Well nostr is an open protocol so you can build whatever you would like.
My main caution would be putting a lot of thought into the structure of the nostr events as that would be hard to change later and would be a breaking change to your directory if you altered anything.

Did this interaction meaningfully bring me closer to people I care about and/or leave me feeling more connected to other people.
There is real value in being able to share and interact with people online. But once these interactions stop bringing us closer to people and are turned into a psychological weapon against us then it is a problem.
Even on nostr which is so toned down in terms of its psychological bombardment I still often feel is too much.
I think "enough social" is closer to group chats or small communities where interactions foster and grow real relationships rather than just dopamine hits.

I think it’s a good idea. Something I have thought about quite a bit.
I did not want to make an “official” one because to do that would be to host site data which I felt went against the ethos of what I was building.
Maybe I will look at doing one separately.
You could have a specific kind for a nowhere site entry and then have all the data from the link as well as the link itself in an event posted to Nostr. Then a client or website could pull that data and make a nice directory.
It would even then be possible to pull that data into pages that render nowhere sites. For example someone could build an Event nowhere page that looked for similar events and displayed them on the side. You get the discovery of Nostr while still having the immutability and uncensorable nature of the nowhere link itself.
Another good example is the forum. You could have a forum specific client that lets you have other forums you could select from at the top. Maybe even its own search and discovery for forums you would like to join. All in the one site.
There is so much you could build off this. I feel like what I have now are just the starting blocks.

Ahh I see what you are saying as well. The two bags represent there being only two primes. That is the key idea. Its just that adding two bags of cookies would add them and not multiply which is what caused my confusion.
Rather than the two primes being two bags perhaps one prime needs to represent the number of bags and one prime represents the number of cookies in each bag.

For 5 of the site types there is no communication needed and all the data needed to render the site is in the link.
It was clear there was amazing synergy with bitchat here. You could create a website offline with no connection and then send it through the mesh and people would be able to load it fully offline.
You could print out QR codes for events, or fundraisers, or blog posts. Scan them. Load the site. And share the link through bitchat all with no connection.
As a demo of this potential I forked bitchat android to add native support for rendering nowhere links.
You can see in the clip how it detects the link, and then lets you open the site all within the app.

I have a friend who purchased a block of land at the top of a mountain to build his dream house with big windows overlooking the view. His plans were consistent rejected for various reasons. One of them was his large windows would let out too much heat and was not climate efficient enough.

I attempted to add signer support but it was quite inconsistent however I now think that might have been more to do with the fact that I was testing from an iphone which does not seem to play nice with signers.

Yes this can already be done if the person on the receiving end has a copy of the nowhere site renderer.
All of the data the renderer needs to recreate the site is contained in the URL (except for image data as images just a link). So if you have any communication method that will allow you to transmit the link then it will work.
The catch is to turn that link into a viewable website you need to have a copy of the nowhere renderer. You could have this by visiting the site once and saving as a PWA or by hosting the site locally.
Another option would be bundling the renderer directly into whatever app you were using to recieve the messages. I have a demo of this on github where I forked bitchat and bundled in the nowhere renderer. That way someone can send you a link over bluetooth mesh and you can open and view the site even with no network connection.
The other catch is that the site types that require communication must have access to the internet to function. The event, fundraiser, message, drop and art site types will work fully offline however the store, petition and forum need access to the internet and nostr relays to fetch and broadcast events.

There is no server log to see who created it as it was never uploaded to a server. For all I know it was created on an air-gapped computer.
And there will be no record if you choose to read it as the site will only fetch the data from the link itself and render locally on your device.

You have to stick to simple geometry. Complex brushes or anything with a lot of points will burn through characters.
Or you can make good use of text.
I am sure an artist could still make powerful art within these constraints. Sometimes the constraints are what brings on the creativity.

Additionally the page will have warnings saying that the page is unsigned and the author cannot be verified.

It is also maximally optimised for English. The dictionary substitution swaps about the most common 10,000 English words for short character combinations. As well as a dictionary of phrases and urls that are compressed in the same way.
Any repeated words, phrases or entire blocks of text or data will then be compressed heavily by deflate.

I try to encourage users to stay below 2,000 characters as that is the safe limit for link detection across different messaging apps.
QR codes can fit a bit more than that.
I have been able to scan max size QR codes from an iPhone 12 and google pixel 6 camera.
As for how much data that translates to it varies a lot based on what the data, how repetitive it is and how well it compresses. For most of the sites you can make what feels like a full site page that does not leave you feeling too terribly restricted. You can fit about a full printed page of English text in a 2,000 character “message” url (uncompressed that would be maybe 5,500 characters).
I do not have any good sample sites with me on my phone but I have quickly made this near max size QR as a demo.
At the top I have text but then to pad out the characters with data that is hard to compress I added the digits of pi.

This was actually made through prompting Claude. I have been working on AI skills for each site type to be able to create sites with an LLM.

The use case is a simple way to create websites that fall into one of the defined site types.
Say you want to create an event page it is very simple to follow the builder and to create a link for an event that you can share. The link contains all the data for the event and your actual event data is never sent to a server. This makes creating the event private and also means the link can’t be removed.
There are 8 different site types that you can follow the online builder to make and try out. 5 of the sites are contained fully in the link and 3 use nostr for communication. The one that relies on nostr the most is the forum which lets you create a private forum that you can share with friends.

The app avoids saving data locally and does not store private keys. The generate just lets you create a new key pair that you have to save elsewhere.
The extension is needed to save the key and sign future events and also to decrypt your orders or petition signatures through the manage page.

Males sense. Not sure what is optimal. The signed link giving a different forum is something I had not considered. I am not sure what the best behavior would be.
The forum identity is derived from the URL which is different if a signature is added to it.
With sites that are encrypted it is the decrypted fragment that decides the identity so adding encryption won't change that.
I could change this now but it would break signed forums as it would now show the posts of the unsigned forum.
I think the current way makes sense but it does mean you can't "upgrade" and unsigned to a signed and keep the history... Hmmm

My issue with the blog is that by storing all the URL fragments on nostr events there is no real purpose of having them be constrained to the url.
At that point you might as well just have a nostr feed of your long form posts. I am not sure what is being gained.
I made an exception for the forum because it felt like something genuinely new and private spaces are something that I felt nostr lacked.

Yes. However many domains can host the renderer. Currently there are three domains and any of them can render the same sites.
It is also possible to run it just on localhost and access all the same sites.
I was looking into nsites earlier today and it does seem like a good match.
If it was something useful you could also bundle the site viewer in an app (I have a demo of this on GitHub with nowhere added inside bitchat as they seemed like a perfect match for each other)

Much of this was just putting existing building blocks together in a new way not completely unlike Bitcoin.
And other things were direct inspirations from Bitcoin such as wallet paraphrases making me want to add forum salts.

YES! I have actually been thinking an about making the same thing.
My idea was to 3d print a mini jukebox or music player and have a raspberry pi with a scanner in it.
Then you could insert 3d printed cartridges. On one side you can have printed the album artwork and on the other you have a QR code. Slot it in and the music starts playing.
A way of bringing your digital library to the physical world. I love the idea but have never made time to actually do it.

You can create simple websites from a template, such as an event or a fundraiser, where the data is not hosted on any server. All the data needed to recreate the page is contained in the link.
This means the sites are censorship resistant because there is no host to target to remove the content. It also makes them private because all the site data stays on your device.

Glad you are excited to try the store however for product such as this, the store has no way of automatically marking the item out of stock if someone does purchase. And given this is a unique one of a kind item you must be aware of this.
You have enabled inventory management which was the correct choice, however the inventory management event has not been published yet and you will need to do so at hostednowhere.com/manage/store.
Although I am happy to see people wanting to try this out, I would highly recommend sellers start with items of far lesser value to prove out the system first. The seller should only ever share the link once they have gone through the full checkout process themselves to test they are comfortable with the system.
Please also be aware that once a store is created and the link is shared it can never be removed. But if you enable inventory management as you have done then the store can be marked as closed to prevent any future orders once the painting has sold.

Everyone loves a good origin story so let me tell you about where the inspiration for nowhere came from.
I was working on Zap Alerts (a lightning enabled stream donation overlay) and building the donation page that streamers could share with their non Nostr viewers.
The way I built the donation page was to create it dynamically. The streamer would create a link that contained their stream details, lightning address, fiat currency of choice and suggested donation amounts and then share that with the viewers. When the viewers clicked the link it would pull all the right data from the url to build the donation page.
Once this was done I was looking at it and the realisation hit me. I had just built a storefront that was not hosted anywhere. Yes there was only one “item” in the store (a donation to the streamer) but the concept was there.
I started building out the store but immediately realised there was no reason to limit to a store. There were so many potential sites that could be created this way. All the data needed to render it in the link, hosted nowhere.

It depends specifically which servers you mean.
The data of the actual content when you create a site and generate a link is not on any server except for whatever servers you choose to share the link through (ie sharing on social email or instant message).
The forum, store and petition use nostr relays to communicate (for forum posts, orders and petition signatures). These can be configured to relays of your choice.
