Bitcoin definitely shines a bit less bright as freedom money in my mind and makes me doubt it usefulness for freedom in the long run. This has shown that node runners are not in control of the network. Then what is different from fiat? Will it keep degrading and centralizing to just be another tool of the state? My first thought was, "this is stupid". I shared my thoughts and got a lot of pushback saying how inconsequential the hash contributed would be. That no one solo mining as a node runner would find a block. And so on. My thought, who cares? I want to be able to mine with my gpu or cpu. Why am I gate-kept? It should be my choice how and what I chose to deploy to participate in the network. Yes, single pleb is inconsequential, you might get a lucky Chad here and there. But that is not the point. The point is the aggregated hash from each node runner having a voice and hash in the mining process. I definitely will argue, and believe, that unknowingly, they have fallen victim to the fiat incentives wrapped in bitcoin language. Their bitcoin media companies all work and operate with the same incentives and structures as fiat media companies ( they still end up click bating you and getting sponsors that they cannot criticize). People think that by just creating bitcoin content they are magically unaffected by fiat incentives, and that is wrong as we are clearly seeing it come to light in this cycle. Bitcoin gives you the tool for you to have the time and space to start moving away from the fiat incentive structure. But it is a choice that has to be made and the gains cannot be measured in fiat terms anymore (algo dominance, conference access, etc.).
