There seems to be a gradual conflation of TWO VERY important things in Bitcoin...
On the surface they are similar, and in language they overlap.
But they are NOT the same:
1. Bitcoin banking
2. Bitcoin backed lending
I've tried to write about this before, because I see where things have been going... And that is talking about fiat finance on top of Bitcoin as "Bitcoin banking".
And in that sense legitimizing it as the same thing as @nprofile…6g5h talked about.
But he was talking about actual Bitcoin finance with borrowing and lending actual Bitcoin denominated in Bitcoin.
That is different from using fiat finance backed by Bitcoin denominated in dollars.
If Bitcoin is gonna solve all the things bitcoiners talk about, then the latter is not enough. And that's why the conflation is dangerous.
I'm trying to write about this again, because this conflation was done on the latest Swan signal pod:
They said pretty much that "This is Bitcoin winning" talking about the treasury companies and fiat finance on top of Bitcoin...
And that we have arrived at "Bitcoin banking" with companies like STrategy ...
No......
THAT IS NOT BITCOIN BANKING
IT'S NOT DENOMINATED IN BITCOIN
AND IT'S USING FIAT DEBT AND CURRENCY

And then on the other side the man led astray by greed and "ambition", needing to get the external validation from "success", but in the process becoming a scammer or tool for the fiat empire.

I phrased it kind of bad.
We were taught about the impact of WW2, and that that was “the reason”
So what I meant was that even with that reason, I didn’t understand why … especially since it was decades ago…
But after going through covid… and now witnessing all the government corruption… and the harder economic times… I’m feeling the cultural impact more, and im beginning to understand why…

Aside from the governance war, I think this is one of the most important ideas in Bitcoin THAT NO ONE is talking about:
WHAT IS THE CREDIT DENOMINATED IN?
It's such a devilish fine detail, that everyone missed it, or maybe don't want to see it, IDK.
When people talk about credit in Bitcoin *it's always framed in the context of _fiat credit_* 🤔
But the idea of BITCOIN BANKING that we all learned about in the Bitcoin standard as fresh bitcoiners...
THAT WAS NOT FIAT CREDIT.
It was lending actual BITCOIN.
It was credit DENOMINATED in Bitcoin!
And that... *IS ALL THE DIFFERENCE*
