russia. USA imports enriched uranium at around ~$1B per year and only plans to stop in 2028. Why? Most likely because thanks to decades of Rosatom price dumping most countries decided their own enrichment is too expensive and scaled it down - USA of course has its enrichment facilities from old times, but they need time to be restarted, just like France.
But at the end of the day, why should we limit imports from Russia? This one is easy and the answer was already given by Lenin in his famous quote about “hanging bourgeois on the rope they sell us”.
Russia’s war spending is now 40% of its whole budget and it doesn’t just include the war in Ukraine but also all the cyber-attacks, disinformation, political interference, sabotage, explosions, arson targeted at Europe and USA.
You want less explosives planted by Russians in DHL planes flying over European towns? Buy less Russian oil and gas, because every euro you “saved” on buying it will be eventually turned against you.
Also, the sooner Russia runs out of money for the war in Ukraine, the sooner it will be ready for an actual peace deal.
