there's a lot to this, high den might be reflected as heavier fabric, but if you're looking to develop an eye for well made clothing, Bernadette Banner has a lot of amazing resources on that topic, esp thrifting.
She's a famous youtuber, her book covers most of the same things as well if video formats are not your thing.

I've always been interested in the connection between linear logic and reversibility, but lacked a language malleable enough that reversibility could emerge naturally from its resource model rather than enforced as a separate concern.
Most programming languages are designed as if thermodynamics don't apply, and when it is considered, reversibility is either bolted on as a constraint or the language's entire point. In a linear resource model, every transformation must account for what it consumes, information cannot be silently acquired or discarded. Reversible computing might be a way toward zero energy dissipation, and this is how I choose to explore it!

I was wondering if your weather station had to be digital at all? Would it be enough to make a barometer push a little needle with a lead point on a piece of a paper?
Simpler parts, easy to repare, lasts forever, uses power only to turn the drum, but you could do without.

I made a 7ft long bag earlier today, for holding oars during storage but flipping it inside out was near impossible due to the dacron not being super happy with being folded into itself.

it's very stiff, and nothing sticks to it, we're used to using tape for aligning things, it doesn't work at all for this so we have to use clips and pins but it gets all tangled up. It's a pretty tough material to work with for rounded shapes and corners.

I've received a pretty interesting email this morning that made rethink the connection with linear logic. The way I had it phrased made it seem like resources cannot be duplicated, right after I had JUST demonstrated how to duplicate resources..
It's a bit more subtle than that.
Traditional logic treats propositions as infinite, whereas linear logic accounts for resources. Rejoice is an attempt at making a linear logic playground in which every transformation equates to a transaction that consumes rules.
In Rejoice, the linear logic ! modality applies to rules, not to values. A one-shot fraction can freely duplicate or discard symbols(x^2/x), but the fraction itself is consumed after firing. Anonymous functions and the @label mechanism are what promote rules to unlimited use. This is illustrated with file handles: once file is consumed, any fraction requiring it in its denominator simply won't fire, the resource is inaccessible through absence rather than enforcement. A fraction requiring a consumed symbol doesn't crash, it just becomes dead code.

.hey^5 should emit "hey" 5 times, it's necessary for the optimization where: x^10 y/x can be optimized into y^10/x^10, otherwise it merged outputs.. It's a bit hard to explain X)

We had a new sail made and cut the old one into panels, a few were bad, some were good, we gave some away to friends on other boats, and we'll reuse some for various projects.
I needed a liner for my backpack[1], and dacron is the perfect material for that!

Oh! concatenativa is a good one, I'll change it, same for decimale, that one's a typo X). I see a lot of -re removed in Formulario Mathematico so I went with that, whenever possible, I can't see it through Italian eyes, it does seem like the LsF docs conjugate things more than his own writing in Formulario.. There's this mathematician who decided to release his magnum opus in a language he's made up, that he felt better aligned with his sort of mathy framework for stuff, a bit like Polar releasing his book in Esperanto, but this is a language of Peano's making.
This mixture of application and conlang, is something I find extremely endearing.
