@nprofile…wq88 ok sure. have you considered sending us the reform for servicing? in any case, i think the easiest way to order a pocket reform without the module is if we make you a discount code for it and then we make an internal note afterwards that it doesn't ship with a module. but you might get a better deal by buying the cheapest imx8mp model from crowd supply/mouser stock. on mouser you can see real inventory levels.

main open issues:
- case must to be heavier (and with rubber feet) so it doesn't slide around on the table, probably made of metal
- acoustics need to be dampened somehow (foam inside?)
- best position for cable outlet?
- which existing palm rests could we recommend?

@nprofile…vvle afaik two things: 1. power role swap doesn't work correctly yet, so when the lottery (DRP toggle) determines we start as SRC instead of SNK, a monitor/dock will request pr_swap after initial handshaking and i'm doing something wrong when accepting it, leading to PD reset -> loop.
2. SI isn't good enough for some cable/monitor combinations, esp. at high clocks, probably needs redriver chip (can put on internal flex cable)

i just had to bump our rcore/rk3588 related prices (upgrades and laptops) again because the buying price per piece of icore-3588q (rk3588+ram+emmc) just went up another $105 for us from june, where it was bumped up $100 already. so buying price on these increased by $205 in the last 3-4 months

i've been struggling a lot to make USB-C DisplayPort alt-mode work on the RK3588 MNT Pocket Reform with MB2.0, incl. charging and USB hub functions of the monitor, all over a single cable. this included partially reverse-engineering and implementing the vendor defined messages (VDM) for activating these modes in system controller firmware, and patching RK3588 drivers. it's not yet 100% reliable, but when it works, it's quite nice

neat, we got the first succesful CI build of the C/armv7 part of the MNT ZZ9000 (Amiga graphics card) firmware using meson/ninja https://source.mnt.re/amiga/zz9000-firmware/-/jobs/24086
thanks to @nprofile…q8zx for writing the meson files and solving a tricky compiler/UB bug in the USB code!

very curious mesa problem that's been haunting me for a while, and becomes very visible here: when i look at this file (reform next laptop assembly) in blender 5 on my qcs8550 mnt reform next (freedreno), using native OpenGL, most of the components have mangled coordinates/rotations (screenshots 1+2). but when i use Zink (vulkan emulated OpenGL), all is fine.
GL experts, what's your take on how this could be caused? is blender using shaders for transforms somehow, and those can be broken?

@nprofile…msjp i think we can stream the required glyphs from flash/disk into a cache/atlas, and one doesn't really need more than 2 or 3 fonts, so "online" memory use could be optimized even on low-end i think

another brainworm: what are we gonna make/sell in 2027 when there's no more ddr4 (shortage). i guess even if the crisis is mostly about ddr5, there will be knock-on effects. more and more low-resource/power/fpga based ideas circulating in my head. i think a major interesting thing would be to solve interfacing low end MCUs to 1080p+ eDP displays, for writing/terminal use cases. instant-on kinda things with good typography engine
